As a fan of the Resistance series it always pissed me off how a big bad threat from outer space that's the overlords to the chimera was ultimately never shown because Insomniac and Sony got into a b***hoff and ended the series the way they did with 3.

I only ever played Dead Space, never tried the sequels since I heard Isaac has a voice actor and that threw me off. I will likely try it once I'm done with what is left of my backlog.

What fundamental changes does the remake have over the original? And I don't mean stupid gay stuff like gender neutral bathrooms, I can ignore things like that. I mean gameplay changes or plot revisions.
The Ishimura is now fully open
The game naturally encourages backtracking through stuff like security clearance levels
Weapons are naturally found in the environment instead of being bought at the shop
Weapons have new alt fires and many weapons are far better now like the flamethrower
And Necromorphs randomly spawn now as the game has an a.I and intensity director making encounters a lot less scripted
And combat fells a lot more fluid now
Gameplay:
>necros are much harder to stagger, but don't charge as often
>impalement from 2, but necro blades do half as much damage as regular pointy sticks
>Zero-G from 2
>Turret sections replaced, but replacements are pretty good
>Boss fights are pretty much the same
>some alt fire modes are different, mostly for the better

I played Dead Space when it first came out and I thought the remake was great
It felt to me like a game made by people who liked Dead space and respect the game lore and setting
While some story beats are kind of iffy to me like Kyne being such a downgrade here I found myself enjoying it from start to finish

I remember having this thought regarding some other similarly evil 'get turned into an abomination' experience back when I was a teenager. Later on, I decided judging a book by its cover is a good idea.
If you want my purely autismal perspective on such a thing, the best I can imagine would be that it's really, really fun to be a necromorph, but fun in the same way you had fun as a child playing a shitty video game with lots of bright colors and explosions. At best you're completely lobotomized and have no higher thought process besides immediately running at the nearest living creature to eviscerate it so you can see pretty colors and hear funny sounds.
