MSQ is mainly canned animations and basic story writing. Investment? What are they investing exactly? Nothing has really improved on the MSQ end of things mechanically. The Cash Shop is taking the majority of investments in this game because it gives back significantly more than it takes in. A good chunk of Crystal players probably drop 3-4x the monthly sub fee in just Fantasia alone if not more cosmetics.

you can see the queue move in batches of 4 when you’re world travelling to an shb or ew s-rank that’s just been called. it takes about 3minutes for the servers to world travel 50 players so that should give you an idea of how shitty the login servers are. on aether, people don’t even bother waiting for 3mins before pulling and killing the s rank so if you’re more than 50 in the world travel queue, you might as well give up

PF has had non-stop ERP shit clogging it up for years. Mods also don't stop at aesthetic changes. Auction bots, pvp addons, and raiding addons have all been hurting the game in long-term ways for a while now. I wish there were more done about mods, even if that has to mean just banning all of them.

Chore Fantasy 14 is so fricking boring I genuinely do not understand why so many people including like half of my friends play this shit. I played ALL the way to the part where it "gets good" and it was still:

These type of quests make up 90% of the story. Most of the time you don't even kill mobs. The other thing is movement- it's so incredibly boring considering the fact that it's 95% of what you're doing. Even on a mount you're still laughably slow compared to the huge maps you're expected to navigate.
I'm convinced the ONLY reason people play this is because of how popular it is. The gameplay just doesn't stand on its own.
Probably because Runescape was built from the ground up as a sort of point'n'click/tabletop mashup and was fundamentally better suited to more complex quest design. Even when they wanted to, Blizzard really had to fight their own engine any time they wanted to do a quest that wasn't just "talk to NPC", "kill Mob", or "gather item". Plus unlike Runescape's more Adventure Game/roleplay roots, WoW was coming right off the heels of Evergrind and people were expecting grind and fetch quest style stuff out of that sort of game.
I'm just waiting for them to talk about what they plan to do with criterions.

it only does that during large player influxes like expansion releases
you can see the queue move in batches of 4 when you’re world travelling to an shb or ew s-rank that’s just been called. it takes about 3minutes for the servers to world travel 50 players so that should give you an idea of how shitty the login servers are. on aether, people don’t even bother waiting for 3mins before pulling and killing the s rank so if you’re more than 50 in the world travel queue, you might as well give up

These type of quests make up 90% of the story. Most of the time you don't even kill mobs. The other thing is movement- it's so incredibly boring considering the fact that it's 95% of what you're doing. Even on a mount you're still laughably slow compared to the huge maps you're expected to navigate.
I'm convinced the ONLY reason people play this is because of how popular it is. The gameplay just doesn't stand on its own.

Probably because Runescape was built from the ground up as a sort of point'n'click/tabletop mashup and was fundamentally better suited to more complex quest design. Even when they wanted to, Blizzard really had to fight their own engine any time they wanted to do a quest that wasn't just "talk to NPC", "kill Mob", or "gather item". Plus unlike Runescape's more Adventure Game/roleplay roots, WoW was coming right off the heels of Evergrind and people were expecting grind and fetch quest style stuff out of that sort of game.

I feel like CBU3 should try to throw around some of the newer quest types they've been introducing into earlier MSQ stuff.
Solution: Return exploratory content with all its mounts, glamour, armors, minions, haircut etc. rewards BUT the relic remains a press button receive weapon outside of it. Now you have content that people will run because they either want to make money buy selling the rare drops from there or they want glamour just like how people still run eureka for the glow armor.
And the morons get to log in, get their glow stick, then return to spending their sub on afking.
