The heat is arriving, can your PC handle it, or are you defaulting back to indie games that won't turn your room into a sauna?
The heat is arriving, can your PC handle it, or are you defaulting back to indie games that won't turn your room into a sauna?
The only games I play are emulated PS2 games and TF2 which don't heat up my PC that much so I am good to go
I'll be fine
Dumbass doesn't understand basic thermal dynamics
Your room is never going to be hotter than your CPU.
Fans will always work in human living conditions.
>your room: 50C
>your CPU: 80C
>fan takes heat and puts it into the air
Why wouldn't this work?
moron
I'll be fine
I thought Europe was going to freeze over?
Sometimes that's the narrative.
Remember to hold true and never trust your lying eyes anon.
Can't overheat a gaming pc if you only use consoles.
I dont live in a brown country so the heat has not arrived yet
Do people not have air conditioning?
It was already 20° average one day and I think the temperature reached 27° at one point.
If it continues like that I won't be able to survive this summer gaming. It's going to be like up to 34°, this is hell.
Should I get a little dehumidifier for my room?
I also wonder if I should invest in a dehumidifier as well? I never really bothered to mess with them, figured you don't need it unless you just naturally have a humid room/living space? You can buy a hygrometer that tells you the humidity levels in the room, and that would be a better indicator of whether or not you need one. You obviously don't want a high humidity dwelling, but you can also look for signs of high humidity in your room/living space as well.
I personally was looking into getting a small air purifier, but I'm not sure if it'll do anything. I've read a lot of people benefit from them, helps them sleep better and breathe better. It seems to really only be necessary if you live with pets, but I've never read anything bad about having one.
I game in my living room, nice and open space
Never have to worry about the heating being too much
I have two big standing fans pointed at my computer which is sitting in a tub of water (bottom part wrapped in plastic of course so it doesn't get wet) and it keeps it mega cool
Y-your PC is sitting in a tub of water but wrapped? What? Is that a thing people do? You mean liquid cooled? Or you're actually letting it sit in a tub of water? You must be fricking with me.
Post a picture of it, I want to see the autism.
It's in a tub of water with saran wrap taped to the sides, with enough slack to let it ALMOST rest on the bottom I'd post a picture but i'd have to clean up the area first and I don't want to
I mean...that's some major autism in my mind. I still want to see a picture because I want other anons to see it and comment on it. Am I just being weird? Who the frick does that? I have never in my life heard of sitting your PC in a tub of water with saran wrap taped to the sides.
Was that your own invention/idea, anon? Are you autistic?
We need to know. however I feel only death can release us from knowing.
yeah it was my idea because water is cooler than air and better at dissipating heat. it's the whole concept behind water cooled computers
>this confuses and angers the european
Yourope isn’t Airazona.
The problem anon, is that euro has windows that open like doors not raised up to open like american windows.
You actually can't fit an AC into those.
Install HVAC
Oh wait I forgot Europe is a continent of renters and they'll probably go to jail for owning the saws and screws needed to install it lmao that's even if they can find space for the fan unit outside because they're packed in like sardines.
Yes you can, we do it all the time in Australia.
electric bill goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Electricity is cheap. Don't tell me you're cucked on AC AND electricity.
You do have indoor plumbing, right?
no u
i wish it was cheap
running heating or cooling more than an hour a day is an any% speedrun to spending $400/month on your power bill.
its why you wear thicc socks and carry around a hot water bottle in winter.
Not at all, those things are pretty efficient, especially if you limit it to one or two rooms (it'd be incredibly dumb to try and cool the entire house).
It's either that or you get to sit in 45C heat/30-35C over night.
AC is like 6% of my electric bill during the summer.
As opposed to heat which is 65%.
Euros don't understand electricity. It's why Benjamin Franklin had to invent it after they fricked around for 1000 years or whatever
Those are shit
>asiatic product
Disgusting.
Europeans unironically believe that
>American windows don't open
>Americans don't have electric kettles
>there are no frogs (amphibian) in America
>Americans buy guns without background checks
>brick houses could withstand tornadoes
>60 mph is fast
>80 mph is unsafe
>trucks are useless
>America lacks 240v outlets
>that the interstate system isn't one of the greatest wonders of the world
oh, and the tourists think they can see all the tourist shit (Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, NYC, LA, etc) in a week or two with a casual drive lmao
I mean 60 mph in relative terms is fast, how many things can go 60 mph
>80 mph is unsafe
>that the interstate system isn't one of the greatest wonders of the world
these are fricking stupid thoughever if they actually think that considering the autobahn exists
The US interstate system is 48,756 miles (78,465 km). It's more than enough to pave your entire country. It is indeed a modern wonder.
>It's more than enough to pave your entire country
im a burger
well, we used to have an autobahn in Montana until the federal government got mad about it and threatened to withhold interstate maintenance funds unless the state gov put a speed limit on it. I've driven it and most people still haul ass on there and there's not many cops.
