>The wording in the section that discusses the effects on the games' DLC suggests that not only players will be unable to download them, but they also won't be about to play them. "The installation and access to downloadable content (DLC) will be unavailable", it reads. This is likely because you won't be able to link your Ubisoft account to the games, potentially making it impossible to prove that you own the DLC.

What other developers beg you to pirate their games?

Bought Far Cry 3 in the summer sale for a couple bucks (like a fricking idiot) and can't even launch the game from steam anymore after my first play session, just constant issues with the launcher saying it's failing to authenticate for some reason. Then I see this shit. Just gonna refund and pirate it.

It's boomer talk but truly what the frick happened to just booting up a game and playing it? I can't even do it after paying them money.

Being a previous owner of any game beyond its current generation is just asking to get ass raped.

They don't give a frick if you wanna play old vidya and they're not interested in making it easy to get and its no wonder the retro games market is fricking fricked.

And the only solution to it is cope like this butthole saying 'JUST BUY THE RE-RELEASE AGAIN' -- hey hows about when I put a PS1 game in my PS1, I'm guaranteed it's gonna have everything on that disc and it'll work.

Reverse engineering the entire back catalogue of the 360/PS3/Wii generation should've been the top priority because those games will forever be fricked by server outages and DLC not working. It shouldn't take Nintendo 10 years for instance to get the Nintendo Online Virtual Console stuff back to the levels of the Wii's shopping channel.
The games industry doesn't give a frick about preserving older games, thank god for Steam, GOG and Xbox Game Pass, as they're the only ones who give a frick.

This and also them making two actually good and unique multiplayer games - Siege and For Honor that had pretty niche fanbases but as soon as they got more popular Ubishit decided to pump "content" into them forever with updates just completely ruining both gameplay and visual design.
I'm still fricking mad how they went from severely underrated to absolute garbage because Ubishit wanted to squeeze a bit more money out of them.

I pray they go bankrupt ASAP.

I'd say they managed it a few years ago when they had that forced update for the older AC games of like 6GB+ per game, to add Chinese language audio that nobody who already had the game needed. You could block them with a bit of know-how, but it's still moronic they didn't make it an optional thing. Unwanted updates are the main reason I stopped buying anything on Steam and moved to GoG back in 2018.
