Re:CoM = mistake
Re:coded = replacement
Where are you on the spectrum?
on the ZX Spectrum
Zero suit section in Metroid: Zero Mission sucks, and I'm sure someone will come post the webm's which showcase why OoT3D is shit.
>THEY INCREASED THE LIGHTING SO IT COULD BE SEEN ON A 3.5 INCH SCREEN AIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT'S RUINED
OoT3D plays much better than the 64 version and no amount of b***hing will change it. Gyro aiming and touch screen menu improve the game to an unfathomable degree.
ship of harkinian mogs it
Frick no
yes actually
Yes it does, and it's not even close
Nah, if it had been on the Wii U and not looked like ass then maybe.
So? Zero Mission improves the actual base game in every way. Who cares if the actual post-game is just fine when the rest is debatably the best 2D Metroid available?
Persona 3 and Resident Evil 4 are downgrades, only a goyslopper would say they are on par
Never played the mario 64 ds version, what makes it so bad?
OP is a moron is the answer
The controls is mostly what people complain about, although some genuinely autistic people complain about a couple texture swaps. It's pretty neat aside from the absolute dogshit controls.
The controls were dogshit on the ds, but if you emulate it it's better than SM64.
Why would a remake that only utilizes a d-pad be worse than the game it was originally based on that was designed around showcasing the analog stick, anon?
DS64 doesn't have control issues. And besides the N64 controllers analogue was extremely stiff anyway. People exaggerate the downgrade.
You want to know how I know you played the DS version as a kid first?
Analogue sticks are great but honestly most 3D games can be played with a D-pad. And some are easier played with d-pad.
I beat them both before the age of 10. You are just bad at vidya. The DS version controls fine. Get a non-youtube opinion.
OP here. The controls are dogshit but also the way the new characters was implemented just messes up the original game's structure and pacing into something much worse. That is honestly the main reason I don't vibe with 64DS and am always baffled when I hear people say "If it weren't for the controls, this would be the definitive version!"
Another thing is that my mindset for this spectrum is which version I'd recommend to someone who'd never played the game before. If you met someone who has never played Super Mario 64 but has some interest in playing, would you REALLY recommend DS over the original?
I actually do like the new visuals of 64DS. OG 64 is more charming but 64DS looks objectively better.
IIRC there's actually a hack that if played on 3DS (or emulator) completely fixes the controls, making it basically an outright replacement.
Even with this patch, the controls still feel worse than the original.
Shit physics, shit characters, shit new levels, shit textures, shit controls.
>Yoshi
>Luigi
>Shit characters
What made you this way?
D-pad controls are garbage, it added new characters by removing abilities from Mario and giving them to the others, Luigi trivializes the game. If you've played the original to death and want a fresh take on it it can be okay, but it is definitely a worse experience.
It isnt bad at all, its better than the original
>64DS that low
>Crash/CRT that high
yeah OP seems like he only plays nintendo consoles
It's true sadly, hence why I was asking for more games to add.
demon's souls remake is the replacement
>ruined music
>ruined character/monster design
>ruined voice acting
None of that is true and you know it
dumb snoyborg
Go ahead and tell me this is an upgrade.
>Bluepoint dev
>worse music
>worse atmosphere
>worse art design
but hey all sony needed to was muh graphical fidelity and the casuals slop it up
>OoT3D that high
have a nice day... just have a nice day
I don't even care if it's bait
>N. Sane Trilogy improved the visuals, unfricked Crash 1's garbage save system, and included a few new levels
How is that a downgrade from the originals?
the visuals are bad and the physics are ruined in crash 1
You sure it's the physics that are ruined and not the camera depth perception?
Nta, but yes. They "rounded" crash's hitbox which has him slipping off of edges far easier. I thought I caught moronic while playing the bridge levels until I looked it up.
The save system wasn't fricked, you were complaining about a non issue.
>Adds moronic shit for no real reason
>Colors are fricked
>Assasinate Crash's character than a 20 year old game managed to install in a 10 second sequence at the start of the first level and title screen, replaces it for le goofy oblivious guy to self insert balding onions stereotypes
>Crash in HD = muh jeans have texture now
>Crash actually looks like fake Crash now
>Fricked up physics from the og games
You can fix at least the colors and make it look like the ps games... but that's a glitch and only works in Crash 2
You could probably put Kiwami 1 on there as well
>Yakuza Kiwami
Whats wrong with them? You gays said they were good
I never said that.
K1 is mostly hurt by Majima Everywhere system fricking with the pacing and being a pain in the ass to upgrade. K2 uses the new combat system which Yakuzagays whine about and changes some things for worse like picrel or the stab cutscene. If you really want to know go to any Yakuza thread, there's a dedicated anti-kiwami gay that will explain why it's shit in detail
DQ3 on SFC was never even localized. You mean the GBC version?
>DQ3 on SFC was never even localized.
fricking and? it's been available in english for damn near 15 years now and it's still the best version
I didn't know Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania was a remake of the OG game, but why Banana Mania is so bad compared to the OG game?
the biggest issue is the physics engine is different so the game fundamentally plays differently. Also the minigames are worse, the story(fi you care) is presented worse, and the new music is eh. I like some of the new things mainly cause they're funny(you can unlock and enable the jump ability from Banana Blitz and it literally breaks most of the old levels but also makes playing other maps much funnier, it doesn't count towards completion though since they want you to play the game the real way)
Final Fantasy I & II:- Dawn of Souls (remake of the first 2 FFs for the GBA) are far better than the originals.
>Spyro, Crash and CTR
>on-par/upgrade
They are downgrade
You could put any remake since ORAS on mistake and would be 100% spot on
Upgrade and replacement are correct
do spelunky and tboi even count as remakes? I always just considered them different games entirely
Resident Evil 2 in Replacement (the original sucks ass, let's not pretend)
Last of Us Remake in On-Par
Final Fantasy 7 in Mistake
Why do contrarions hate oot3d? Only thing thats a noticeable downgrade is the lighting in the ganon fight and removed blood in the well. Everything else is pretty much perfect
>"It doesn't capture the same magic! "
Basically these OoT N64 kids need to continue to pretend that the game hasn't aged like shit compared to A Link to the Past.
There is a lot going on with it. The new animations look very amateurish, some cutscenes are outright bugged like the one where Twinrova brainwash Nabooru and it just completely breaks the flow, things like cuccos weren't adjusted for the new framerates meaning that they're going to be a lot more annoying in their panicked states. Again there's a lot wrong with it and the PC port basically makes any thing it had going for it irrelevant.
Other then sm64ds, based I'll never understand why people get so assmad over the zero suit section of zero mission, it's like 15 minutes long and makes getting the upgraded suit cathartic as frick.
Crash N-sane and All-Stars are a replacement
I feel like 90% or more of issues with oot3d are extremely subjective at best
I do not care for remakes
>I only play consoleshit- the thread
Embarrassing
shut up Black person, post remakes or frick off moron
I don't think you need additional spectrum anon
>Super Mario 64 DS
>Mistake
>CTR Nitro
>Upgrade
>Spyro Trilogy
>On-Par
>ZOoT 3D
>Replacement
fricking moron
moron and stupid
stupid and Black person
Black person and homosexual
israelite pedopholi
I don't hate you, I hate your dumb brainlet taste
Missing some of the biggest mistakes of all time with the Silent Hill remasters.
Everyone would rather forget about them.
That's letting Konami off the hook. It might be painful, but do not shy away from the Truth.
>Tfw you remake a shitty game you made years ago into a fricking masterpiece
>OoT that high
That's a zoom zoom yikes from me, dawg
OG OoT looks fricking UGLY and the iron boots are atrocious design.
OoT 3D is objectively better. I don't care that the original had somewhat better lighting in some spots.
Doesn't matter since OoT is a shit game anyway.
Age of empires definitive is the only real replacement I can think of. Even something like the original Metroid is still worth trying. Maybe 256 color version of monkey island replacing the 16 color might be another example now that I think about it. Could still be played out of curiosity though
>Even something like the original Metroid is still worth trying
No it is not and yes I've played through the entire thing
Mario 64DS was good
Advance Wars was really good
10/10 bait.
absolute
complete
REPLACEMENT.
homosexual, this game frame by frame repeat original on ps2. Are you kidding?
It's better in literally every way.
they added a bunch of flashy lights for your gooner brain. go hot glue your funco pops
Mario 64 is a good game. Wtf wrong with homosexual who made this pic?
Mario 64 is a good game
Mario 64 DS is a bad remake of a good game.
Mario 64 DS on its own is a bad game.
No it's not. They added a lot of new content and shit. Dpad control is not bad at all, they fix any aspect in this way you can have problem with. Ppl rly so much moronic and they can't handle more then 1 extra button to control character?
They added new content but not good new content.
Also the new characters frick up the game's structure and pacing.
Also Wario is not fun to play as in the slightest.
Also it's one of the worst controlling video games I've ever played.
OP is a homosexual
Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 go in downgrade, Ishin goes in mistake
When the remake adds soul to the game.
Pic. I was really frustrated when i came to play original ff7 after cc how kinda empty it is compare to cc.
OoT 3D isn't a remake. It's a "remaster" and a rather poor one at that. A remake by default means that it's the old game but remade on a modern engine with modern touch ups, OoT 3D is literally the original rom with new assets with gyro and touch pad functionality.

