The people actually playing palworld? Why the frick would anyone do that for a game they might be legitimately enjoying (and spend their time actually playing). Most of that spam is either bots or shitposters who've never even played it.
Bring the world together?? This is the most corporate statement ever. I’m so done with this diversity and inclusion world peace for all bullshit. Don’t fall for these crooks
We're going to continue with our plans for an ILCA developed Black and White remake and aim for a goal of 10 FPS in honor of the 10th generation of pokemon games
I can just imagine droves of 30+ year old losers spamming TPCi's emails about the Palworld game and they just had to give out a statement to quash any rumors. This reeks the typical cooperate speak for "yeah yeah we know"
They don't, that's the point. This statement was purely made to address the huge amount of inquires they got from the fans. If they said absolutely nothing people would have been suspicious.
That doesn't mean they'll do anything of course.
That's a great image! I do think this statement is corporate speak for: "stfu we know." The Pokemon mod that went viral was taken down immediately. Palworld is still up, so I think it's safe to say that TPC doesn't have a case against the game itself.
That's fair but the game has been up for days, and I think they wouldn't hesitate to shut it down if they had reasonable cause or suspicion of copyright infringement.
Look, the last time Nintendo launched a big lawsuit against a game like this, Tear Ring Saga, it took two months for the lawsuit to happen and what got happened there was more blatant originally. These things take time
DCMA is entirely different to drafting a legal challenge and Nintendo et al will not want to go in half-wienered (remember how they subpoenaed every little bit of info about the guidebook leakers before finally bringing them into court to face the music?).
"We know" is as much a "You can stop sending word in now" as it is "we're readying our retort". You don't want to do this shit half-arsed but you give your opponent enough rope, they'll hang themselves.
Pokemon's had almost 3 decades worth of advertisement and slapping Pikachu onto every single possible product in existence so for this to even come close and outsell Pokemon's "we're actually trying really hard this time" game is embarrassing.

Not really, see where it ends up lifetime, if it doesn't get shitcanned or forced to HEAVILY edit all the pokémon inspiration out entirely to see how popular it is then. Most who're buying in are because "le pokémonalike mit gunne" after all. And that's leeching off the IP at the least.
I'm so tired of seeing this, they're comparing a game that is only available on 1 console (Legends) to a game that's on multiple consoles (Palworld) of fricking course it's gonna have more sales when it has more reach to players through different consoles.
Why are you people so fricking moronic?
You're comparing JAPAN sales for Legends to WORLD WIDE sales for Palworld, you can't compare 1 country's sales to the entire fricking worlds.
GF, no, but TPC yes. They're experts at handling stuff like this, that's literally what Nintendo and Game Freak created them for; to handle shit like this so they don't have to.
Nintendo and TPC might be a little different in that regard idk, but as a Melee/PM fan I can trll you Nintendo has no shame.
They tried to take Melee out of EVO in 2013 after winning a donation drive (for breast cancer iirc), they took out all PM vods through legal threats, they nuked The Big House online during covid that was running on fan-made rollback netcode, and recently they released a huge statement with a ton of legal jargon and very strict restrictions onbwhwt tournaments can be allowed. Those bastards don't give a shit. Not to mention the long history with games like Prism and Uranium.
There's a difference between a company making a derivative of your work, and pedophiles being the face of one of your brands. Nintendo hasn't been harsh enough with managing competitive smash
I still chuckle that like every major smash player in the span of two weeks turned out to be pedos, so personally I don't really care that nintendo shits on the smash community
Nintendo was sabotaging competitions over a decade before allegations came out against those sickos that were ousted. Sakurai and Nintendo just hate their games being played competitively and interfere with sponsorship deals too. It's nothing to praise them for.
I still chuckle that like every major smash player in the span of two weeks turned out to be pedos, so personally I don't really care that nintendo shits on the smash community
>pedophiles being the face of one of your brands
On what earth are competitive smash pedos the "face of one of their brands"?
as always, it's just a free excuse to shut the tournament down and punish the 95%
Exactly. At the end of the day the competitive aspect of Smash is niche anyways compared to the market, and a group of bozos and sickfricks doesn't represent the majority that just wanna game in peace.
But the current games do not have the nostalgia of the very young, which bleaches ALL problems away leaving only happy memeories while the new games are nothing but the flaws and the happy memories well doesn't work, because they enjoyed the generation rather than the gameplay because cards at school, cartoon on telly and events in game shops, but why play the games when all this is out.
>the current games are better
I can sleep happy knowing you're genuinely a moron and everything you accomplish in life is because of someone else doing it for you.
Cope, seethe and mald, moron.
I'm pretty sure a good few infringe on GF intellectual property (as the original creators of the designs) and if that's true, it's a matter of how many and how so.
You sure they're not talking about the Palworld Pokemon mod that they already shut down? The one where the player characters was replaced with Ash and the pals were replaced with Pokemon?
The thing with that mod was the only real reason it was taken down was because it was not only a mod using their assets, but the fact that the guy paywalled it. This statement implies lots of people messages then, which means it's regarding Palworld itself rather than the mod.
They are very litigious so they would have done a cease and desist already if that was their intent. I think they are playing the long game and want to build a case to sue them for damages and shut them down permanently. With a cease and desist they could just change the models and everything stays the same.
>company set up to handle the marketing of the brand, production of spin-off games , the trading card game, production of merchandising and facilitation of sponsorships, collaborations and special events as well as overall protection of the brand in protecting the brand shocker
TPC aren't involved in the Game Freak game production cycle, Because Game Freak own them and tasked them with the duties I listed, to allow Game Freak keep working on their kiddy game series without needing to drag staff away to look at product approvals, marketing suggestions, collaboration proposals and everything that was snowing Tajiri under during making Gen 2 as the hype machine had started building the pokémon perpetuation machine and Nintendo was releasing merch to meet the newfound demand for pokémon.
It's already been proven by 3D modellers that they didn't steal shit and Pokemon fanboys made it all up. Did they trace the design? Yes, obviously. Did they steal the model? No, not at all and that's a proven fact. There's no legal precedent for tracing being plagiarism when it comes to 3D models so they can't do shit about it.
