Ok, thanks for letting us know. We do value your opinion around here. Do you now care to elaborate what exactly you dislike about the "current aesthetic", so we might have an argument in this slide thread?
Marvel aesthetic. Glory to historical wargames
What makes an aesthetic a marvel aesthetic.
The fact that I don't like it, I have a very poor understanding of art and design and I am an absolutist.
I can sort of see where you're coming from in that they use big hero type characters to essentially give a face to different factions and the art is focusing mainly on these larger than life personalities. Older 40k art would either just show random nameless dudes and aliens to showcase how weird they are or show dozens of combatants in pitched battles to emphasize the scale of conflict. Now you're more likely to get a big hero shot of a single space marine slaying an Ork or a Crisis suit landing while firing at some unseen foe.
The game on the other hand I think is pretty much the same as it ever was. The models are nice, but way overcosted. Each time they update an older range of models some people will like it and some will hate it.
It is funny that despite the art getting smaller in scale and focusing on fewer combatants the game itself has gotten to the point where each army will easily have about a hundred individual models on the tabletop at the start of a match. In older editions you'd have maybe 50 models tops and even that only if you're playing IG.

Come home, brother.
Brother it's dead
It's gone
Killed by zoomers
fricking moronic thing to say when they very recently released a model taken directly from that art
You dumb fricking Black person, they are actively releasing codexes featuring art like that.
40k fans will see this artwork and cry "grimderp" as they proceed to buy the new lion el jonson funko pop. We need to start killing them
Look beyond fricking space marines, you'll find what You're looking for
>nu40k
you have no idea what you are talking about. PICREL
this is nuhammer, or should I say mudhammer, because this ((aesthetic)) smeared mud over everything in the entrire galaxy
no chance that it is the 3e cover t
soul
soulless
Kill Team feels very 40k. Necromunda too maybe, but I haven't played it so it's just a maybe.
>the thing that best encapsulates
Who decided, (You)?
Did you even play darktide at all anon?
He's a fricking zoomer without a pc or the money to play the actual wargame that why he thinks you can "kill" older editions you own, painted, and have the rules for. If there was a secondary fan he is tertiary
Not OP but i have, and it sucks. Sure it gets the looks down, but the game itself blows massive ork wiener.
Have (you) played darktide? You can't make a classic art style female in dark time, you can only choose from the hideous intentionally ugly faces that the Marxist sensibilities allow. Death of conventional beauty and all that. And forget the fact that there's a 90% white player base, only 25% of the options are white facial structures.
There's some good fun to the actual core gameplay, but it's found in spite of the design and the world building is subpar. My blabbermouth protagonist gets "rewarded" every 5 levels with a cutscene.
Wherein my character suddenly becomes a mute and gets told to do the job I'm already doing by a series of empowered females. And no matter which class you are playing as you get identical cutscenes.
Why is there a space african with a thick-as-kardashian-ass african accent in fricking space? Could they not find a black woman from a first world country?
>darktide
>none of the grimdark character models actually match the miniatures which are slop
tbh Dark tide would have been 10x better if we just played as space marines. I know its a case of UGH space marines but in terms of mechanics and weapons and shit it would have been just so much better.
Therea litterally kreiger, steel legion, guardsmen, flamer zealot, psyker and alot more cosmetics that look exactly like the models, you litterally didnt even play the game
>cosmetics
>complain that charichters dont look like the models
>they do, heres which ones
>"NOO COSMETICS NOOO!!!"
Poorgay, learn to sell crypto
>Obsessed polgay is a moronic brokie
Big surprise
textbook moving the goalposts
It has the graphics and sound effects of a slot machine. Why are western ip mobile games so shit compared to chinknese ones?
this could have been an okay mobile game if the whole thing wasnt based around you trying to get addicted and eventually go crazy and buy stuff.
As shit of a game as it was, pic rel probably has the greatest aesthetic.
Yes, the feel was fricking great, gameplay was dogshit and chore to do.
The story is forgettable, singleplayer is miserable, but the feel and multiplayer is really good.
wild, I figured it would've been the fricking miniatures game that's literally designed after the modern aesthetic, not a mobile game developed by an outside studio
frickin moron lmao
No. The thing that best encapsulates 40k's current aesthetic is the mindless reetative shilling of GW products on this board. And yes, starting a thread that complains about a GW
product is an advert as well, because it keeps GW in our minds and sunk cost morons will argue how great it is.
