If you want touchpads, put them under the screen instead of the keyboard. The battery in this device is also bigger than the one in the regular Deck. Some comfort must be sacrificed for size of course.
Is this a joke? Many PC games can be played via touchscreen alone, and many require just one analog stick. That's the 3DS form factor which is pretty damn small, and for anything that needs a second stick just slap another piece on the side JUST LIKE THE 3DS DID.
It doesn't have the play the latest games, it just has to play most of them. I'd buy a tiny Deck with a 1080 in it that was in the 3DS form factor. Either way you need it docked for any FPS games so it's not like the form factor even matters.
I can see them doing it a refresh or two down the road if the OG architecture can be shrunken down to Game Boy or PSP size. Playing Red Dead 2 at 60 FPS on something that small would be pretty wild.

gt 630m had a tdp of 33w. your gpu alone took like twice the power the entire deck does to run games. the advances in efficiency are pretty insane imo.
anyway the real problem is that batteries havent gotten, and arent going to get any better any time soon so portable x86 devices wont get a lot tinier unless you want the battery to last 15 minutes.

They don't have jobs, and view sitting in a chair at a desk playing video games their biggest pleasure and escape. There's a "NoNpDrm Plugin PSVITA" bit there on that site, but the guide on how to do that has to do with a physical vita console, doesn't it?

I grew up with the original Game Boy and then got a Game Gear. I didn't go anywhere without them. They were both fricking massive compared to my OLED Switch. I literally carried my GG around in a small suitcase. Any bumfrick cell phone today does more than either the GB or GG. That's what kids use today. You think these systems were portable because that's what you grew up with, but there's no going back. I have my top dozen or so PSP and Vita games on my fricking iPhone, but I spend a lot less time playing them because I'm no longer a child, but I play my Switch everyday, almost always in handheld. Those aren't portable consoles; those are handhelds.
Kind of funny how 30 years after the fact someone actually made the Virtual Boy concept work and unlike the original Virtual Boy you can actually use it anywhere.
Just get the next Switch model. None of these companies are going back to a handheld only market not that the technology has gotten to a point where modern console games can run on a handheld. I have my top dozen or so PSP and Vita games on my fricking iPhone, but I spend a lot less time playing them because I'm no longer a child, but I play my Switch everyday, almost always in handheld. Those aren't portable consoles; those are handhelds.
Kind of funny how 30 years after the fact someone actually made the Virtual Boy concept work and unlike the original Virtual Boy you can actually use it anywhere.

Not to mention, the games on iPhone are 100x better in every aspect of a game.

I'd love a new vita, but I don't trust modern sony one bit.
Just get the next Switch model. None of these companies are going back to a handheld only market not that the technology has gotten to a point where modern console games can run on a handheld. Sony is the last company to care about smaller, handheld titles at this point. Their entire strategy is to do nothing but cinematic experiences.

Wish I never sold my entire video game collection I spent my entire life slowly building up. Hit rock bottom with booze and drugs in my 20s and had to sell them to pawnshops for a quick buck. Tried to sell them on amazon/ebay for their real value but i needed the money asap. These pawnshops got highly well taken care of games, most of my cases had no stratches, as did the discs, they all had the booklets.. I can only hope some autist who cares about gaming bought them and has them displayed in his game room
To this day, I still don't know why they killed the 3DS so they could go all in on the Switch's portability.

It's a shame that the only truly pocketable handhelds we have now are smartphones and chinkshit emulators... frick you, Nintendo, and frick you too, Sony... also, frick Microsoft for never making a handheld and frick SEGA for dropping out of the industry and never making a Game Gear 2.