Why would a modeler create the exact same hair strand formations on each side of the Primarina hair? If they're making it from scratch they could just, you know, not do that at all.
Is that enough for TPC to gamble on it though? If they end up with a judge that doesn't see that way and sides against them they'll be a laughing stock.
3D modeller here, this is bullshit. Adding extra vertices to a stolen model to say "look, it's different!" is extremely easy. Literally a few clicks of work. Also, even if the models are "traced" rather than edited, that's still effectively bootlegging. If a Chinese military company stole an F-22, dismantled it and reproduced it by studying the parts and making minimal changes, it's still a bootleg.
if going to themodelsresource and cutting and pasting different model parts together while doing minimal changes counts as "from scratch" then i must be an amazing pixel artist for doing the same thing but with sprites
Yeah I'm not a 3D modeller (I downloaded blender like 2 months ago) and part about having the same number of vertice raised my eyebrows too
Like, the first thing I did after getting blender is slightly modifying pokemon models, which does change the number of vertices.

In fact these are the things that differ the most from primarina's model
>game in development for 3 years >nintendo does nothing >game about to release >nintendo does nothing >game releases >nintendo does nothing >game sells a milliong copies at light speed >nintendo does nothiing >days pass, game sells 7 million more copies >nintendo does nothing
compare
>modders release a single mod that replaces some pals with pokemon >nintendo nukes the mod from orbit within 8 hours
Nothing will happen, people will forget this drama in a year when the next Pokemon game comes out and Gamefreak adds a new revolutionary feature like overworld dances instead of the option of skipping the 3 hour tutorials and cutscenes.
When Palworld gets sued and dies, is there any chance that another game could take its place? Or are all others doomed to be seen as "just a Palworld rehash"? Has the monster catching genre been doomed?
They just need to not ape the designs. The Pokemon models might not have been stolen, but they were definitely aped. Primarina's hair is the most egregious example. Not stolen, but clearly copied.
Maybe Pocket Pair can get away with it by saying "it's just a homage, we'll edit it".
Just don't trace designs and you're completely fine. Cassette Beasts released last year and is a fantastic monster catching game with extremely original designs.
Frick originality, man. Palworld is a game that embraces it's faux origins and does something fun with it. Imagine if you could have fun with your Pokemon anytime you wanted to in a video game.
I think what finally set them over the edge was the reception the game was getting. They've been observing and were surprised it made it this far. It'll look bad for their own games if they stayed quiet.
Am I the only one in thinking that this is the worst thing The Pokemon Company could have done? They just added fuel to the fire on the Palworld craze.
>make a Pokemon mod using literal Pokemon models >put it behind your Patreon AKA you are now making money off another's IP
If Palworld somehow get punished for that, he's gonna get crucified
I actually appreciate the CEO's "I'm not even trying to be original lol" attitude way more than all the disingenuous people trying to claim Palworld is completely original. The game is very fun and I've been having a blast playing it, but it's about as original as this backpack is.
I mean if you take two or more ideas you think are good and combine them in a way that the public enjoys then it's okay to reuse ideas.
As long as it's not proven that they actually stole assets made and paid by nintendo they are okay.
Because it's embarrassing them. They pride themselves on high quality games. "Nintendo seal of approval". Don't forget that they apologized for SV back when it was released.
The "Seal of Approval" was a guarantee the game wouldn't frick your system up, not that the game was a paragon of video game development, you zoomie shithead.
Did you not read the image I provided? They still checked the shit to ensure it wouldn't fail a system. They chamnged the name of the thing as the company owner was no longer personally checking them, for himself, they still didn't give a frick if it was a bit shitty compared to other games on the system which you seem to think meant it does ( I played PLENTY of shit NES games that had the quality mark. But they worked, so they got the seal).
Assuming that you unironically believe this, you are fricking moronic to think that it would be a financially sound decision to kill one of the biggest franchises in the world, even if the latest Pokemon game was not up to par.
Imagine being a pokegay and seething so hard you cry for TPC (a company that doesn't care about you) to take down Palworld because people are having fun playing that instead of doing BBQs or raids.
yeah, the past five years have really done a good job at showing how cultlike the fanbase has become
I don't think I've seen even a single other series where people defending every single aspect of the games is not only an actual thing, but commonplace.
>morons actually believing TPC or Nintendo will do anything about Palworld
The fact that they copyright struck the shit out of the Palworld modder and not sent a C&D to the Palworld devs over the past 3 years is a bad look. Also, both companies know that Microsoft is deep in Palworld's pockets, it's a fight they don't want to pick.
Sorry for the source being a shitty vtuber, who cares.
The point still stands - person that was yelling "LOOK, COPIED MODELS" falsified everything to be silly and because muh animal abuse.
I don't know if it's just ESLs or kids or what but it's insane how many people seem to think the fact they said they scaled up a model means that they admitted they made it from scratch themselves to frame Palworld through a false comparison. They just changed the size of the model so the comparison is easier to see, they didn't change anything else about it. Those specific details being exactly the same are still real.
The issue was always ripping and stealing the actual Pokemon assets you illiterate baboons. This developer is infamous for shitting out low quality cashgrab ripoffs, Craftopia literally stole Moblins and Bokoblins from BOTW with very little editing. Shovelware like Palworld and Craftopia isn't uncommon and usually goes unbothered since these kinds of ripoffs never sell. If TPCi's lawyers think there's a case, Palworld is gonna get their shit sued to death.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLhAVeInRJY ...And they will nothing because person that made all the claims is an attention-seeking prostitute that made up all the "proof". It's over.
Sorry for the source being a shitty vtuber, who cares.

pointed out - homosexual claiming that Palworld ripped assets from Pokemon is full of shit and lied for attention.
It's over. I doubt that Nintendo will acknowledge existence of Palworld beyond this statement. Hell, if there's nothing actually illegal in Palworld we may end seeing it on Switch, would be funny.
