When you consider everything, versatility, ease of use, DPS, infusion options etc the longsword is the 2nd best PvE weapon after sellsword twinblades.

cane whip is really good it scales with the player very well.

Might be some kind of reinforcement so the gun can take higher pressures, which would make it able to shoot high velocity armour piercing bullets.
