THEME PARK TRASH, literally a theme park trash
They call this shit mmorpg. Should call this shit: mmotp (massive multiplayer online theme park)
THEME PARK TRASH, literally a theme park trash
They call this shit mmorpg. Should call this shit: mmotp (massive multiplayer online theme park)
I like it
Only thing I dislike about it is that necromancer with minions feels pointless since minions are just kinda shit and don't do anytihng special
You know nothing. Rangers in GW2 are completely gimped to do less damage than all other classes, because their gimmick here is a stupid AI pet who is supposed to make up for the lack of damage.
In GW1, pets weren't even a main mechanic of rangers, just some optional sideshow.
I thought it was obvious that 'minions' covered the ranger pet too
I am also sorry for you for thinking I didn't play GW1
>I am also sorry for you for thinking I didn't play GW1
Wtf? Why do you react so passive-aggressively like a woman and reading shit into my post I didn't imply? I just used a hook to further the discussion. Cut down on your autism.
I am also sorry for your hyper-aggression attempt at trolling
you can just play soulbeast
It's too late now, what you refer to only became possible after the addons, and I quit playing in 2014, trying to make this work for nearly 2 years. Ranger was previously my PvP main class (assassin being the main for PvE).
Not my fave hairstyle, I actually had like the emoish bob cut most of the time, but CBA to find a matching pic right now.
it's cool game. i play it on and off. no subscription and you don't really miss out on stuff even if you don't play for a year for example.
I don't know what's worse: GW1 morons crying how it's no the same game again, or people trying to pin general MMORPG problems specifically on GW2 as if it they're somehow uniquely its own.
because gw1 was and still is unique. those players wanted more of it rather than a watered down mainstream mmorpg.
Not nearly as theme park as XIV
both are equally theme park but ff has better customization. and no, having 6 quadrillion dyes isnt good customization.
GW2 is semi-open world you can pick up and go anywhere as long as you're in the level range.
Ffxiv you need to play 400+ hours of story to get to the latest content. Which reminds me how long they can keep doing this as a sustainable business model it becomes daunting for new players to mess with that shit each expac
Is that a bad thing? Theme parks are fun
That's pretty much all of them at this point. I'm pretty sure the only sandbox mmos still around are on private servers.
they're around, but general interest doesn't really align with sandbox. people like the IDEA of sandbox mmorpgs until they get ganked for the first time.
The problem is how obvious the theme park concept is applied.
The whole game world feels inorganic and very scripted.
99.9% of all MMORPGs are themepark. What were you expecting?
gw1 was a themepark too but it wasnt bland dogshit
>can't play as skritt, birdmen or frog people
shit sucks
Post Asuras, homosexuals.
>massively multiplayer
>when all content is made for a 5 man party
>when all pvp is instanced
I've never been to a theme park that let me be this cute!
short races ruin settings
turns everything into some fricking looney toons joke where babies are jumping around at all times
Based and real. I hate Asuras, I hate gnomes, I hate goblins and I hate lalafells
What are your feeling on tarutaru?
What about Dwarves?
I've been thinking of getting into this. Is it possible/viable to play it on a controller? Of all the videos I saw im thinking of going spellbreaker since I ussualy like counter mechanics like full-counter.
There isn't any official controller support. I've seen people post setups for it but it all seemed pretty janky.
GW2 is the white man's game
Any real mmos for non normal gays in 2023 aside from ff11 on a private server?
TurtleWoW, Return of Reckoning
not much else, it's a dead genre
So, only private servers... Thats what i figured. Grim.
Is Turtle WoW actually good?
What's the most fun starting area?
Meds you frickin schizo.
It's garbage, i don't get who is it designed for. Transmog morons?
It's designed for the one finnish FtM i know who plays this
i'll bite. gw2 felt MUCH more like an mmo than the "mmo" i played before, ffxiv, did. theres some cringe story you can follow but you can also mostly ignore it and just do stuff, theres always people on the maps running around doing whatever the frick and meta events
most content is in fact not even instanced so idk what ur on about
if you want a real instance simulator play ffxiv
What MMOgays truly want is a time machine. What upcoming MMO scam are they currently coping with? Is Ashes of Creations still a thing? What about the MMO that Riot mentioned four years ago?
only part I don't like about GW2 is that its art did not age well, somehow WoW's updates to its art works, and GW2 just never did.
its artistically great, but very fricking dated in a ton of ways.
I dont buy that. Look at Cantha. It looks like shit compared to HoT and they are 6 years apart. All the good artgays and other devs were laid off before EoD.
while this is true, the sheer technical side of the graphics are fricked.
its incredibly outdated, but not so old that its timeless, it was made in that sweet spot of gaming where it just looks like shit.
they could literally double their player base with a graphical overhaul.
Damn right, also download some RAM while you are at it.
This game has so many issues and yet its the only mmo i recommend playing the absolute state of this market.
>t. played gw2, gw1, tera, Lost Fart, WoW and FF14
It's actually good until EoD.
Even the vanilla game's 'bad' story is fine, it's unironically just wrath's but less dumb.
Post femsuras
Biggest mistake was designing the combat around pvp which funny enough has been the least popular mode for a while. Now we have boonstacking, useless combos, etc. in pve.
yep, was a huge fricking blunder, people just want to roam their PVE MMO worlds and maybe do a casual raid or something, that is the "Main" audience of all MMO's and the morons at Blizzard and Arenanet catering to PVP players is baffling.
then again, this was the core of GW1's initial design too, it just had "more" PVE on launch than GW2 did, and its skill system was unique enough to offset it.
GW2's weapon system is dogshit.
Game design doesn't actually matter for whatever those casual non-player freaks do, so it doesn't hurt them to design it properly
woah a gw game designed aroudn pvp?!?!?!?
The name "Guild Wars" hasnt meant anything for a decade, moron-kun.
and how did that work out for them?
got them a sequel didnt it?
combat is spammy dogshit with an opening rotation and then just spam everything off cooldown
wish they woulf just add a function or a system that spams that shit with one button similar to wow macros
i dont expect it to perform as good as one percent poopsockers but decent enough to get me through all content
no im not playing mechanist frick off
why do people use the theme park meme wrongly
all of gw2's progression system revolves around its story and you grinding shit to unlock the rest of the story, how is that 'theme park'?
what the frick does theme park even mean anymore
because it's themepark. the dev set all that shit up for you to run through and check it off your list. Sandbox games are centered around player-created content and interactions
The game is on their last legs, last expansion is budget as frick, Probably the game isn't going to receive more content after 2025
