>multiple anime >multiple console games >one of the largest VNs in the genre history
It’s still a literally who property as your average shiteater probably has never heard of it, but it was never unpopular or obscure.
Blue Archive has way more staying power than AL just because they're all students and that's way more accessible for secondaries/tertiaries than overdesigned boats.
Blue Archive has more staying power because the story is a decent read and it actually endears people to the characters.
Azur Lane's story is fricking nonsensical and 99% forgettable. All the personality traits people get attached to are from individual lines and extra material, the story NEVER factors into it. Azur Lane's greatest strength has been its 600+ girls where at least one of two of them will have a characteristic you'll like but it also has no time to ever give them a spotlight.
You can tell people who play BA actually like the character interaction and draw comics and group interactions. In AL that shit barely gets drawn because the story interactions are minimal and every artist just draws the fotm girl/skin and hardly ANYTHING else.
Daily reminder that these numbers are only for mobile, so for games that make most of their money on PC (currency is 30% more expensive on mobile so you'd have to be moronic to spend any money on mobile if there is a PC version like Genshin or Star Rail), these numbers are drastically understated.
Genshin unironically probably makes 20x the amount in that image if you include PC + chinese numbers. Even mobile-only players just buy currency using their browser to avoid the 30% tax, only absolute morons actually buy currency in-game.
It's not just raw number of pieces, but the fact that BA came out in 2021 while AL in like 2018 or some shit.
BA doing AL numbers of fanart in less time is impressive
holy fricking ESL lmao, not really helping the stereotype at all >focus
doesn’t really matter when all of that runs counter to how the plot is actually structured. The big chapters are all about le habbenings and some stupid looming threat. It's still trying to sell itself on edgy melodrama while being neither genuine about it nor particularly well written, and that comes with the territory because it has to dangle a carrot to get the dumbasses that play this engaged somehow.
My bad, the extra "it" in there ruined that sentence.
My point in greater detail is that BA focuses on the status quo being the SoL, not the action. The disruption in the SoL are the big depressing and melodramatic events and the goal is to deal with it and return to SoL. Compare this to games like FGO and Azur Lane where the SoL is a by-product of waiting in between big melodramatic events. When FGO was the biggest gacha i nthe market, a ton of fan works focused on the SoL elements in Chaldea and while they do happen in spare moments in the story and events, it is not the main feature. The main draw of FGO is its plot about saving humanity and using servants to fight your battles. The SoL isn't the focus, the action is. In BA it's the opposite. The SoL is the status quo that needs to be protected from outside influences. They're working off the same elements but are structured/ordered differently but it's enough to make it distinguishable.

Yes, but the very existence of the melodramatic elements still prove that they still need to bank on grimdark happenings to sell. What’s stopping them from making a completely SOL gacha without breaking the premise? But then no one would give a frick, so the claim of “not needing le grimdark plot to be good/for people to care” that is oftenly used to shill it falls apart.

It's not really grimdark to begin with.

Usually the grimdark stuff happens during bigger story chapter releases while events are still completely in the SoL environment. >What’s stopping them from making a completely SOL gacha without breaking the premise?
You'd end up like Priconne EN I guess. I never said anything about this or your statement about "not needing grimdark plot to be good" so I can't really address that since they aren't statements I made.

died due to corporate meddling not from lack of players, the crunchyroll suits decided the resources would make more money elsewhere. You really don't need that much income to run a gacha, just look at girls frontline.

Then I don't really have an example but I'm the side of the fence that says a purely SoL could work but I like a bit of stakes every now and then and BA strikes an acceptable balance for me to enjoy.
I don't want azur lane to die.
I want my boat polygamy simulator to live on. Specially when i enjoy its fanfic erotica and doujins, i need more of them.
fanart is and willl never be indicative of a game’s popularity. Nexon and yostar are astroturfing the shit out of this game, evident with all the sockpuppeting online even in this board to make it seem way bigger than it actually is. That’s not even mentioning the mass commisioning, uploading and distribution of fanart and inorganic shilling as seen when they were literally caught red handed with toki.
Other gacha games do this but in the form of officially endorsed "fanart", azur lane for example commissions loading screens for the new versions basically giving hired artists a sneak peak of the new characters.
But BA's is much more ulterior, it masks itself as "organic" interest when in reality they are just asking their commissioned artists to pretend they drew these for free. Everything about this game from the story, the themes, to its popularity, is not genuine and dishonest to the core.
Alright let me do the usual third worlder shitposting so we can get this over with. >dude BA is shit but LE PORN (I have a crippling porn addiction) >story is....le bad, read a hecking book (I never read a single book in my life)
Now that we're done, let's talk about BA.
It was always a fad game, with such godawful gameplay it's only a matter of time before people move on to literally anything with any amount of depth to it
It was always a coomer game with shit gameplay and nothing else to back it up, so when other coomer gachas come out it starts to fall off. What Blue archive is having right now was the same that azur lane was having 5 years ago, i still remember this board being spammed by chinks saying it would kill azur lane, now look where they are. When other coomer gacha releases blue archive will fall and the other will rise, and you will keep repeating the same cycle.
Funny thing, overwatch relied on its porn for its massive popularity and look where they are now, TF2 LITERALLY did nothing and won at the end.
shit i meant to say the board was getting spammed by chinks saying "azur lane will kill kantai collection"
Why are Korean and Chinese gacha addicts so obsessed with their gacha games beating out Japanese gacha all they do is aggressively shitpost Japanese games and gacha on Ganker
>they were literally caught red handed with toki.
qrd?