Faked. The guy admitted he scaled the models which is basically a programming term for making the model yourself. So basically he copied pokemon's model with his own model and then tried to shift the blame for it on palworld.
I'd fricking tell you to go read the definition of scaling but reading isn't your strong suit it appears

It has a different definition in the context of 3D modelling, dumbass. That's how words work, they mean different things in different contexts.
Anonymous
It means exactly what everyone has said it means though. It's purely changing the size of something. You can open up the console in any Bethesda game and type player.setscale # and it'll change your character's size. Because that's what scale means in a 3D model context.

Scaling on blender means pressing S to change the size of the model
3D modeller here, no idea what website you got that from(probably Google search) but that is not the accurate definition. Leave it to the experts from now on buddy.
Tetris Holding, LLC v. Xio Interactive, Inc., 863 F.Supp.2d 394 (D.N.J. 2012), was a 2012 American legal case related to copyright of video games, confirming that a game's look and feel can be protected under copyright law. Tetris Holding is a company that holds the copyright to the original Tetris game from 1985 and licenses those rights to game developers. Xio Interactive is a game developer that released Mino in 2009, a mobile game based on the gameplay of Tetris. Mino was downloaded millions of times, and Tetris Holding filed a DMCA notice and eventually a lawsuit against Xio for copyright infringement.
The earliest video game case law had protected the designs in Galaxian and Pac-Man. But later cases such as Data East USA, Inc. v. Epyx, Inc. found that it is permissible to make a video game clone with similar ideas and principles as another game, since copyright does not protect an idea, only the specific expression of that idea. A trial occurred in 2012, the first case in a long time to proceed to trial on this issue. The district court ruled for Tetris Holding, with Judge Wolfson applying the Abstraction-Filtration-Comparison test to determine if any infringement occurred. Although standard gameplay ideas are not copyrightable, Mino was still substantially similar to Tetris in terms of its art style, and those elements are in fact protected by copyright. This case has since been applied in other copyright disputes to offer broader protection to the look and feel of video games.
Yes, and also - that law was made specifically to stop the "SUPER BLOCK GAME" stuff that is literally Tetris with different skin to be sold, not games that are from gameplay perspective wastly different and just share few similar graphics.
This law is worthless in this case. That anon is a wiener-slurping homosexual.
I don't remember that case, but do know there's only so close to pokémon you can get while charging for it and palworld's almost in their fricking trousers which is far too close to sustain legal challenge. Coupled with the CEO's statements on game development and it's looking to be an open-and-shut case for TPC.
Spry Fox, LLC v. Lolapps, Inc., No. 2:12-cv-00147 (W.D. Wash., 2012), was a court case between two video game developers, where Spry Fox alleged that the game Yeti Town, developed by 6waves Lolapps, infringed on their copyrighted game Triple Town. While the case was settled out of court, preliminary opinions by Judge Richard A. Jones affirmed that a video game's "look and feel" may be protected by copyright, affirming the federal district court decision in Tetris Holding, LLC v. Xio Interactive, Inc. from earlier the same year.
Despite the games having cosmetic differences with different settings, the similarities between the games were evidence that Yeti Town had illegally appropriated elements of Triple Town. The judge rejected a motion from 6waves Lolapps to dismiss the case, thus undermining their main defense, since the games did have several identical gameplay elements. In October 2012, the companies announced a settlement where Spry Fox would own the intellectual property for both games.
Pokémon doesn't let you shoot guns or build a base and uses a turn based battle system. You should be looking for cases about the character design, not the game mechanics.
Weird that when I throw the gameplay arguments out there to say Palworld can't replace Pokémon because it only superficially resembles it, I'm wrong. But now the same points come out to protect Palworld? Hypocrites.
Not saying you're a hypocrite, btw, just that no one's shutting on you for using the same arguments is pissing me off.

Crazy to see even TPC fall for the misinformation. Dude admitted he scaled the models himself, so they're not Palworld models in the comparisons. If the Palworld models were like that then wouldn't he'd use them instead of scaling his own to make the point?
The in-game models don't need to be stolen for them to be sued, just the basic designs. I hope Palworld somehow makes it out of this, but they should have spent money on better artists + modelers.
...except in this case Nintendo would need to open the entire "intellectual property" copyright can of worms and probably still would lose due to precedent. There's dozen and half games that have "designs similiar to Pokemon" and none of them got sued by Nintendo, TPC or anybody. It's this kind of case that would took years, multiple court cases and mental gymnastics of army of lawyers just to take down some FOMO game. I don't think that anybody at Nintendo or TPC is moronic enough to want to deal with it.
At best they may send C&D to PocketPair, at best PocketPair will change few in-game models... except they may also just ignore C&D and then Nintendo would need to actually sue them which again, may or may not work.
And considering that both companies are Japanese we talk about Japanese lawyers that are super hesitant to start cases with chance to fizzle. Japan's low crime rate is a thing only because of how moronic their lawyers are about numbers.
Only if they survive the lawsuit. And they will only get sued if there's a case. So what you're banking on is extremely unlikely - Palworld winning a case that actually gets mounted.
They copied Pokemon designs. They copied Primarina's hair down to the style. I know they didn't steal the models, but that's still not enough to prevent a lawsuit.
>Did you see this guy's comparison of Pinkachu and Pikachu? I think they might have plagiarised the design >Actually that's been debunked, he admitted that he scaled it to make the comparison which means he completely faked it
They copied Pokemon designs. They copied Primarina's hair down to the style. I know they didn't steal the models, but that's still not enough to prevent a lawsuit.
Anon, what you're talking about isn't fair use so you already have no idea what the frick you're saying. What I imagine you're talking about doesn't apply to this stuff. Taking inspiration, even taking strong inspiration to the point of the design being extremely reminiscent is fully legal.
Basically: "Y'all done b***hed about this so much we had to say something. We ain't gonna do shit, else woulda already done it (we knew about this since 2021). Now if we find something, sure we'll say something. Stop being corporate snitches and leave us alone"
No. They took down a Pokemon related mod the same day. They are experts when it comes to enforcing their copyright. I don't see anything coming of TPC's statement except inadvertently bringing way more attention to Palworld. They shouldn't have said anything at all, regardless of their grounds for copyright infringement.
