I'm a soulsgay and at the end of the day I think I like the Nioh games more, even if there's more frustrating bullshit like pic related, frick this fight.
Well it's trying to be Dark Souls and some kind of DMC-lite where you can't fight in the air. It works but it also leads to way more instances where you say "how was that my fault" when you die
The problem isn't really the fight, as much as they make the mission available way too fricking early. The recommended level should have been 30 levels higher.
No the problem is he doesn't fricking obey the rules of the game. He has super armor on moves when you don't on the same moves, he double-casts spells when you can't, he has more toughness than his armor set grants, etc.
should I buy Nioh 2 bros?
I have about 100 hours in Nioh, 70/79 cheevos, finished all but a couple missions in the end game, level 6 in the Abyss, haven't gotten far in Way of the Strength.
I'm debating just dropping it for now and moving on to Nioh 2. Thoughts?
I love the game so I'd say yes, but wait until the PC version is on sale for the winter.

I mean I started with Demon Souls, I've beaten all of the games multiple times with different builds, I enjoy them all immensely and did both ganking pvp and fight clubs, I like to think that I qualify as a soulsgay. But I'd be lying if I said the combat in those games tend to be overly simplistic, and while that's not a bad thing, it did leave me hungering for something a little more mechanically complex and Nioh filled that void.
It started as an imitator, it became something else entirely by the end. Also that's a terrible mindset to have, by that logic you should never try SotN because Super Metroid exists.
The only way this statement makes sense is if you're saying that soulsgays are close-minded buttholes who refuse to try new things out of stubbornness or pride. All you're doing is insulting them and making them look like a shitty community.
I just wished the loot elements were simplified for the next one. The first game was manageable but now that I have to manage soul cores too, it drives me up the wall
No one will make threads about the various other actual souls clones out there because there would be no point since none of them improve of the franchise’s shortcomings

Sure why not, its a good game, playing back to back both games can make you feel burnt out, but i did nioh 1 and 2 back to back and it felt fine, i enjoyed them both a lot, i still hop on nioh 2 for some boss action, the endgame in nioh 2 is good, i wish some nioh 1 bosses were in nioh 2 though

I’m a soulsgay and liked this game

Nioh is definitely a massive improvement on the combat, it’s one of the few soul-likes that actually innovate instead of just copying dark souls

He also input-reads like a b***h.
You aren't true Soulsborne fans.

No you don't. A true Soulsborne fan wouldn't waste his time with imitators.
It started as an imitator, it became something else entirely by the end. Also that's a terrible mindset to have, by that logic you should never try SotN because Super Metroid exists.
It’s not an imitator, it’s a true evolution of the genre.

>continues making the same bait threads daily
>makes the same moronic take every time
its good but not perfect
I love this game

Loot will stay in Nioh. Now if they made a spiritual successor without the loot autism on the other hand...
step aside
>the perfect bullshit enemy doesn't exi-
why do people start off nioh threads with bait
It's literally just a single shitposter who posts the same bait Nioh thread every day.
Because Nioh actually stands on its own
No one will make threads about the various other actual souls clones out there because there would be no point since none of them improve of the franchise’s shortcomings
Yes
Love nioh 1 and 2 but these threads are getting to me
Im tired of the comparison, who the frick cares, just play whatever you want
Should action games have tab targeting or auto targeting fampais?
Ocarina of Time has conditioned me to games having a lockon button
Auto targeting as in batman games? frick no
Lock on is fine, but lack of lock on is good too, like in MH its pretty good to not have lock on

What build can beat all 100 levesl of the depths?
It's freaking difficult
Switchglaive Onmyo build has never failed me, it has the tools to tackle any situation.
For me it's Odachi Onmyo but I respect your decision.
>Odachi Onmyo
a man of refinement and grace
It does exist, but has yet to come out.
Will this one let you make a big tiddy demon waifu? No? Ok then it's inferior then
I'm getting filtered bros...
