OK was... well, ok. Not something I'd personally ditch the first two games for but better than the three games before it. Don't have much interest in replaying any of them though.
Because it's the game that holds more nostalgia for me, simple as
When I played TTYD as a kid I was at an age where I could comprehend what was going on but not necessarily retain it, by SPM I was old enough to do both
Yeah, it's still my belief that Super was made as a Spin-Off (look at the change in title conventions alone) and just released at the wrong time inadvertently causing the hellscape we have now.
Almost makes me feel bad for the game.
Spot on. This seems to be the case. It was also intended to release on the Gamecube before being moved to the more wildly successful Wii which lends credence to the theory. Someone at Intelligent Systems loved those chapter break Bowser levels in TTYD so much that they made an entire game based on them. Unfortunately unlike most spin-offs they never went back kek.
I agree with that sentiment. Only downside was that my first copy of the game crashed whenever you had to chase that spider boss and I had to return it. TTYD had better zones though. I loved the tree zone for example.
>anon has a shit opinion
Many such cases, unfortunately. Paper Mario is now, officially, a shit series as there are far more bad games than good ones (and as we all know, the only two GOOD Paper Mario games are 64 and TTYD. Everything else is trash)
Gimmie a break, it was the first one I ever played and turn based rpg games were completely foreign to me at the time so I enjoyed the action rpg gameplay of this one.
I remember crying as a kid when I died on level 99 of the pit trial thing
It’s not but I still assert that has appreciable qualities. It’s writing, it’s artstyle, it’s settings, it’s music, and especially it’s theming and story. The actual gameplay, not so much.
you here to kill them or somethin?
ye
I think we can all agree Origami King sucks.
Nah, TOK is good, super is the one that sucks

Super Paper Mario has a better story and characters, TTYD has better gameplay, level design and aesthetics
>Super Paper Mario has a better story
lol
>and characters
LOL

how?
I see it as it’s own unique thing, you guys always compare it with the 2 that came before it and let that ruin the game for you

they llied
Correct
>300 SPM threads over the past day
Are super paper mario gays really that insecure?
I agree with that sentiment. Only downside was that my first copy of the game crashed whenever you had to chase that spider boss and I had to return it. TTYD had better zones though. I loved the tree zone for example.

Not really better, but almost as good. I love this game and have admittedly played it a lot more than TTYD
You don't deserve to live.

I'm glad they dropped the weird OC creatures. Does ANYBODY know in the slightest what these three are supposed to be based on?
I kinda liked the one on the right
I thought these guys were from ttyd
The first two are.
>touch enemy
>time wasted
FRICK YOU NINTENDO
>tfw unused data for a dark back cursya
imagine if that motherfricker was used
the middle is clearly a wizard
but why is it a weird ufo-ish thing (despite not being treated as alien) with four flipper-offers?

They are completely right
TTYD is a backtrack simulator