THEY ARE IN TRAILER YOU OBESE MONGOLOID. YOU FOOL, moronic FROG, ABSOLUTELY IDIOTIC CREATURE. Your parents should be ashamed that they gave life to a mistake of nature like you. Don't even think about killing yourself, that would be a waste of perfectly fine rope or knife or gun or whatever.
Pokemon designs are the opposite of trivial. The ARK ripoffs are almost entirely in the form of mechanics and progression. Those generally aren't copyrighted things. Hundreds of survival crafting-type games utilize those mechanics and it's rare that you can copyright a gameplay mechanic. The designs ARE a problem and CAN get them in trouble.
And for any brainlets out there yes this is a process that takes time. You don't just look at Palworld, see Cremis, say "Wow, that's blatantly an Eevee" and file a lawsuit. You then have to look through every monster design in the game and catalog what, if anything, appears to be stolen to build as strong a case as possible. Given that people are already comparing the models that probably means doing the same for every Pal in the game, and given that some pals appear to be amalgamations of multiple Pokemon it means probably doing it multiple times for every single one to find out every single thing possible. You don't rush into a case like this if there's more evidence to accumulate.
is it not possible they did not realize the extent of the issue until the game was out
Even in the original there's some questionable ones like that flying dragon that really looks a lot like a Reshiram, but that's not enough to base a lawsuit off of. It could be coincidence, it could be changed later in development. The situation becomes wildly different once the game is released and a studio is making money off of it.
anon don't be a moron.
They all look like fluffy mascot animals. Gamefreak cannot just sue for that and even if they would try to do just that, everything would fall apart the moment someone would raise questions about literal hundreds of cases when they did not. The precedent is against Nintendo.
yknow if this was a 2d game they probably could've gotten away with the frankensteining pokemon models because at least with sprites you can change just about enough of it to get away with it without almost nobody noticing but its way too obvious here that they're just took bits and stuff from other models and maybe changed one or two things about it
That mod looked like it was blatantly using the actual Pokemon models. Palworld itself is one thing when it looks like the models were kitbashed + stealing the designs, but that looked like actual Pikachu and Torterra models straight out of SV in the mod.
So Gen 10's pretty much confirmed to have extremely rudimentary base building and being able to send your Pokemon out on resource hunting tasks, right?
But GameFreak rebrands mechanics and advertises them as shiny new things all the time.
Type Gems? No, no, you mean Z-Crystals, which let you use Z-Moves! Oh, no, wait my bad never mind, you mean TERASTALLIZATION, yeah that's right.
My headcanon since the team star base raid and the pokémon sync is that GF is testing out having pokémon fight in real time akin to an action-RPG or RTS. Though that's probably the kind of stuff we'll see in a Legends game.
Nah, they see that too much like secret bases and Pokejobs.
its very funny none of the people who claim "ackshually scaling means something else in 3d modeling" have actually elaborated on what that something else is
or why byo would use that technical of a word
anyone with a fricking brain can google "what does scaling mean in 3d" to find out its the same exact fricking term paltards really are fricking brainlets
why does this game have so many fricking shills? i have a hard time believing so many actual human beings are playing this game and talking about it. whenever someone calls it out for being a soulless cynical ripoff, some homosexual always comes up with an excuse for it.
no one wants to admit that what they're enjoying is "bad" or "flawed" anymore
things would be much better if people just admit that you can enjoy stuff in spite of flaws sometimes this applies to both pokemon and palworld lol
Its just a bunch of steamgays shitposting or legitimately believing that this early access slop is totally different and unique from other monthly early access survival slop because of the pokemon skin
this is unprecedented, gamefreak has never issued a statement like this
even if it essentially says "stop emailing us about the streamer slop flavor of the month"
at the end of the day, the asset flip will die like all UE5 market place asset flips before.
By the way even if they did steal there's no way to prove it since they physically backed up each iteration of the game separately
There's no digital paper trail to follow to origin
Your image is a terrible argument to defend your game.
Top looks like an unreal engine 3 demo Pokemon can look like anything from poorly drawn doodles to hiperealistic CGI and you still know it's Pokemon.
plagiarsm justifies itself, for it is the basis on which all things are made; gamefreaks laziness justifies the moolah palworld is rolling in right now.
>plagiarsm justifies itself, for it is the basis on which all things are made
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.
>gamefreaks laziness justifies the moolah palworld is rolling in right now.
I honestly doubt Game freak paid a bunch of shills to advertise that game.
one grave mistake TPC committed was not letting Hoe-girlve play the main games aside from that very short time frame they're allowed to whenever one gets released. Meanwhile, they gave Hoe-girlve early access to Palworld, and considering the massive shilling power this company has, it made people interested in that game. couple in it being actually a good game, no wonder why it's such a massive success.

I can just imagine droves of 30+ year old losers spamming TPCi's emails about the Palworld game and they just had to give out a statement to quash any rumors. This reeks the typical cooperate speak for "yeah yeah we know"
don't people realize that even if palworld ripped off pokemon, there's almost no chance of an actual case against them?
They don't, that's the point. This statement was purely made to address the huge amount of inquires they got from the fans. If they said absolutely nothing people would have been suspicious.
That doesn't mean they'll do anything of course.
That's a great image! I do think this statement is corporate speak for: "stfu we know." The Pokemon mod that went viral was taken down immediately. Palworld is still up, so I think it's safe to say that TPC doesn't have a case against the game itself.
Taking down an actual video game and sending a C&D to an idiot modder are not the same thing
I doubt they'll actually take any action, because they know it'd make them look bad.
This is just to shut people up, they know Palworld will be forgotten by this time next month.
Didn't it beat their PLA sales?
nope, not even close
>Legends 3 day - 6.5m
>SV 3 day - 10m
>palshill 1st week - 7m
Big oof.