>I've driven it and most people still haul ass on there and there's not many cops.
I believe it, once had to go all the way to fricking utah and probably could count the amount of cops seen on one hand there and back
just watch out for Iowa, worst highway patrol cops in the US. They love to just randomly drop the speed limit in some sections and have cops and speedtraps just waiting to frick you. On top of that, the speed limit on it is like 55 or 60 when there's no reason for that, probably just to collect more speeding tickets. frickers.
Post medical debt or fake
I haven't gone to the doctor since I was 16 unless you want to count getting my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago. Don't need to go to the hospital whenever I get a cold or scrape my knee while paying 40%+ taxes. Sucks to suck.
one time ordeal thankfully but I'll keep that in mind if ever somehow end up there
houses could withstand tornadoes
they can.
here in Aus all homes must be built to withstand prolonged 240km/h winds.
you guys just dont have any building codes and build your shitty homes out of paper and matchsticks
>you guys just dont have any building codes
lol, lmao
we do build a lot of shitty houses but tornadoes destroy brick houses too. I've seen it with my own eyes. tornadoes are the scariest natural disaster besides maybe a meteor strike or something
I think rainstorms are really scary because it rains really hard and everything gets wet and it's easy to slip and fall and get hurt. Way scarier than a tornado. Super scary imo. I mean just imagine it's you're just chilling then it starts to rain; I bet your chances of survival plumet to the single digits. At least when it tornados you can just fly around in it and land. It's not as bad as rain. Rain is real scary.
wait until you hear about ice storms
>here in Aus all homes must be built to withstand prolonged 240km/h winds.
You probably shouldn't lie about something anyone with basic skill can look up online.
A lot of your populated areas outside of the coast seem to be N1 or N2 requirement if not built on a hill.
>designed to withstand wind gusts of up to 86km/h, with occasional gusts up to 144km/h
Yeah even a F1 will frick your shit up, F3 will just remove everything of that building.
i genuinely don't get this meme
aircons have nothing to do with windows
they just go on any wall in your house and a pipe is run to an extraction unit outside
It does because more technologically advanced solutions exist.
>Requires professional install
>Window AC unit is just shoved in a window by anyone
Different products for different use cases
I have central air and im not too poor to run it all day so i'm not too worried
I'm a euro and just use a fan. Works well enough.
The trick is to have the fan high up and aimed out of the room
Blows the hot air near the top of the room away
Yeah its not exactly hard to use fans right but for some reason people pretend its really hard or something. Standings have always been the best but just airflow usually works even on like 38+ celcius.
or just do the opposite, floor-level aimed in.
I'm America, so I don't consider AC some forbidden witchcraft that you must never contemplate.
>undervolted 5800X3D cooled by a 280 liquid freezer II
>7900xtx undervolted (still 350w though)
>3 decent intake fans with no obstructions to the gpu
My PC will live but I might not.
I have the POWER of air conditioning and I keep it running at 69 degrees, so I think I'm good. I also have back up oscillating fans stationed around my PC desk/area/gaming zone for more COOLNESS and even have a ceiling fan DIRECTLY above my PC desk/area/gaming zone for even MORE coolness.
I'm ready for Summer. BRING IT ON!
I have a middle-class job so I can afford to live in a home at a comfortable temperature year-round.
What's the default/acceptable temperature for a 7800X3D and 4090?
Anything below throttle point.
is your time to suffer now mwhahahaha
>tfw gpu already 11C cooler, idling at 39C
b-b-based
time to undo the undervolt and overclock higher
frick I love winter
The only newer game I was playing was Bannerlord and I got sick of the mods crashing so I'm not even playing that.
So heat isn't really a problem.
It feels like summer just ended and suddenly it's here again
sowwy i live in brazil so its gonna be winter for me
>heater went out years back
>boot up mhw on my ps4 to heat up the room for me and my cats until it got fixed
I have an AMD card that lets me change the wattage, MHz, and fan speed all in the driver. So I don't need to Black person around like an Nshitia user.
My card gets like 62c max, my CPU, which is also an AMD, gets about 55c.
RX 6600XT
R5 5600
I was always confused by these threads since my pc is indoors where the temperature is the same all year, but then I found out that the majority of europoors don't have ac. lmao you think you are first world countries while you sit there sweating all summer like a fricking brazilian.
I live in Yakutsk so I am able to overclock my i9 12900k 6.3 ghz all cores no issue
I never used to have AC and I'm in the US, I live in WA and nobody here had it until a couple of years ago when it hit 120 and a ton of people died.
Now everyone has it
I can't wait. I'll be bringing my laptop onto the patio and relaxing in the sun. I've already done it the few days it has reached 18+ degrees
