It takes hundreds of hours to get a key for any of the dungeons.

the end game was entirely miserable. those chest runs where cool at first, but then everyone started duping the mats and flooding the market so Amazon broke the chests to make it harder to grind out end game mats. that thing with the end game dungeon keys is moronic as frick. the invasion system was moronic too.

followed it for years, played the beta and refunded it. this is one of the worst games ever made but it wasn't. they literally started changing the game because people like assmunchergoy couldn't figure it out. if you actually enjoyed this game for any amount of time with its castrated combat system you're the problem

        Anonymous

it wasn't really the game worked before the beta. the alpha testing was pretty much the whole game it only needed some balancing and to add planned content. the execution was fine. what happened is that the dick head directing the game started removing things without any clue on how it would affect the game and it all fell apart. everything was coherent at one point and made sense. by the time the beta came along the game was completely ruined. it's unfortunate that it took a few months for people to realize how fricked the game really was

this. they catered way too hard to streamers who where openly using exploits and bugs on their streams to win the pvp battlegrounds. they broke the economy and the crafting system too. they fired all the people who made the game and hired pajeets instead.

same. played about 160 hours. was having tons of fun grinding crafting and gathering and fishing and ganking morons. the chest runs and chaos portal runs where fun at first. nonworld pvp was gay as frick. then gold dupers ruined the economy and amazon handled that about as poorly as you could. then they gimped the frick out of profession leveling.

had so much fun playing in the betas and at launch though im still getting the urge to play still and just chop trees and gather herbs and fish.

There's just something really comfy about it, even if it's repetitive. I liked that you had to go into towns to do anything. I felt a similar feeling when I was 11 playing WoW and just kinda hung out in the big cities.

yeah running around and exploring the worlds was super comfy. so was figuring out a good route for gathering and chugging gathering pots with your gathering gear on and just farming fat stacks of whatever and blowing out the local markets. i had a lot of fun just playing the markets in each town and selling shit to people too lazy to go get it themselves, especially in regards to the simple town board turn ins. definitely reminded me a lot of the early vanilla wow days

The sounds design was top notch. Hearing the echoing Chop as I hack at the tree, or the loud echo of my pickaxe hitting some iron.

              Damn comfy game.

yeah the echoing chop and pick was so comfy. really cool that you could hear that from other players too so youd know if you where alone in the area. monarch bluffs was the most comfy zone imo, my guild made that our home base within the first hours of playing on day one, we repelled so many pvp invasions. had some great battles there. had some huge pvp guild v guild wars outside of one of the forest zones in the middle too. all three factions present, at least 20-30 players from each side, usually more. everyone hiding in bushes and drawing the enemy into the woods and springing the ambush on them when it was too late was so satisfying. clearing forests with like 50 other guys was great too

yeah going prone and having your nameplate totally hidden was awesome. set and baited so many ambushes that way. have like 20 guys hiding in a bush and jumping on another pvp group was so much fun. i really love that sort of open world pvp in games, its hard to find done properly these days. too bad new world didnt have any pvp servers and most people didnt run around flagged.

great axe and hammer / hatchet chad master race reporting in. heavy armor for maximum butthurt. i always felt like that worked as intended. of course some homosexual with a rapier and a musket and light armor isnt going to stand a chance against a great axe with heavy armor. that shit was so satisfying, stunlocking and crunching frickers, then you get the runners trying to flee and you just reap and vortex them.

                Anonymous

i just went with heavy armor and sacrificed the roll/dodge for being able to tank mad shit. and then the hatchet healing pops and you start crunch hitting. or switch to great axe and just chop people down and reap them. chasing some pussy down after baiting you and trying to run back to the village and getting them right out the gates was top tier.

                Anonymous

yeah i was a little gimped with less mobility but i felt like being able to tank hits makes up for it. i rarely ever went down in open world pvp and regularly took on 2-3 other players at once. the survivability with hatchet and greataxe was such a great combo. the pvp was so fricking satisfying. hunting down kiddos trying to get good boi points for their faction was so fun, would lead directly to massive battles in the wilderness.

I will admit I had some of the most fun in years playing during the release. I was mostly a Solo player with PVP enabled. Not a lot of players were flagged but when someone was, you better believe I initiated a fight and shit talked over voip (when it worked).
So many fun encounters. Making friends and enemies during the race to 60. I also played my guitar on voip on top a well and had a crowd of listeners.

Then I hit 60 ahead of the curve on my server and the game had fricking nothing to do, the Devs had done nothing but frick up each patch with dupe glitches and other shit. Wars did not work and were just a lagfest of stationary players dying to who knows what.
Infinite loading screen glitches to respawn during the war. Loading screen loop glitch where you get Teleported to the town at war, can walk around and attack other players in the war also being teleported there before being put back into a loading screen and then back to the town.

the whole fricking high watermark bullshit.