The numbers they are referring to are from Steam alone.
Pretty sure it's on Epic and Game pass, and they can't announce sales figures there.
Yes. Will probably beat SV's sales at this rate.
Why are you people so fricking moronic?
You're comparing JAPAN sales for Legends to WORLD WIDE sales for Palworld, you can't compare 1 country's sales to the entire fricking worlds.
No, because it launched at half the price.
It would have to sell twice as much as PLA to make up the difference.
>it’s make them look bad
>as if GF has ever cared about looking bad
FRICKING
LMAO
M
A
O
GF, no, but TPC yes. They're experts at handling stuff like this, that's literally what Nintendo and Game Freak created them for; to handle shit like this so they don't have to.
They'll look a bit worse than usual. Releasing a shitty game isn't on the same level as suing a competitor to death.
On the contrary. Frick compgays.
>pedophiles being the face of one of your brands
On what earth are competitive smash pedos the "face of one of their brands"?
as always, it's just a free excuse to shut the tournament down and punish the 95%
Exactly. At the end of the day the competitive aspect of Smash is niche anyways compared to the market, and a group of bozos and sickfricks doesn't represent the majority that just wanna game in peace.
>they noticed
that's all i wanted to know, hopefully it means they make the games better next
Black person the current games are better than whatever your favorite was.
Keep fricking crying
But the current games do not have the nostalgia of the very young, which bleaches ALL problems away leaving only happy memeories while the new games are nothing but the flaws and the happy memories well doesn't work, because they enjoyed the generation rather than the gameplay because cards at school, cartoon on telly and events in game shops, but why play the games when all this is out.
>the current games are better
I can sleep happy knowing you're genuinely a moron and everything you accomplish in life is because of someone else doing it for you.
Cope, seethe and mald, moron.
Palslop has more in common with nu pokemon than old pokemon
Black person
>we are talentless hack who need to sue and shut down any competition
LMAO if you think they actually give a shit about Palworld
The only way they'll give a shit if the assets can actually be proven to be stolen
I'm pretty sure a good few infringe on GF intellectual property (as the original creators of the designs) and if that's true, it's a matter of how many and how so.
They do if they felt the need too release that statement
No fangame player would report the game to Nintendo just to get it shutdown so that themselves can't play it, ever
TPCuck will KNEEL to Chadworld and lose in court.
We did it Xisters! xD
>We will continue to cherish and nurture each and every Pokemon and its world
TPC sidelines the Pokemon to focus on the trainers.
BUT ITS NOT POKÉMON RELATED REEEEE JUST TPC RESPONDED TO IT THAT’S NOT POKÉMON RELATED AT ALLLL
Aka please stop emailing us, loyal players we know please stop asking us to sue them we've seen it.
Nintendo fans are the only people who cry about fangames getting taken down after they've reported them.
ngl it'll be pretty funny if the frankenstein slop game gets taken down. but i doubt that'll happen
They are very litigious so they would have done a cease and desist already if that was their intent. I think they are playing the long game and want to build a case to sue them for damages and shut them down permanently. With a cease and desist they could just change the models and everything stays the same.
That's what I was thinking, nail 'em to a wall and send a lasting mesage to anyone getting uppity regarding their IP.
NIPPON STRONG
Palworld was literally made by nippons, you dork
>instead of working to actually improve our franchise's games we need to sue sue SUE
Frick TPC and any braindead drones defending them.
>company set up to handle the marketing of the brand, production of spin-off games , the trading card game, production of merchandising and facilitation of sponsorships, collaborations and special events as well as overall protection of the brand in protecting the brand shocker
Either way, the next Pokémon game is getting compared to Palworld and that might hurt their ego.
>Did they trace the design? Yes,
Soulless
It's going to be funny when the unpaid pokeshills realize their twitter edits and lies don't actually form a case
Why would a modeler create the exact same hair strand formations on each side of the Primarina hair? If they're making it from scratch they could just, you know, not do that at all.
Because they're moronic high schoolers.
Because they traced it. No one reasonable is denying that, but that isn't a crime. Not for 3D models at least.
>There's no legal precedent for tracing being plagiarism when it comes to 3D models
There's a first time for everything.
Is that enough for TPC to gamble on it though? If they end up with a judge that doesn't see that way and sides against them they'll be a laughing stock.
I wonder how much money this actually ended up costing Pokemon to investigate properly.
Actual fricking tards doing more damage than good.
Pocket Pair said they made the models from scratch.
Then they lied.
Proof?
The Luxray knockoff matches up EXACTLY with Luxray's model. There is no way on God's green Earth that there wasn't asset theft involved.
No it doesn't
Yes it does.
No, that person was wrong about the polygon count.
if going to themodelsresource and cutting and pasting different model parts together while doing minimal changes counts as "from scratch" then i must be an amazing pixel artist for doing the same thing but with sprites
Yeah I'm not a 3D modeller (I downloaded blender like 2 months ago) and part about having the same number of vertice raised my eyebrows too
Like, the first thing I did after getting blender is slightly modifying pokemon models, which does change the number of vertices.
exactly, this is what i was thinking too. it's super easy to edit.
Doesn't prove that the model was stolen and then edited though.
>hair strand formations on each side of the Primarina hair
In fact these are the things that differ the most from primarina's model
>game in development for 3 years
>nintendo does nothing
>game about to release
>nintendo does nothing
>game releases
>nintendo does nothing
>game sells a milliong copies at light speed
>nintendo does nothiing
>days pass, game sells 7 million more copies
>nintendo does nothing
compare
>modders release a single mod that replaces some pals with pokemon
>nintendo nukes the mod from orbit within 8 hours
I'd nuke the mod too if someone charged money for it.
If Palworld gets sued and died literally no one will try it again out of fear of being sued.
They just need to not ape the designs. The Pokemon models might not have been stolen, but they were definitely aped. Primarina's hair is the most egregious example. Not stolen, but clearly copied.
Maybe Pocket Pair can get away with it by saying "it's just a homage, we'll edit it".
The reason of why palworld is getting this backslash is bc the pal designs are almost carbon copies of pokemon.
