Irrelevant. PCs aren't exclusively made for gaming, they're validated for real work and if the USB ports on a motherboard started melting after a few hours no one would ever buy that brand again.
It's a side effect of being the most powerful way to play games that's ever existed. I'm not trying to down play it because it is unfortunate that this can occasionally happen but the simple fix is to just stay away from using USB ports. There's a reason we have wireless controllers now,. It's 2023 not 2003.
