this game was pretty fun in the beta but it felt like the rounds ended in a disappointing way most of the time and it seemed like people were having connection issues. Is there anything different about it from the beta?
I think the 3vs3 format limits it, means if you suck you cannot be carried, not only that but you drag your team down, which is bound to get sweats toxic and seething
I'd love something more casual like full 12 vs 12 teams but everything has to be or mime esports now
Runs fine for me, and I went from a 1080p monitor to 1440p in between the beta and now. If anything they improved the performance
Just make sure to set gay tracing to static and effects to low, getting rid of the ugly screen space reflections and giving you an extra 20+ fps

Holy frick it feels like I'm walking through shit. Frick me for thinking this game would have any speed to it. They advertized this game like it'd actually be a fast paced shooter with verticality but it feels like I'm drudging through shit when I'm sprinting. This whole thing just feels muddy.
Or at least use jump pads, ziplines, the charge abilty etc. The fast paced part of the game isn't when moving forward in a straight line, it's when you use the tools available to you. Takes too long to climb up the stairs? Just blow up the ceiling and bring the upper floor down to you.

My brother in christ you must try the heavy shotgun. 16 rounds in the mag, automatic and shoots 4 then you wiener. Can 2 tap lights, 3 tap mediums, and 4 tap other heavies. Has a fixed spread and the only difference between from the hip and ADS is recoil.

There's a reason why the best strat in ranked was 2 medium healers and 1 mesh heavy. His only drawback is very low mobility and no traversal tool which makes him ass to play in casual matches since you can't rely on coordinated teammates.

It's a meme weapon for having fun in close quarters. Avoid being out in the open, equip the charge ability, play around corners and break walls to pull a Kool-aid surprise on people. And then when you're forced to be in wide open areas you can just sit down and cry because you're useless. At least you can bring the RPG and dome shield to do something, I suppose.
Do everything you can to force fights into close quarters where you automatically win. Jockey your ability to tear down any wall, ceiling, or floor at any time whenever possible to tear people into your range for example. Work with a medic medium that can exploit people being completely terrified of you and revive you/keep you topped off. Take the charge so you can close distance when you need to. Take useful items like goo grenades or dome shield, goo grenades because they allow you to engineer more advantageous arenas for your hammer, generate cover in a pinch, or climb without the help of a medium and dome shield because it allows you to for example force people to walk into your range on the objective where they can't possibly win.

Not the point, weapons seems to deal damage from anywhere between the damage they dealt during beta to double that. The silenced pistol can headshot for 78.75 damage now if you get lucky. But introducing luck via damage rolls in a competitive shooter is moronic so I'm guessing it's a bug.
The GL really is weak and the Scar has a very poor ammo capacity, but the shotgun and the revolver are both decent if you ever want to switch away from the AK for some variety.
It's a 28 DPS difference for a 200 damage per mag difference, too much of a tradeoff imo, especially because you're hardly ever fighting one enemy at a time. 520 damage on the Scar versus 720 on the AK is huge given how many teams run double heavies.

I figured it out. A random amount of damage is added to all shots, the bonus damage isn't affected by headshots. The average added damage is 6.875. Hopefully it's a bug because random damage is garbage in an FPS.
Did they even double check all the AI voice lines? I noticed quite a few of them mispronounce some basic english words , if your gonna use AI for the commentators that we have to listen to every game get it right at least lmao

There's literally no movement in the game grandpa. Actually I think this may be the slowest fps currently out there. I would give it to Counter-strike previously but it has pretty high strafing speed and you can also jump on things instead of being locked into stupid mount animation.
I really dislike movement animations in general but at least they fixed the weird fricking magnetizing for the most part from the beta, I don't feel like I'm constantly losing control of my character.
A good team with a good light will absolutely demolish that team insanely easily. You can literally just repeatedly engage/disengage while having your light picking off the healer(s).

All of this mostly just map navigation and barely adds anything to a combat. When you shooting someone it's just a bullet sponge contest. Also grappling hook and jump pad has the worst implementation of those I ever seen.

Yes a VERY GOOD HML team can trump a HMM team, but HML team comp REQUIRES a very good Light that doesn't really need additional support and can operate somewhat solo and just be overall cracked.
HMM will ensure that the team stays tight and works on better cooperation and covering eachother. Chain reviving is also a deciding factor.
HML is just too conditional, HMM applies to almost any enemy team scenario

For me it's PUBG. Still looks generally grounded, guns have recoil, can have shootouts in vehicles.
Fortnite trash is creeping in some asthetically, but I can still dress like a non-cartoon character and kill and teabag k-pop players.
PUBG was fun for a week then the severs flooded with Chinese (I live in Japan) so every game was "CHINA NUMBA ONE" "FRICK YOU JAPANESE" "TAIWAN IS DOG" over the mic while they all used aimbots. It's a big reason why I almost never play multiplayer (except counter strike)

Not that guy, but just because something is unique does not mean that it's good. The tournament game mode is pretty fricking bad when 90% of the time spent defending the point means absolutely nothing, and someone can come in and steal at the last second and instantly win.
This means that you can win like 19 fights in a row on a point, but then if you lose the 20th fight because the enemy team got lucky somehow, then you lose the entire tournament. Everything that you worked for throughout the entire tournament can be gone in a split second due to random shit like a lucky heavy charge, a lucky grenade, the deposit being knocked down from a platform, etc.
Too many calculations makes it a drain on servers and people's clients because of how it interacts with overall physics. The end result if not properly optimized is server lag and client framerate drops.
Having 2 cashout stations and 4 teams just results in way better fights.
It's so much better than quick cash which is just pure third partying and unlimited respawns.
I'm still not sure what the game is trying to be. From a glance it seems like yet another squad based esport bait game, though playing the game it feels more like an arena shooter. People who play to win will hate the game because they keep being teamed up with two morons, while people who play for fun won't like it because there's always one guy in the team yelling at them to play the objective. Hopefully they add a 8v8 mode for people who wants to play for fun.