>Imagine if you could have fun with your Pokemon anytime you wanted to in a video game.
Picnic exist?
They do, sadly.
Is this on an emulator? It actually doesn't look that bad in this image compared to the others I've seen of it.
If Palworld somehow immediately implodes and dies, I would expect a lot of copy cat monster catching ark games to come out.
Actually I expect this will happen anyways.
They haven't actually done anything yet, they're just investigating it.
If a lawsuit actually happens, it won't be until the Palworld hype dies down.
No, because the Internet is not real life. All the consolewarring drama is completely absent in most normalgays' minds.
>make a Pokemon mod using literal Pokemon models
>put it behind your Patreon AKA you are now making money off another's IP
If Palworld somehow get punished for that, he's gonna get crucified
Nintendo would probably have a better case with their previous game Craftopia than TPC would have with Pal World.
More. They barely tried to be original with Palworld's creatures, but they didn't try at all with Craftopia.
lmao this is so fricking shameless holy shit hahaha
>tried
its just fricking botw but in fortnite og graphics those are just reskinned goblinos from zelda
Holy shit this is such a ripoff of Genshin Impact.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Time to sit back and wait.
If sex lizard is so good why don't they make sex lizard 2?
The CEO's statement doesn't exactly help Palworld's case though.
Yeah that's a pretty bad statement to have put out there
I actually appreciate the CEO's "I'm not even trying to be original lol" attitude way more than all the disingenuous people trying to claim Palworld is completely original.
Nintendo should buy Palworld so they can use it to kill Pokemon. I'm sure their lawyers are better than TPC's.
Nintendo doesn't want to kill Pokemon you blithering moron
It's their biggest cash cow, why kill the golden goose
Because it's embarrassing them. They pride themselves on high quality games. "Nintendo seal of approval". Don't forget that they apologized for SV back when it was released.
im sure theyre crying as they sit in their scrooge mcduck money pit full of pokebucks
The "Seal of Approval" was a guarantee the game wouldn't frick your system up, not that the game was a paragon of video game development, you zoomie shithead.
Wrong. They continued using it long after that time period. They used it during the GameCube era.
The post literally says that.
Except they changed it from "Seal of Quality" to just "Seal"
Also, they could start over with a new, potentially even more profitable franchise. They could treat it like Pokemon 2. It would be a publicity stunt.
This is stupid, just let palworld release on the next switch and let them and pokemon wiener slap each other. It's better this way.
Also, both companies know that Microsoft is deep in Palworld's pockets, it's a fight they don't want to pick.
...And they will nothing because person that made all the claims is an attention-seeking prostitute that made up all the "proof". It's over.
what the frick is this gay shit
is this your youtube
Sorry for the source being a shitty vtuber, who cares.
The point still stands - person that was yelling "LOOK, COPIED MODELS" falsified everything to be silly and because muh animal abuse.
I don't know if it's just ESLs or kids or what but it's insane how many people seem to think the fact they said they scaled up a model means that they admitted they made it from scratch themselves to frame Palworld through a false comparison. They just changed the size of the model so the comparison is easier to see, they didn't change anything else about it. Those specific details being exactly the same are still real.
They mislead about the polygon counts too. They said there were the same number of polygons, but there aren't.
All I get from this is that people don't support good games. Both modern Pokemon and Palworld are terrible.
Name 5 good modern games
>t. fun police
Palworld is better than whatever slop you pretend to enjoy.
Palworld IS the very essence of slop. Go have fun with your fortnite/pokemon/genshin/breath of the wild/ark factory made clone.
if palworld is slop, then why arent you enjoying it?
The issue was always ripping and stealing the actual Pokemon assets you illiterate baboons. This developer is infamous for shitting out low quality cashgrab ripoffs, Craftopia literally stole Moblins and Bokoblins from BOTW with very little editing. Shovelware like Palworld and Craftopia isn't uncommon and usually goes unbothered since these kinds of ripoffs never sell. If TPCi's lawyers think there's a case, Palworld is gonna get their shit sued to death.
Yeah and as
pointed out - homosexual claiming that Palworld ripped assets from Pokemon is full of shit and lied for attention.
It's over. I doubt that Nintendo will acknowledge existence of Palworld beyond this statement. Hell, if there's nothing actually illegal in Palworld we may end seeing it on Switch, would be funny.
Where is the proof that the devs are using actual Pokemon assets?
Faked. The guy admitted he scaled the models which is basically a programming term for making the model yourself. So basically he copied pokemon's model with his own model and then tried to shift the blame for it on palworld.
>he scaled the models which is basically a programming term for making the model yourself
/v/eddit isn't sending their best and brightest
Dude he literally admitted to it. This isn't some baseless accusation, it's something they confessed to.
He resized them without changing the proportions you illiterate Black person.
That's not what he said. He said he scaled them himself and even apologised for it.
he admitted to scaling, you idiot
which doesnt change the model shape at all
You're genuinely fricking braindead if you can't see that you're directly contradicting yourself here.
no, you moron
take a 1x1x1 cube
if you expand this to a 2x2x2 cube its still a cube
I'd fricking tell you to go read the definition of scaling but reading isn't your strong suit it appears
It has a different definition in the context of 3D modelling, dumbass. That's how words work, they mean different things in different contexts.
It means exactly what everyone has said it means though. It's purely changing the size of something. You can open up the console in any Bethesda game and type player.setscale # and it'll change your character's size. Because that's what scale means in a 3D model context.
r/confidentlyincorrect
what does scaling mean then
moron please
Scaling on blender means pressing S to change the size of the model
Are Palbros moronic or just disingenuous?
>getting btfo on Ganker
>retreat to the echo chamber to make the same arguments
3D modeller here, no idea what website you got that from(probably Google search) but that is not the accurate definition. Leave it to the experts from now on buddy.
then what does it mean, so-called expert? Surely you have a concrete explanation and not "programmer term for making the model yourself"
So you are aware of what it actually means then, got it.
oh, you're the same illiterate moron. why did I even bother
paltards will gladly say 2+2=7000 and that apples are blue if it means they get to "dab" on gamefreak
>The guy admitted he scaled the models which is basically a programming term for making the model yourself
are you actually moronic or just pretended
is that the fricking yo mama guy? geg
Yeah. Diagnosed autist too, makes sense he'd be into early access crafting shit.
