5v5 tacticool third person gameplay with basic weapons that are more realistic for average americans to have as opposed to military grade hardware (with some exception). shit like bolt action rifles, semi-autos similar to AR15, revolvers, molotovs and other makeshift weapons. then you fight in mid-sized urban areas, hiding behind walls, flanking, using stealth to ambush people, etc.

Abby did this. With nothing to go on but a name. No picture. No location. So she probably went cross country and killed multiple dudes named Joel. You play as both Abby and Ellie. Gears established rather quickly that big burly dudes are a normal standard thing in this story. So Fenix being buff in prison isn't remotely something out of place. The Last of Us on the other hand a majority of people in the series are dirty, downtrodden, and scavenging for food to live. Although they may not look malnourished they are shown oppressed and resorting to means of savagery and banditry. At no point until TLoU2 was it shown that anyone at all had ready access to a unlimited amount of food or drugs let alone look like they could compete in the Olympics. Especially from the Fireflies since they were a resistance to a oppressive government so them even having the drugs and food to begin with is suspect.
So please understand that I don't question Fenix not being a twig when the world established to have everyone be built like shit brick houses, but seeing Abby roided out and built like a fridge when NOBODY ELSE is. Not even the people she lives with that have access to her same food and drugs.

Abby did this. With nothing to go on but a name. No picture. No location. So she probably went cross country and killed multiple dudes named Joel. You play as both Abby and Ellie. Abby picks up a kid who for no real fricking reason at all is trans in an apocolypse. Because why the frick not. Game ends with Ellie, ostracized by her lesbian lover who fricked a dude to get a baby and left her, has got Abby, emaciated because she was left on a cross or some shit, on the ropes ready to get revenge. Then Ellie has a flashback for a split second. Stops trying to kill Abby and then Abby bites her finger off and Ellie just fricking leaves.

The Last of Us on the other hand a majority of people in the series are dirty, downtrodden, and scavenging for food to live. Although they may not look malnourished they are shown oppressed and resorting to means of savagery and banditry. At no point until TLoU2 was it shown that anyone at all had ready access to a unlimited amount of food or drugs let alone look like they could compete in the Olympics. Especially from the Fireflies since they were a resistance to a oppressive government so them even having the drugs and food to begin with is suspect.
So please understand that I don't question Fenix not being a twig when the world established to have everyone be built like shit brick houses, but seeing Abby roided out and built like a fridge when NOBODY ELSE is. Not even the people she lives with that have access to her same food and drugs.
Suspension of disbelief works if the story establishes that it's just common place that the thing that is weird is commonplace. Abby being a roided out person in general isn't common place. But everyone being a slab of muscles in Gears of War is common place. So nobody questions why Fenix is too.
So what is the actual gameplay? All I've ever seen is someone walking between cutscenes.
