nevermind was released in 1991
And Nevermind doesn't represent the late 90s very well at all. THPS4 lacks the edginess/grittiness that defined the 00s, it still has that pre-9/11 sheen to it. Underground is representative of how everything got way more edgy and rebellious, as evidenced by other games like Jak II, Warrior Within, Shadow the Hedgehog, etc., but it still has that punk fun to it. It's a great middle ground.

You can mostly ignore her, shes just a playable character. The old emulated games don't have the new mechanics wich makes the game more fluid and fun, I woud give it a try, it's the most fun I've had with a game since forever.

That said, THUG 1 was a massive success with getting off your board and the punk to pro storyline. THUG 2 was also great because it capitalized on the chaos of viva la bam of skateboarding but also fricking shit up. Both games had stellar tracks and levels. Wasteland was where it went downhill, the no loading was great, but people were burnt out on the build your own story stuff.

No, I mean every time it was advertised on TV, radio, or excerpts in magazines, they go way out of their way to mention the game has no loading screens as if that's a big thing worth celebrating about. Not even joking.
I understand that, I was asking if those long corridors were the no loading screens you're talking about being broadcasted as a feature. Honestly my memory on the games are kinda fuzzy a little less so for thug1.
I forget since I have not played a TH game since Pro Skater 5 back in 2019 and it was over a decade before then since I played Wasteland.
Yes, those corridors are what hides the loading screens. In fact the loading times are so long in THAW that they specifically slow down your skater in those corridors so you don't go through them too fast.
