Souls games are spiritual successors to King's Field, which was a PS1 game. Demon's Souls was actually gonna be a King's Field game at the beginning till Sony got in the way and told them they wanted it 3rd person. Sony don't seem to be fans of the the first person perspective in games. And to be honest, me neither.
The only problem I got with the remake is that they decided to frick with the art direction and change it to their liking instead of trying to keep it as originally intended. Other than that this remake is absolutely amazing and superior to the original. And it's funny to think about it but this is not only by far the best looking Souls games to date but the performance is pristine too. Something FromSoftware will never be able to match even on a PS6 because when it comes to the technical stuff they really just don't have good programmers or even a good Engine for that matter. They only focus on art direction and frick everything else. That's why to this date every single game they have released still has frame pacing issues on every system. They have no idea how to fix it even though modders can fix it by changing a single line of code but Fromsoft are incapable of that. Just watch when they release their next game and it still has frame pacing issues.

I don't even care that much about DeS, but I'm tired of you homosexuals not understanding why people are frustrated with remakes and comparing 2 games like they're 2 independent products. It positions itself as a replacement for the original, as a new, objectively better version (while still taking everything it can from the original) - when people say "Demon Souls" - they often mean "Demon Souls Remake". And in this case - it can't deviate from the developer vision at all.
What it does isn't just name confusion (like Prey 2017 did) it makes sure less people will play the original and pollutes the community and the discussion of the game.
Have never been in a situation when the sequel of the franchise you care about seems more like a parody of original? Or when you favourite book is adaptative and it misses the point of the original? Well, remake is worse than adaption or sequel, although I guess you never respected anything in your life, so how can you understand.

I just don't see how Demon's Souls looks better. I'm not talking about style or art but even graphics. It looks they are very similar despite Eldem Ring being open world, but Elden Ring uses better color grading which makes the assets look better

You are delusional, those assets belong to ps3. Demon's Souls was blatantly rushed to release in time for PS5 and before Elden Ring. It has spots that are extremely ugly and you can tell they prioritized the presentation of certain elements and parts over others, especially the entrance to each world.
In the most "open" parts of Boletaria it also constantly uses fog to cover far elements and reduce the workload, whereas in the original the fog was representated by the color grading and tone, but the maps had clarity. This is something Elden Ring does, but in areas far off in the distance while you are in the overworld. In the remake you can't see shit 50 meters from you on the walls of Boletaria because the tech demo had to keep the steady 60 fps (Performance mode)