These are all that comes to my mind right now.
I like this image but shouldn't the Xenoblade definitive edition be under expanded version? It added a lengthy post game chapter from what I heard.
I wish Re-Pac was harder, they definitely made the game easier.
The ship boss was butchered tbh, felt silly
The robot boss, straight upgrade
AM2R > Metroid 2 > Samus Returns
I liked it
System Shock remake under either upgrade or replacement (replacement for me)
Dragon Quest 1+2 (SNES), Dragon Quest 3 (SNES and GBC), DQ4 (DS with deaccent patch and PS1 if it ever gets translated), DQ5 (PS2), DQ6 (DS) under replacement
Dragon Quest 7 (3DS) and 8 (3DS) under on par
>System Shock remake under either upgrade or replacement (replacement for me)
Wow you’re a moron. The original System Shock is a fricking thrilling experience of being a rat caught in a death trap maze with oppressive atmosphere while the remake is a generic vaguely horror themed FPS
Brandish the Dark Revenant under upgrade.
Nitro Fueled is one of the best remakes ever and anyone who disagrees is a Black person
Where should I start with Super Monkey Ball?
all of my monkey ball memories were on the Gameboy Advanced version
you should watch gameplay of it it's surprisingly good for an old handheld
All literally games for toddlers.
DeS remake into mistake
A remake could be better than a game in every single conceivable way but still be worse than the original because it's not the fricking original, but a remake has never and will never achieve even that.
Grim fandango was an upgrade because you could flip between new and old at the press of a button
Don't know if it technically counts, but Blaster Master Zero is definetly replacement tier over the NES original.
>Spyro
>on-par
More like piece of shit
>OoT3D

Maybe if you like penis
Zero Mission is not a replacement, you moron.

Tsukiremake replaces original Near Side, it's inarguable. The only flaw is if Red Garden doesn't have Nero.
Arcs route is a upragde. Most of the stuff added to the Ciel route that was not roa or ciel related sucked and dragged down the pacing of the vn and was of a lower quality than the stuff Nasu usually writes.
Replace SM64DS with BDSP and it’s accurate
