you forget that it ran on the switch, a damn last gen system and sized a measly 16.3 GB so it's actually a lot more technically impressive than starfield
>Halo Infinite flopped >Everwild in development hell >Perfect Dark in development hell >Fable confirmed to be pozzed and woke, also in development hell >Gears Collection is nothing more than a rumor >Starfield is Fallout 4 in space at 30fps delayed for an entire year >Redfall is a soulless always-online open world co-op shooter made to meet diversity quotas at 30fps >No Shinji Mikami kino because he left shortly after Bethesda/Tango acquisition >removing emulators >removing $1 gamepass >miss 80% of all Japanese games unless Microsoft pays for a gamepass port >goypass missing it's target every finacial quarter >hardware revenue down >dashboard littered with ads >no offline achievement support >storage upgrade only available through expensive proprietary solutions through selected vendors >physical next gen disc games only contain the Xbox One version of games, requiring you to connect to the internet to download the Series X version
It's going to be stolen by Starfield if it isn't a complete buggy mess. The industry and audience has been hijacked by people who are obsessed with flexing their tech demos and "realism," and dislikes games that actually have some kind of mechanic to center the gameplay around, difficulty, or level design.
It’ll be ToTK without doubt, it’s not even a question.
ToTK appeals to everyone and will ourself israelitefield 50 to 1.
Jewfield doesn’t appeal to anyone other than fat weirdos who speak Klingon and argue about TOS being better than TNG.
/pol/luted moron spergs out non related nonsense episode 24447
homie did link call for the return of the rise of the white race in the game? Did your mother drink cogniac while pregnant with you'd dumbass? Grow the frick up this is embarrassing for an adult to post Jesus
TotK no doubt. It literally one of the best games of all time and the entire gaming industry is in awe of Nintendo's technical wizardry. Its already over.
Starfield is the only legit contender to TotK, but I feel like it being Sci-fi harms it because women fricking hate sci-fi. The Zelda Bonus is actually a female bonus because they like simple good vs evil stories with princesses and magic. Like it or not, Zelda has broader appeal, and that trumps actual quality Ina popularity contest.
Elden Ring had no direct competition, it was the the game with the biggest scope released in 2022, and among the best selling. Now in 2023 we have multiple games expected to sell 15+ million copies: Hogwarts, Totk, and Starfield.
Two fantasy games and a sci-fi game, but Hogwarts can't win because of the troony controversy, so that leaves Zelda taking the woman vote.
It’ll be ToTK without doubt, it’s not even a question.
ToTK appeals to everyone and will ourself israelitefield 50 to 1.
Jewfield doesn’t appeal to anyone other than fat weirdos who speak Klingon and argue about TOS being better than TNG.
MS didn't consider using it's mountains of cash for anything but acquisitions until just recently when they realized they needed to dust off the 360 era playbook to pad gamepass with timed exclusives.
As someone who has no interest in either, I was thinking TotK was unequivocally going to be GOTY.
After watching the Xbox conference I think Starfield could be GOTY as long as they don't frick it up with bugs, jank and performance issues.
I think its fair to say these will be the nominees at the Geoff Awards for GOTY right?
Zelda TOTK
Starfield
Spider-Man 2
RE4 Remake (wont win as its a remake but will get nominated)
Armoured Core 6
Jedi Survivor
******Hogwarts Legacy****** (Possibly not nominated due to the press hating the author and definitely wont win if it does get a nomination)
I suspect everything else will be ignored except probably random shit indie game probably that hi-fi rush game.
The Geoff Awards give the win to whichever publisher bribes them the most. It has always been rigged as evident from God of War 2018 winning over RDR2 despite the latter still being fresh in people's memories, so it had recency bias, too. I firmly believe Sekiro won the following year just to shake off the stigma that the judges (if they exist) are bribed.
Sekiro did not win based on merit, it won because it's a fromsoft game. Do you seriously expect me to believe the game that got lambasted by critics and journos for the lack of accessibility/difficulty options picked Sekiro as their GotY? Not a fricking chance.
Nintendo gets a pass for everything another dev would be crucified for. The reused map is one thing but the purpose of the depths for a majority of the game is to give you the paid content that was recycled from the last game. It’s ridiculous.
Starfield. No question. It hasn't even released and it's already breaking Steam records. Stick a fork in it, Zelda is done, and the AI assets it uses are fooling nobody.
why do you boring people play this boring shit? I don't care about these at all. Not a single one of the 150 threads made a day about them is remotely interesting.
