Every time I want to try 3 and 4 out, I just end up replaying 2.
4 was great though.
4 is a piece of dogshit artistically compared to 2

But in terms of tone, atmosphere, or whatever descriptors you want to use, Pikmin 1 and 2 are easily the best.
Pikmin 1 Switch is probably the best one as they removed a lot of the jank that the GC and Wii versions have.
Pikmin 2 is pretty much the same across the board, but with 2 Wii being the most flawed of them all but you might not notice on first glance. The only real problem 2 Switch has is that some of the descriptions are changed.

lmao i actually dont know, i just hear from word of mouth people prefer the GC over it. Audio issues exist for almost certain i believe but that's not really a gameplay deterrent
the only notable thing i can tell you is that both the wii version and gc versions have is a glitched bridge issue where they build immediately if you meet certain thresholds but i never noticed the damn thing glitch despite multiple playthroughs

Pikmin 2 is a great game if you've never played a dungeon crawler before. It's trying to jam Pikmin mechanics in a game that really isn't suited for it
I've played loads of dungeon crawlers and I still think the caves are the best part of pikmin 2

Today the regrown mod for Pikmin 2 came out so I've been playing it. The content changes it is for the most part really subtle and it's great. The biggest thing is probably how it changes cave treasures to just pop their name and the money counter instead of starting a cutscene. Single-handedly cut probably a couple hours off my playthrough and I'm only halfway in.
