I think some of this is true but I was a str*vebaby and the game being very approachable and having a lot of newcomers made it easy to get a foundation for fighting games and now Ive branched out to pretty much everything besides 3D games. I'd just tell a new person now to pick up sf6 though because it has the largest playerbase and that to me was the most important part

I feel like you have a very little understanding of the fighting game audience if you think a lot of people are going to buy the game and actually touch story mode or any of the other features that isn't just training mode and netplay.
I would 1000000% just download the free to play version and buy the one character I'm interested in playing. Because 90% of the time whenever I play fighting games, I literally just play one character. The only real downside is not being able to lab against whoever, but that's just remedied by playing against other people who have that character and experimenting in match.

I know it's Ganker so you guys just like the characters but do you have any thoughts on the gameplay? Game just seems like diet SF6 at this point, at which point why not just play SF6. Original felt like the closest equivalent to a modern SF2, obviously there was some pretty bad balance issues through the game's lifespan but I think it captured that simplicity that made SF2 fun but easy to play. Here it's just pure unga, characters feel more like GG and it's about "how do I set up my bullshit win condition?" compared to "How do I outplay the opponent's neutral?". Game has no niche anymore, it's too honest by anime standards and too anime by SF/KoF standards.

u can end all ur strings in ur unique button (mash it for the full hits) and its plus on block as well as pushing them away, after that ur back to neutral and can use your big buttons to win neutral again, at this range you can just hit medium again to catch them pushing, even if they hit a fast button u just whiff punish them and look like a god
ur spear dash is ur bread and button combo ender
don't forget u can meme on people with ur dive
ur sweep is really good too, 5l 5l sweep pushes so far back its safe and is a really good abare option
you have no meterless invincible reversal, your parry/armour stance requires you to guess high/low if you don't do the heavy version (so just do the heavy version)
best anti air option is crouching heavy into the off the ground spear dash where u juggle them with it again, feel free to use heavy or ultimate for bigger damage (recommended you use heavy since the CD is fairly irrelevant)
if you space the spear dash properly its only like -3 so you can use it to just skip neutral and get in for free
don't forget to be an absolute menace with ur unique button in air for the spear bounces and into air attack to force them to have guess if ur going to press it again or land, its an absolute scrub killer

If you want the EX Colors, download GBVS1, download the shop mod, go offline and buy the colors, exit the game, go online and boot up GBVSR and transfer save. They didn't stick to the save in GBVS1 when you were online, but the check for ownership seems to be removed.

If you're blocking a string, chances are there is no overhead threat anymore. The only way to open you up is to throw or guardbreak, no need to worry about what buttons they're pressing, blocking already beats that so you only look for those 2 options.
by "on reaction" people mean you need to understand that maybe there is a few options that can happen and you are going to be looking out for 1-2 of them and have your fingers primed to press it, see it, then press dodge
not that u are literally just sitting there blocking, and suddenly you see a few frames of start up, recognize the attack, move your hands and fingers to press the buttons, and do that with the right timing
it will never happen, raw reaction to stuff like that is incredibly rare and difficult, by reaction people just mean you are anticipating it and are ready to deal with it and you reacted to that option rather than just guessed and pressed without looking
think of reacting the same as hit confirming, sometimes its easier, sometimes its harder, but no one is just randomly looking to see if they hit someone off every hit, just off certain strings you can actually visually see and confirm off