Geoff list anon here. I forgot about Diablo 4 as I dont play loot games. I assume that will probably get nominated too. New updated list:
Zelda TOTK
Starfield
Spider-Man 2
RE4 Remake (wont win as its a remake but will get nominated)
Armoured Core 6
Jedi Survivor
******Hogwarts Legacy****** (Possibly not nominated due to the press hating the author and definitely wont win if it does get a nomination)
Final Fantasy 16 (Nomination probably but I don't see it winning as the press made a big fuss about the no black people comment from the dev team)
Diablo 4 (I thought people hated this due to microtransactions or something?)
Possibly Street Fighter 6 or Mortal Kombat 1? (I dont play fighting games so I dunno)
All 3 of them have GOTY contenders at the Geoff awards. Not my personal opinion as I didnt like the 1st Spider-Man. This is just objectively what games the media likes.
Zelda
Starfield
Spider-Man
It literally is the spitting image of a $25 expansion pack from the 90s that games use to get. >reuses the map 1:1 >not a single new weapon type with different aninations >majority of enemies and minibosses are from the base game >combat is identical >shrines are the same 2 minute micro puzzles >sky islands are tiny and only contain shrines and minibosses, like the Flux construct that's reused 15 times in the whole game >depth are empty, full of red aids and only used for spamming reskinned enemies and zonite mining >only substantial new content is the Gmod shit and the main 4 dungeons that are still divine beast tier (some are actually way worse then BOTWs, like the water temple)
Starfield will be a spectacular failure like Fallout 76 and will bankrupt Bethesda as people finally realise that AAA games are just not competitive with indie games nowadays. There's too much admin, too much overhead, these companies are too large.
Both Nintendo and Bethesda should learn to tone back the amount of people and money they throw at things. It's literally destroying them and is uneconomic. You're better off making games with a smaller team with enough time to polish things so it doesn't end up like Pokemon SV.
But frankly, most of the games I play nowadays are indie games because the corporate overhead makes it impossible, regardless of the talents in the firm, to make a solid game.
Todd's company was one of the first to experience this ridiculous problem in the 00s. Blizzard was another. Nintendo was the first.
These companies used to make quality up until the late 00s but frankly their content is just so overproduced nowadays and so lacking in individuality and traits of the devs in these firms that these games are becoming lifeless and stale. That said, TotK is an anomaly, though it's not perfect.
>You're better off making games with a smaller team with enough time to polish things so it doesn't end up like Pokemon SV.
Huh? GameFreak's got like 150 employees, they're tiny. Their ineptitude is simply due to their lack of skill and probably too short dev times.
FromSoft has over double the amount of employees and Capcom is fricking enormous and they put out functioning games.
The only thing that makes Starfield Fallout 4.5 is that they’re both shooters with RPG elements. Starfield has a different setting, completely different map, vastly improved visual fidelity, completely different story, different combat(zero-g shooting, ship battles, space magic), entirely new weapons, different main player(Fallout 4 protagonist had a more defined background/personality due to being voiced). Pretty much none of these changes can be said about BotW to TotK
I was unreasonably hyped for Starfield starting last year just on the basis of the ship building. Even so, I figured there was no fricking way Bethesda would make ship building in depth. You could make a three story ship perhaps and that's it, ships also wouldn't be much longer than the ones we saw in the first gameplay reveal and they absolutely would have to be horizontal only. Pic related was surely an npc freighter that can't be controlled. I can't believe they genuinely managed to shock me.
If they don't win GOTY I'll be astounded.
People called BotW a tech demo, but it was actually a complete game with a vision of what it wanted to be. TotK is the game that’s literally a tech demo for gmod+. It’s impressive but nothing feels like an organic evolution of BotW’s systems and the building just seems to be tacked on to the previous game’s skeleton. This will be a majority opinion next year. However, it will still win GotY as Starfield’s bugs will bring it down.
>zelda hasn't been tainted by woke shit
lol lmao, BotW created an insane amount of trannies due to the gerudo crossdressing stuff, and TotK lets you wear a loose dress with painted nails and a pink wig with dark lipstick. Depends on whether Starfield delivers on its promises. With a game of that scale, the chances that most of it ends up being big and empty and boring are pretty high.
Dirt
I predict it'll be Starfield, ToTK was kind of underwhelming
Final Fantasy IV on NES
Yay!!
if botw 2 ran at 60 fps it would win hands down
but the current sub 30 fps and console exclusive brings it down
no man's skyrim wins

