every new AAA trashpile that gets announced surprises me with how much israelite shit they can stuff in, does that count?
I'm rather shocked by how many times they do it, loss HUGE amount of money.. then continue to do it again
the people who matter still make money off these projects so its not much of a loss to them
nobody cares if some blue haired college grad or poo has to go through the employment process again when everyone in the upper echelons still gets their big salary on top of big tax write offs and benefits for their "losses"
They aren't losing money if you consider what the real reason for the existence of those countless videogames that nobody wants or asked for is.
could anon make her his sex slave if she wanted him to kill her anyway
would she agree to that
obviously no, since her stated reason for wanting to die is "end all my suffering"
being a sex slave would prolong her suffering, the exact opposite of her desired outcome
>like what's the last game that took you by a surprise?
Armored Core 6
Not the answer you want but I'm perpetually suprised how Souls-like games got popular in a casualized era of video games. And then even more how they retain popularity despite endless clones and sequels that don't change the basic formula at all. How didn't it all die off after DS2 is beyond me.
On the other hand I'd say the same for a title like Disco Elysium. Big numbers for such a text-heavy game in age where everyone's attention span is fried.
>suprised how Souls-like games got popular
because it's such a good video game formula, no big talk/cuteness/annoying characters..etc. Just fun a fun challenging gameplay unlike other "holding your hands" games
>Disco Elysium. Big numbers for such a text-heavy game in age where everyone's attention span is fried
people how like a textful game but we'll written "in companies to ther game" are A LOT but not vocal at all
alan wake 2
Astlibra going the direction it did in the later chapters.
Void Stranger. Came for the puzzles, got hooked for the story and puzzles.
>like what's the last game that took you by a surprise?
Depends on how you mean. It's easy for games to have twists that no one can see coming, but it's harder for them to have twists that are actually well executed, add satisfying new elements to the story, and build upon what was already there. Astlibra was like that.
Troubleshooter is a game that goes to great lengths to flesh out characters on all sides of the conflict and create a sense of empathy for the villain factions who genuinely consist of people who just grew through unfortunate circumstances and were pushed into a way of life they can't escape from, which is a level of depth and grey morality that major studio western games seem to have completely lost sight of.
Psychopomp of all things is a good example of how very simple statements can be very effectively frightening given the right context, such as in this case the example of a schizophrenic protagonist noting that all it takes to enter an off-limits area is a hammer. It's almost impressively concise in that regard.
On the other hand, I started playing Monster Sanctuary recently and holy frick the writing in that game is utterly atrocious. Everyone prattles on line after line about the most inane shit in the same stilted manner of speech with hand-holding dialogue so obnoxious it'd be impressive were it not so vexing.
what's the story of Astlibra in short?
>Troubleshooter
only if it wasn't this long to beat
God bless your autism anon

If you had the chance to turn back time to fix something, will that truly fix everything?
Why is the barrel so big? What kind of bullet is that big???
how big?
half an inch tends to be the upper limit for bullet diameter
You could easily get your finger in there. It's like a 20-25mm cannon or something. The narrow grip and extremely tall slide means it must be single-stacked with some extremely short and fat cartridges in the magazine. There also does not seem to be an ejection-port that is large enough to spit the casing out. So perhaps this is some crazy caseless ammo, which would make the shortness of the round make more sense.
It also seems to have an extremely high twist-rate.
>slide safety
I'm not touching that trash, you filthy prostitute. DIY yourself.
Doom Eternal
As far as AAA goes I legitimately can't think of one. I guess hi fi rush if you count it
You mean positively surprised?
Nier Automata, I guess.
what was surprising about it?
I found it creative, well designed and fun/interesting.
I guess the surprising part was being a big budget game that didn't suck and didn't look like shit like all the others
I don't want to be surprised. I just want a good game.
People care so much about innovation, but no one gives a shit about refinement.
I would be genuinely surprised if I had extra fun with a game
Cyberpunk was the last AAA game I played that felt like it had any "bite" to the story. In lower budget games and indies there's too many to mention though.
Also Keanu's best performance
>no, get back in the machine like a good goy
10/10 show with a 2/10 ending
A 7/10 anime, loved it though
Creativity isn't good just because it's "creative". There's a good reason why the saying of if it ain't broken/reinventing the wheel exists.
