If I were a Sora fan, I'd not be an absolute fricking autist and spend my one chance at representing a franchise I like properly on a character I KNOW can't be represented perfectly because half of his appeal hangs on IP that can't join the game.
This is what Sora fans got. Half-baked representation. But I'll not play dumb - I see them rejoicing! But this raises yet another question: A dude that rejoices at this doesn't come off to me as a Kingdom Hearts fan, but as a "Sora" fan. Because Kingdom Hearts isn't being represented with all fanfare other franchises got.

Spirits, assist trophies, mii costumes, etc. are things you look at once or twice, then never again. Marth isn't magically better because Caeda is a spirit. Marth is good because Marth is fun to play as. Sora will be the same way.

To be fair, I think Doomguy fits good as a Mii Fighter, it's a great compromise.
I think it sucks dick. I feel like a lot of projectile based characters got shafted to Mii Gunner hell just because it was one size fits all.

People got their hopes up by the tweet because they thought Sakurai was doing a west-centric pick and that's why he had to apologize to Japan beforehand because he knew it would be someone they wouldn't know and that they wouldn't be happy. But turns out the tweet didn't mean anything because it's one of the most popular video game characters ever.
