This was always a really bad game right from the start and quite frankly I'm certain it's one person obsessing over this vaporware as everyone else has moved on.
>This was always a really bad game right from the start
I disagree. The core is there, all they fricking had to do was finish it.
>People would still raise the very real problem they have spent like 8 years on this game and only have half of it to show.
It is, quite literally, the only early access title I bought. I kept waiting for the character creation to play it, but apparently it's just not happening, so I'm playing it now.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the devs just removed all the greyed out shit and called the game complete, or worse yet, just left it as is.
>The core is there
The core of what? It's like a 2/10 roguelike that plays like mobileshit
If you don't like rougelikes just say that.
I like roguelikes a lot which is why I know how bad this game is.
Tbqh I was following the game as well but the updates are just not happening. Gameplay seems stale as well. I'd rather just play stone soup or tome
The mistake was putting a greyed-out character creator on the selection screen. If it wasn't there, people wouldn't give them shit about it.
People would still raise the very real problem they have spent like 8 years on this game and only have half of it to show.
Why do you need that instead of playing default character
Char creation is one thing, but i want more QoL
Like ability to chart route on overworld map and automatically follow it without needing to hold "w" key for 5 minutes. CDDA has this feature for example
The devs are being really hardline on that. They want it to be a grim slow slog.
>They want it to be a grim slow slog.
Nothing wrong with that tbh. I understand that something being a slog isn't going to appeal to everyone, but games nowadays are already streamlined to the point of moronation.
Does every game have to be like that? It's honestly refreshing when a game makes you work for something.
The problem with the Stoneshard way is that it just isn't engaging. It's dull.
I used to play Skyrim without fast travel, just wandering through the wilderness. I don't dislike that kind of gameplay. And when you start up a new Stoneshard run after a while not playing it, you'll wander everywhere and it'll be fine. For the first 10 levels and the first few trips to dungeons. But it quickly becomes extremely repetitive.
This, the game incentives you to play cautiously and therefore grind easy level contracts. Its pure tedium plain and simple
Fundamentally, you're complaining that the game is too difficult, not too tedious.
No, im complaining that i have to hold direction key for 5 minutes between each dungeon, contract and and point of interest
Yeah, well. just do it bro.
I dont want fast travel, i just want to be able to chart the route and for my char to auto-follow it
It wouldnt make game any easier, just less tedious to play
People who get cling to forever developing mediocre early access slop deserve whatever dump the dev takes on them.
I know anon, I did it to myself.
Thing is, like I said, Stoneshard has the potential to be something truly exceptional.
At the current rate, it'll take about 10-12 years before it reaches its full potential.
Or, far more likely, the devs just call it feature complete at some point and drop the entire thing.
Harsh, but fair.
when will exanima have bows and arrows
Exactly 3 days after you die.
>sign on to steap
>exanima downloading update
>LETSFRICKINGGO!
>2mb update
>shader pre-cashing update
Every fricking time I swear to god.
It's funny that the demo section was good, but the actual game is shit. They should've focused on creating a proper story with handcrafted maps similar to the demo instead of making an empty walking simulator with 3 dungeons that you run over and over again.
Slavs are known for their unfinished games. I don't why you people keep beliving their lies when they have such terrible record.
The more time passes the more I realize Hitler was right.
t. Slav
Feature creep. Curse of many small devs.
The more I look into Stoneshard the more I realize just how moronic I was to buy it for 16 israeliteros.
I know it's moronic ideagayging but if this game dropped the whole one man army and let you control more units in dungeons it would be absolute kino. The systems they made are great, but don't really work for solo. Like the moment you seen more than one enemy you need to backpedal and look for a corridor so you don't get instantly destroyed because you are overwhelmed.
The soundtrack though, idk, maybe it's mid rehashed shit to you guys, but I'm blown away by it. Reminds of Battle Bros.
Kinda sucks I ruined this track by finding on youtube and listening to it before facing a troll in-game.
I forgot I had followed this years ago. This thread convinced me to unfollow. Thanks, OP.
Np anon, that's a smart choice.