so what are you saying, they're commissioning tens of thousands ofthose fanart?
Don't be mistaken, Blue Archive is 100% guilty beyond doubt with proofs but other gacha aren't innocent and complicit with this practice.
I just want my usual animu fanart and originals without gacha homosexualry. Now they're all either paid for by these predatory liveservice slot machines with 0 returns and/or keep everything locked behind fanbox fantia patreon etc often even timed (or lead to expiring links) so they're lost forever. >inb4 just use muh furhomosexual site
It's not the same, they miss a lot and opening 2 or more images often leads to an error saying you have sent too many requests.
Blue Archive has similar appeal to Touhou when it comes to fanworks.
I mean that in a way that the actual canon characterizations of the cast are fun enough but kind of loose, and you established setting, with areas/groups that characters generally gather in, but occasionally wander out of.
This allows for lots of fanon, in depicting how different characters would interact with eachother, and just thinking of wacky hijinks for their daily lives.
Also, while "cute schoolgirls with guns" is kind of weird concept to western crowd, it's still more palatable than "what if ships were girls" or "what if race horses were girls."
frick off
Lel
If NTR wasn’t hot right now nasu would be out of a job
That’s only double the amount in over triple the time for a huge, established IP.
wasn’t fate a literal who property before the gacha blew it up?

limbus is fricking dying man
God I hope so.
They should repurpose it as a offline game.
>Umamusume on the top 5 with only the nip server
I kneel...
It's not impressive when you realize the thing is a Yakuza money laundering scheme.
I wonder how much the average Japanese guy spends on gacha.

A temporary setback. Monster Strike will be on top again after LB6 Summer
It's not just raw number of pieces, but the fact that BA came out in 2021 while AL in like 2018 or some shit.
BA doing AL numbers of fanart in less time is impressive
Next popular gacha: Turquoise Arrival
ba won
False flagging thread, do not reply
As long as Blue Archive's devs keep being based it'll keep getting a bigger audience naturally.
I don't much care for other phone games though, so it beating them in terms of numbers does nothing for me
Is every gacha fanbase this autistic? This puts some of the console war homosexualry on this board to shame
Some casual shitposting on Ganker is nothing compared to what the dedicated communities get up to.
>This puts some of the console war homosexualry on this board to shame
No, it really doesn't.
What will baggots do once their game eventually gets toppled over by a newer gachashit?
Does Blue Archive actually has anything else besides porn going on for it?
>Does [gacha] actually has anything else besides porn going on for it?
No.
Well, Umamusume has nice music but that's it.
Uma Musume's raising sim gameplay is pretty fun though.
It's gacha. Gacha games are barely games. They're gambing simulators for the most part.
tbh porn is what keeping these shitty gachas alive. don't listen to morons who tries to convines you that their "gameplay" is good and "forgiving"
BA has a nice story but it is autobattle shit so you can go and enjoy the story on YT
Story
>Story
>Another generic anime slice of lifes/shounen shits #12314234
ok
Considering this is gacha, that actual represents an effort.
>ESL
Reminder that BA and Nikke have the same main audience of swarthy SEAmonkeys who see themselves as IRL harem protagonists
BA's focus on SoL is what it separates it from the rest.
holy fricking ESL lmao, not really helping the stereotype at all

Ive actually played this and then watched the story on youtube after dopping it, the story isnt that good
How far did you get?
midway through chapter 3. The level grinding was getting too obnoxious
The OST is great (though that's usually true of alot of mobage).
Other than cute chibis and girls making you Goslingpost, no. But that's already better than 99% of gachas
I don't want azur lane to die.
I want my boat polygamy simulator to live on. Specially when i enjoy its fanfic erotica and doujins, i need more of them.
Hakuna-Matata reminder
These two don't even compete in the same category

Is that without AI art included?
No.
I'll take AL's more unique lore/story over BA any day and then again it will never reach GFL's quality.
>unique lore
Wish they actually did something with it instead of like 99% events of being
>abandoned siren facility
Easily comebackable with AI art. Let's do it AL bros!
Alright let me do the usual third worlder shitposting so we can get this over with.

>Now that we're done, let's talk about BA.
There's better threads to do that in, just let this thread die.
there's already a BA thread, fellow Sensei. Go talk there
BA is only good for porn though if you want a real gameplay then go to Neural Cloud
I only play games with moronic girls
Why did we reach a point where gachaBlack person console warring is a thing now?
Gachashit isn't a measure of any sort of quality.
It's always been a thing. In fact, it sometimes has way more seethe involved compared to regular console warring.
Has azur lane fallen off? I dropped it after getting bored years ago and I don't see art of the girls like I do of BA
It was always a fad game, with such godawful gameplay it's only a matter of time before people move on to literally anything with any amount of depth to it
hey marketer-kun i won't play BA

KC's death was more IP mismanagement than being replaced by Azur Lane.
Why are Korean and Chinese gacha addicts so obsessed with their gacha games beating out Japanese gacha all they do is aggressively shitpost Japanese games and gacha on Ganker
BA will die as well, in time
Death always wins
Shut up seia.
I will not accept its victory unless i see BA's girls feet in this thread.
dicky Archive
>BAcucks have to pretend amount of pictures and art somehow proves a quality to stay relevant

Imagine not being an idort
kek. I had a feeling too, this girl is the most bland addition to the game and people went wild for her.

I only know Blue archive porn thanks to the Halo
bros
toeprostitutes remains the king of pixiv
Why does Ganker try to pretend azur lane was ever big? F/GO was the big gacha being displaced by blue archive.
Also, pixiv has been dead for years.
