If they had said "We're not doing regular editions anymore everything is deluxe" I'd be ok with it because at least we're getting something. But raising the regular price to $70 is awful.

The industry has been doing it for a while now. Journalists have helped them slowly sow the seeds in gamers' mind. The justification is that game development is more expensive, when the truth is that it's literally never been cheaper to develop a game. AAA studios are just trying to justify all the costs they sink into graphics and marketing, and it's bullshit that consumers should foot the bill.