Calm down Rabi.
Final Fantasy 16
I can feel the butthurt already from you because you refused to include it
TotK no doubt. It literally one of the best games of all time and the entire gaming industry is in awe of Nintendo's technical wizardry. Its already over.
Diablo IV and it isn't even close
>87 metacritic
Not even getting nominated
It's better than 3 but it's also broken as frick and the way it's sold through dlc, etc is fricking disgusting and ruins it.
At least name a good game
more like diablo bore amirite
ToTk will crush the neck of Todd's recent shitbryo game
TotK
Todd is gonna cry about the fact that a japanese game stole GOTY
The seethe will be insane
System Shock
It's not between Starfield and TotK, it's RE4 and TotK.

Explain how Elden Ring won if appeal to women was ever a factor
Elden Ring had no direct competition, it was the the game with the biggest scope released in 2022, and among the best selling. Now in 2023 we have multiple games expected to sell 15+ million copies: Hogwarts, Totk, and Starfield.
Two fantasy games and a sci-fi game, but Hogwarts can't win because of the troony controversy, so that leaves Zelda taking the woman vote.
Massive streamer Thot appeal.
>muh female gigolos
That’s what
said.
MS has a shitton of money though
MS didn't consider using it's mountains of cash for anything but acquisitions until just recently when they realized they needed to dust off the 360 era playbook to pad gamepass with timed exclusives.
it hasn't even released yet you fricking neurotic zoomer, how do you want to draw conclusions based on literally nothing?
GotY is actually between FF16 and TotK.
TotK will win but I suspect FF16 will be a more consistently fun and well-designed game. It just doesn't do anything new.
CYBERPUNK 2077: PHANTOM LIBERTY BABY LET'S GOOOOOOOOO
Starfield.

******Hogwarts Legacy****** (Possibly not nominated due to the press hating the author and definitely wont win if it does get a nomination)
I suspect everything else will be ignored except probably random shit indie game probably that hi-fi rush game.
Why are you purposely ignoring ffxvi
Forgettable, sorry.
I assume the press will ignore it due to "muh no black people"
Single player action games are too niche
>Armoured Core 6
Not a chance. It has an even more niche audience than the space israelites simulator
I put it there as Geoff was cooming his pants over it at the Geoff awards last year. It was the big reveal.
FF16 will surely get a nomination, probably in place of Hogwarts.
I think the press will hate on it because of the no black people thing so its in a similar position to Hogwarts
>wont win as its a remake but will get nominated
Hope it wins so this gay narrative can be squashed
RE2 remake was snubbed in 2019 at the Geoff awards
That was the year Geoff and the industry came together to elevate Fromsoft for his own gain.
yes good list, except hogwarts was a ubisoft-tier boring game that never deserved more than 7/10 and should not even be in same tier as the rest
If RE4 is disqualified from winning because it's a Remake, then it's only fair for Totk to be disqualified as well.
I'm just saying what the games press think. RE4 remake is my GOTY so far but I don't see the Geoff awards giving GOTY to a remake.
The only other games worthy of goty in 2019 were re2 remake and dmc5 so its not like Sekiro had a huge amount of competition
Sekiro did not win based on merit, it won because it's a fromsoft game. Do you seriously expect me to believe the game that got lambasted by critics and journos for the lack of accessibility/difficulty options picked Sekiro as their GotY? Not a fricking chance.
I'm just saying there wasnt many games that year
One game is just a massive DLC expansion (couple of floaty sky islands and a shitty gloom depth doesn't justify it being a completely new sequel game)
Other is a completely new IP on a often overlooked and rare genre of space travel and exploration.
Yeah as long as Todd doesn't royally frick it up, Starfield taking GOTY this year.
>fallout in space
>completely new ip
Nintendo gets a pass for everything another dev would be crucified for. The reused map is one thing but the purpose of the depths for a majority of the game is to give you the paid content that was recycled from the last game. It’s ridiculous.
The one that doesn't reuse the map from the previous game.
Starfield. No question. It hasn't even released and it's already breaking Steam records. Stick a fork in it, Zelda is done, and the AI assets it uses are fooling nobody.
why do you boring people play this boring shit? I don't care about these at all. Not a single one of the 150 threads made a day about them is remotely interesting.
dont care.
didnt ask.
leave this thread.
dont reply to me.
thank you.
>A game that currently exists
>A game that hasn’t come out yet
Why is Ganker like this?
Starfield is literally Fallout 4 in space.
TOTK is literally a DLC/assetflip.
Geoff list anon here. I forgot about Diablo 4 as I dont play loot games. I assume that will probably get nominated too. New updated list:
Zelda TOTK
Starfield

