The power creep in Isaac is worse than a fricking card game. I used to have fun with it but now there are a gorillion items that don't tell you what they even do. You have to constantly have a wiki open to progress. It used to be in my top 3 favorite games but now I don't even consider it in my top 100.

My problem is the gorillion SHITTY items the game has now. I swear I was having way crazier, more fun runs in vanilla Rebirth, frick, even original Binding of Isaac than what we have now.
I have a YouTube video on my channel from almost ten years ago of me just going in a room, pressing attack, and everything in the room just dying in one second, just using regular old Isaac.
Obviously not every run should be like that, but I swear that hasn't happened in ten years. I keep playing the game hoping to once in a while get the run that feels like I'm using cheat codes but it just never happens. It's just a slow, boring slog every time.
There are so many trash items now that if you run into a cursed floor and pick up a ? item, it could just be the end of your run.

It's so easy to break the game it's starting to not be funny anymore because even a moron should be able to easily micromanage rerolls.

It's also possible that I've unlocked precisely only shitty items, and you've unlocked good ones, or all of them so they're in the item pool.
My item pool just seems like hell.
You just need to learn how to reroll secret rooms. You only need to get one of rock bottom, glitched crown, sacred orb, death certificate, etc and your run is guaranteed to be busted
I had a Sacred Orb + Chaos run yesterday.
Among other things, I ended up with Pill Baby + Luck Foot + Echo Chamber
Please remember anon reading and memorizing is very hard for zoomers. The font and UI is far far far far to small for most zoomers as well, its why the game is very confusing for them. Everything needs to be a massively huge UI wise bold big font and flashing reminders everytime something happens. You need to realize ever since the mid to late 00's education changed because "kids" can't read. So high school became a daycare unless students pushed themselves into advance classes or they went to art&science or private/semi-private school. What was grade 9 in 2002 is grade 11/2 now grading tests is very racist as is homework report cards are a hate crime. Its even worse post 2016 with mass immigration. they need to lower education even further so students can understand the curriculum. So the youth of today did not get an education or learn time managment or even basic logic for that matter. Everything needs to be very simple and once again BIG AND BOLD WITH REMINDERS EVERY SECOND OR ELSE THEY CANT UNDERSTAND WHATS BEING SAID. Also if its longer than 500 characters its far far to long and they wont read it, because its more than their phone screen can hold.
All modern indie games should switch to a custom cursive font as a filter now, before it only would have filtered pavement apes but now it will filter anyone under the age of 35. Just think about this for a second, you see a game trailer on youtube and boom all the font is in cursive or better yet script/longhand you instantly know its going to be ludo. Zoomers will buy the game bringing in massive sales then scream and cry how they cant understand anything. The dev makes bank and thus the fans will be happy they can work on the game making it better for the true fans that play it.

You can blame Afterbirth+ for adding so much junk to the item pool, half of which are just simple derivatives of other items. An interesting difference in modern Isaac vs old flash Isaac is the amount of items the game expects you to get. Feels like old Isaac would only give a handful, while in new Isaac you're meant to have dozens by the end (not even counting The Chest)
