I am currently playing BG3 for the first time and I am inclined to agree.
By any and all objective metrics BG3 definitely is the RPG of the generation. I can completely understand zoomers not liking the length of it, the dice rolls, the combat, etc. But pound for pound there's not a single RPG in the last 20 years that comes close, and no amount of buzzwords or regurgitated Ganker talking points will change that. People will be talking about BG3 a decade from now

This is a really good point. I played bg3 on launch, had fun and beat it happy end, etc. A bit ago I gave RT a go, and while it was definitely buggier and the ending fell apart even harder, it felt more fulfilling to me gameplay wise. I especially liked the officer shenanigans. When I went back to BG3 to do a durge run to see it, it felt like I was playing a game for children.
I should add that bg3 was my first CRPG, wouldn't have even given it a go if I didn't get it for free.

It's not that good. I played for 15 hours before I realized all my decisions were based on a dice roll instead of what I wanted to do. What's even the point? The choices you pick barely even matter. I stopped even reading the dialog options and just started clicking the one I had the highest chance of winning the roll for. Horrible game design.
Very very rarely (like once an act) if you get a good dice roll you can for instance, tell a boss to chill out while you walk right up to him and throw him into the void. Or for example, convince a mini boss to help you out and they give you a follower