Possibly Street Fighter 6 or Mortal Kombat 1? (I dont play fighting games so I dunno)
>I thought people hated this due to microtransactions or something?
We do, but I am watching streams and honestly it's a frickton better than D3.
Haven't played either yet. I'll make a post when I do to let you know.
>TOTK made me FEEL like a kid again!
Cue it winning every award ever conceived
Zelda, because it actually released this year.
Starfield comes out in September brother
Zelda, Starfield and Spider-Man 2 get the console manufacturer bonus so nothing else can win goty over those 3.
All 3 of them have GOTY contenders at the Geoff awards. Not my personal opinion as I didnt like the 1st Spider-Man. This is just objectively what games the media likes.
Zelda
Starfield
Spider-Man
Spider Man 2 is their rep for 2023. Kinda weak considering the competition, but it's still bound to be a good game.
It literally is the spitting image of a $25 expansion pack from the 90s that games use to get.
>reuses the map 1:1
>not a single new weapon type with different aninations

Starfield is unironically too big to not get GotY
Yes indeed. They’ve been seething harder than usual the past year or so.
I seethe therefore I am.
>I will never play any of this shilled s_o_y garbage
feels good
the one that's out
This is probably the first year in over a decade each of the big three have a potential GOTY contender.
>Zelda
>Starfield
>Spider Man
The System Shock remake from the looks of it.
It's ok, but I think SS hasn't aged that well.
It looks great though and it makes SS playable at least.
Every game released this year has been a 2/10 at best and looking at Fallout 4, Starfield will be a 0/10.
>people keep ignoring FF16
It’s on a Sony platform so the bitter jaded pc gays here can’t play it
Not yet. That's next year.
naw i wouldnt want them to release it early let it sit there however long they need
Starfield will be a spectacular failure like Fallout 76 and will bankrupt Bethesda as people finally realise that AAA games are just not competitive with indie games nowadays. There's too much admin, too much overhead, these companies are too large.

YOU MAY BEGIN KNEELING NOW
grow up
Nobody has played Starfield yet.
And I'm not sure it'll be released this year.
It'll be TotK anyways, it's Nintendo/Zelda.
Microsoft is doing a "deep dive" event tomorrow, if Starfield is there and playable we'll know about it and it'll probably come out this year.
Starfield, ToTK was just BotW 1.5
BOTW 1.5 vs Fallout 4.5, fair fight
It's more like BOTW 1.1 honestly.
Shhh you're not supposed to point those things out just say Fallout 4 in space, Diamond City in space, Institute rifle in space.
Starfield because it has no durability bullshit.
Link can go shove his broken master sword up Zelda's butthole.
How about waiting for Starfield to come out?
Big white man game btfo smol chink game
TOTK lets you build mechs
Starfield is just NMS with a better story
Starfield lets you build mechs
Holy kino
>put a pilot seat on each limb

how can this game not win goty
I was unreasonably hyped for Starfield starting last year just on the basis of the ship building. Even so, I figured there was no fricking way Bethesda would make ship building in depth. You could make a three story ship perhaps and that's it, ships also wouldn't be much longer than the ones we saw in the first gameplay reveal and they absolutely would have to be horizontal only. Neither
It will come down to Armored Core 6 and FFXIV.
Fallout NV is game of the year
Careful who you rally behind Ganker, remember that starfield has pronouns and zelda hasn't been tainted by any of that woke shit.
>zelda hasn't been tainted by woke shit
lol lmao, BotW created an insane amount of trannies due to the gerudo crossdressing stuff, and TotK lets you wear a loose dress with painted nails and a pink wig with dark lipstick.