Jesus Christ My Lord and Saviour
Please, please eliminate TPCI and Game Freak from this world.
Game over for all the Palworld shills
This case has since been applied in other copyright disputes to offer broader protection to the look and feel of video games.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_Holding,_LLC_v._Xio_Interactive,_Inc.
Isn't that American law? Aren't the companies Japanese?
Even more game over for Palworld shills

>TPC ends up owening palworld
>shuts it down, changes it to a big advert for the new nintendo system and Detective Pikachu 3
Pokémon doesn't let you shoot guns or build a base and uses a turn based battle system. You should be looking for cases about the character design, not the game mechanics.
but it is using some of PLA's, specifically the throwing spheres to catch shit
If that's the case, then every FPS is ripping off Doom.
correct
that's why back in the day they got called doom clones
And are Doom clones illegal to make? No? Then why would Palworld be?
well most of those doom clones were smart enough not to put lightly edited cacodemon sprites into their game
Nothing's going to happen, autism-kun.
>We will continue to cherish and nurture each and every Pokemon and its world
No you fricking won't
>whaaaa dexit reeee
They still value every 'mon, because they can sell merch of them all, you odious little drone.
by that anon they mean CHARIZARD it's the only pokemon you'll ever need
They gave them new models in SV
Crazy to see even TPC fall for the misinformation. Dude admitted he scaled the models himself, so they're not Palworld models in the comparisons. If the Palworld models were like that then wouldn't he'd use them instead of scaling his own to make the point?
You don't need to give a shit about what the one dude said to see the blatant model copies like the Cinderace with your own eyes
Honestly I could give a shit about TPCi or Pocket Pair, I just wanna see what happens.
Is she going to have a Devilman Lady look
MY
FINAL
COPE
Palworld will only become more popular if Nintendo sue them
Only if they survive the lawsuit. And they will only get sued if there's a case. So what you're banking on is extremely unlikely - Palworld winning a case that actually gets mounted.
If they get sued, they'll cease to exist due to losing all their money.
So does this mean Pokemon Day is cancelled/or they're gonna actually make decent games? Frick yeah!
These announcements are probably planned months beforehand, so it's unlikely that Nintendo would suddenly cancel Pokemon Day.
I think it's about the Pokemon mod
>Some moron actually did this and got arrested
This. They're probably planning to take that down very soon. Like, in the next couple days soon.
the pokemon mod is already down
it was down long before this announcement
Nintendo (not TPC) already did that.
You guys suck dicks for real.
This is likely just in response to that one moron who was selling the Pokemon mod for Palworld.
Nintendo has no legal ground to sue the Palworld devs for anything.
They copied Pokemon designs. They copied Primarina's hair down to the style. I know they didn't steal the models, but that's still not enough to prevent a lawsuit.
>Did you see this guy's comparison of Pinkachu and Pikachu? I think they might have plagiarised the design
>Actually that's been debunked, he admitted that he scaled it to make the comparison which means he completely faked it
This is not grounds for a lawsuit.
it is
fair use doesnt exist in Japan and its pretty hard to deny that the Palworld devs directly based designs on Pokemon equivalents
If that was true then you probably wouldn't need to fake evidence to "prove" it. Just saying.
that guy doesnt work for nintendo and also it wasn't faked, look up what scaling means
look up Tear Ring Saga's lawsuit - it wasn't til 2 months afterwards.
I think this tweet sums up the situation perfectly. If Nintendo had grounds Palworld would be long gone by now.
Nintendo doesn't even make Pokemon games
If Nintendo EPD was making the games they would be as polished as Zelda and Mario games are.
Anon, what you're talking about isn't fair use so you already have no idea what the frick you're saying. What I imagine you're talking about doesn't apply to this stuff. Taking inspiration, even taking strong inspiration to the point of the design being extremely reminiscent is fully legal.
Waiting for the Hollow Knight devs to sue them when their Hollow Knight ripoff (Never Grave) comes out
>Hollow Knight devs now own rights for dark-blue pallete and platforming mechanics.
You are certified moron.
Never said they did, but considering Pocketpair's track record, it's pretty fricking obvious what the "inspiration" is
Inspiration is not illegal.
Again, you ARE certified moron.
Imagine thinking Nintendo/TPC would risk suing Palworld when any judge would throw it out instantly.
Nintendo got away with this because king kong was already public domain
>pokeshills spammed them so hard that TPC has to publically say "shut the frick up morons, we know the game exsits"
Basically: "Y'all done b***hed about this so much we had to say something. We ain't gonna do shit, else woulda already done it (we knew about this since 2021). Now if we find something, sure we'll say something. Stop being corporate snitches and leave us alone"
This. The game was announced 2 years ago and it didn't matter then. But now it does? Bullshit logic, /vp/.
?si=VeNxJqUI6jVilyUS
models werent out in 2021 you tard
The game has been in development since then, if TPC thought there was copyright infringement, they wouldn't have allowed the game to release.
is it not possible they did not realize the extent of the issue until the game was out
No. They took down a Pokemon related mod the same day. They are experts when it comes to enforcing their copyright. I don't see anything coming of TPC's statement except inadvertently bringing way more attention to Palworld. They shouldn't have said anything at all, regardless of their grounds for copyright infringement.
that takes a single c&d my guy
Yeah we couldn't convincingly fake comparisons back then!
>models wereneofkpoe out in 2021 yorkgor thard.
Palworld rips off Ark. Pokemans design thing are trivial.
They'll settle if Nintendo sue. They're making enough money to create their own style now
Pokemon designs are the opposite of trivial.
Even in the original there's some questionable ones like that flying dragon that really looks a lot like a Reshiram, but that's not enough to base a lawsuit off of. It could be coincidence, it could be changed later in development. The situation becomes wildly different once the game is released and a studio is making money off of it.