Why do multiplayer shooters made outside of the Longhouse have such a short shelf life? Just not having the resources to for an update every other week to satiate a playerbase that can't just sit with a game for a month?
It's pretty simple. Games like CS, Valorant, R6, Apex, PUBG, Warzone, etc. already exist and have shown that they have staying power + frequent updates + competitive scenes.
Why would anyone attempt to jump onto a new FPS in a very saturated market, and that new game has a 90% chance to be inferior, have no staying power, have no updates, and have no competitive scene?

And BF2042 has the DNA of BFV coding underneath the hood. So the reason why The Finals has that sluggish feeling, is because it's the exact same nu-Battlefield dev DNA in there.
They could've given the middle finger to DICE and EA and make their own Battlefield clone with better mechanics and destruction to frick with them but they decided to make some generic shooter

It's a meme weapon for having fun in close quarters. Avoid being out in the open, equip the charge ability, play around corners and break walls to pull a Kool-aid surprise on people. And then when you're forced to be in wide open areas you can just sit down and cry because you're useless. At least you can bring the RPG and dome shield to do something, I suppose.
Do everything you can to force fights into close quarters where you automatically win. Jockey your ability to tear down any wall, ceiling, or floor at any time whenever possible to tear people into your range for example. Work with a medic medium that can exploit people being completely terrified of you and revive you/keep you topped off. Take the charge so you can close distance when you need to. Take useful items like goo grenades or dome shield, goo grenades because they allow you to engineer more advantageous arenas for your hammer, generate cover in a pinch, or climb without the help of a medium and dome shield because it allows you to for example force people to walk into your range on the objective where they can't possibly win.

Not the point, weapons seems to deal damage from anywhere between the damage they dealt during beta to double that. The silenced pistol can headshot for 78.75 damage now if you get lucky. But introducing luck via damage rolls in a competitive shooter is moronic so I'm guessing it's a bug.

The GL really is weak and the Scar has a very poor ammo capacity, but the shotgun and the revolver are both decent if you ever want to switch away from the AK for some variety.
the scar is extremely good you just have to not miss.
Alternatively I can use the AK and have leeway to miss a bit before the mag runs out.
or you could use the scar and kill people faster.
It's a 28 DPS difference for a 200 damage per mag difference, too much of a tradeoff imo, especially because you're hardly ever fighting one enemy at a time. 520 damage on the Scar versus 720 on the AK is huge given how many teams run double heavies.

I figured it out. A random amount of damage is added to all shots, the bonus damage isn't affected by headshots. The average added damage is 6.875. Hopefully it's a bug because random damage is garbage in an FPS.

There's literally no movement in the game grandpa. Actually I think this may be the slowest fps currently out there. I would give it to Counter-strike previously but it has pretty high strafing speed and you can also jump on things instead of being locked into stupid mount animation.

There's no chance here. That's what you don't get. At a competitive level, your light will always be at the top of his game and because of how this game works in terms of objectives, you can always disengage from a fight that isn't favorable. It's incredibly easy to do in this game.

PUBG was fun for a week then the severs flooded with Chinese (I live in Japan) so every game was "CHINA NUMBA ONE" "FRICK YOU JAPANESE" "TAIWAN IS DOG" over the mic while they all used aimbots. It's a big reason why I almost never play multiplayer (except counter strike)

Not that guy, but just because something is unique does not mean that it's good. The tournament game mode is pretty fricking bad when 90% of the time spent defending the point means absolutely nothing, and someone can come in and steal at the last second and instantly win.
This means that you can win like 19 fights in a row on a point, but then if you lose the 20th fight because the enemy team got lucky somehow, then you lose the entire tournament. Everything that you worked for throughout the entire tournament can be gone in a split second due to random shit like a lucky heavy charge, a lucky grenade, the deposit being knocked down from a platform, etc.

Too many calculations makes it a drain on servers and people's clients because of how it interacts with overall physics. The end result if not properly optimized is server lag and client framerate drops.
Lots of games do, but it's limited to cosmetic shit since it's so unreliable for actual gameplay.

Having 2 cashout stations and 4 teams just results in way better fights.

I'm still not sure what the game is trying to be. From a glance it seems like yet another squad based esport bait game, though playing the game it feels more like an arena shooter. People who play to win will hate the game because they keep being teamed up with two morons, while people who play for fun won't like it because there's always one guy in the team yelling at them to play the objective. Hopefully they add a 8v8 mode for people who wants to play for fun.