>Gamefreak owns rights to ambiguously feline an/or vulpine mascot characters.
Call me when they gonna sue Type Moon.
...Or not because that would open doors for Ghibli joining in and raping everyone for copying Teto from Nausicaa.
anon dont be disingenuous
cremis looks far more like eevee than either look like that
specifically gmax eevee
anon don't be a moron.
They all look like fluffy mascot animals. Gamefreak cannot just sue for that and even if they would try to do just that, everything would fall apart the moment someone would raise questions about literal hundreds of cases when they did not. The precedent is against Nintendo.
>We will continue to cherish and nurture each and every Pokémon
>leaves a majority of them out of every modern game
yknow if this was a 2d game they probably could've gotten away with the frankensteining pokemon models because at least with sprites you can change just about enough of it to get away with it without almost nobody noticing but its way too obvious here that they're just took bits and stuff from other models and maybe changed one or two things about it
if it was a 2d game no one would have paid any attention to them
The guy who made the Pokemon mod has finally talked about what happened.
Then why were they targeted?
That mod looked like it was blatantly using the actual Pokemon models. Palworld itself is one thing when it looks like the models were kitbashed + stealing the designs, but that looked like actual Pikachu and Torterra models straight out of SV in the mod.
Because it used actual copyrighted and trademarked elements owned by TPC?
That's completely legal unless you're charging for them.
if it was legal, nintendo couldnt nuke free fangames
So Gen 10's pretty much confirmed to have extremely rudimentary base building and being able to send your Pokemon out on resource hunting tasks, right?
Nah, they see that too much like secret bases and Pokejobs.
Though that's probably the kind of stuff we'll see in a Legends game.
bases should have been a permanent addition
its very funny none of the people who claim "ackshually scaling means something else in 3d modeling" have actually elaborated on what that something else is
or why byo would use that technical of a word
anyone with a fricking brain can google "what does scaling mean in 3d" to find out its the same exact fricking term paltards really are fricking brainlets
why does this game have so many fricking shills? i have a hard time believing so many actual human beings are playing this game and talking about it. whenever someone calls it out for being a soulless cynical ripoff, some homosexual always comes up with an excuse for it.
You mean Pokemon?
Dunno, some people did not grew out of their diapers.
discord homosexuals. none of you belong on this board.
thats nice homosexual
hey man its okay to not have good taste, just dont fling it around and project it onto other people.
tons of people played it when were children and are blind by nostalgia
no one wants to admit that what they're enjoying is "bad" or "flawed" anymore
things would be much better if people just admit that you can enjoy stuff in spite of flaws sometimes
this applies to both pokemon and palworld lol
Its just a bunch of steamgays shitposting or legitimately believing that this early access slop is totally different and unique from other monthly early access survival slop because of the pokemon skin
Chink shills. It’s mostly chinks playing palslop.
Most of the Palworld shills on Twitter mention cryptocurrency in their Twitter bios
It's called astroturfing. Bots shill a product inorganically to get people talking about it.
this is unprecedented, gamefreak has never issued a statement like this
even if it essentially says "stop emailing us about the streamer slop flavor of the month"
at the end of the day, the asset flip will die like all UE5 market place asset flips before.
PALTARDS THE TIME HAS COME
SAVE MEEE MMM I would tell a joke but they don't even have a relevant monster KEK
palchads can't stop winning
>literally fabricates a tweet
not a good look, pal
weren't you supposed to be a top investigator? or the copyright law expert personality is taking control now?
Bring back nat dex Black person
By the way even if they did steal there's no way to prove it since they physically backed up each iteration of the game separately
There's no digital paper trail to follow to origin
>FB_IMG
Your image is a terrible argument to defend your game.
Top looks like an unreal engine 3 demo Pokemon can look like anything from poorly drawn doodles to hiperealistic CGI and you still know it's Pokemon.
Show me the hyper realistic CGI game
Pokemon is more than a game.
exactly
pokemon is love, pokemon is life.
>AI fixing Lucario's shit snoutmouth
Why TF is he playing handball alone when everyone around him are clearly hiking?
AI is fricking moronic.
its a troonmaker
Leave, Chang.
and here comes a troon to defend it, right on time.
is grimmsnarl vmax gold card good
OH NO NO NO PALSISTERS
I hope they don't do anything, I want as many people as possible to fall for this scam
Mic. Drop.
You can call out Palworld for plagiarizing designs while still calling GameFreak shit for their laziness over the past several games anon.
So the laziness of Game freak justifies plagiarism?
plagiarsm justifies itself, for it is the basis on which all things are made; gamefreaks laziness justifies the moolah palworld is rolling in right now.
>plagiarsm justifies itself, for it is the basis on which all things are made
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.
>gamefreaks laziness justifies the moolah palworld is rolling in right now.
I honestly doubt Game freak paid a bunch of shills to advertise that game.
>I honestly doubt Game freak paid a bunch of shills to advertise that game.
One shill in the form of Joe Merrick is enough
You underestimate the autism of Pokemon fans. That guy does it for free.
one grave mistake TPC committed was not letting Hoe-girlve play the main games aside from that very short time frame they're allowed to whenever one gets released. Meanwhile, they gave Hoe-girlve early access to Palworld, and considering the massive shilling power this company has, it made people interested in that game. couple in it being actually a good game, no wonder why it's such a massive success.
Pokemon games target demographic is children, and hoe-girlve don't even consideres kids -13 on its demographics.
Oh look, the Vtuber troony wandered in
> Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.
you sound upset. may i offer you an egg in these trying times?
>may i offer you an egg in these trying times?
I'll take it whenever a /pal/ board exists on Ganker.
your posting on it right now, but if you donut want it thats fine too
It's just a generic "we are looking at it shut the frick up about this game" response

>6 out of 9 videos got hidden after TPC statement
Yep, they're guilty. Innocent people don't hide the things they proudly showcased the moment they are accused of theft and under scrutiny
