fpbp. Should've been humbled by the experience and moved forward best they could, instead they blame the fans

game was shitty but he's right
normalgays dont even play videogames they just love or hate things based on general consesus

      game was fricked, but yea I hate normies and their need for consensus. the thing is, theyre not that hard to please, CDPR's PR was horrible and they fumbled every step of the way and with interviews like this are still fumbling, see;

This is why most professional studios don't conduct themselves like obnxious, sanctimonious a-holes and huff their own farts when one of their games sells well. CDPR bought into their own hype following TW3 and payed dearly for it.

they acted like bastards and lost good will

Not only that but they literally lied to the public about the game being playable for previous generation consoles.

They had a press briefing or meeting with media I think a week or so before release where they assured that the game was playable but then refused to give out review copies to reviewers for last gen consoles. The company knew it wasn't in a playable state and they lied about it to the public.

These homosexuals will do anything for your money. They will do anything to try to salvage the IP because that's the business model. Don't give a cent to these gays, ever. Have some fricking nuts for once and stop enabling the monster piloting the corpse of your favorite IPs.

they lied about it running on windows 7 I wasted hours on launch night with crashes and no answers except an article from before launch where they promised it was WIn7 compatible, they just lied about that though. Never really answered for it

and CDprojekt is still super based for feeding console dipshits the crow they deserve. Get a real machine.

how about I just refund the broken piece of shit and save my time and money?

Also get woke go broke I saw the timeline of SJW seething and infiltrating of CDPR followed by the fall of the company's standards for employment. It just keeps happening but it never stops being tragic. Ganker was hyped for this game for many years only for it to abandon classes and everything that made the game sound good.

So they're rewriting history now? Because I remember the broken piece of shit game it was just before launch with the leaks, at launch, and for weeks/months after. Even still it doesn't feel feature complete and probably won't start to until the NPC/police system update fix comes with the expansion.
The one thing it had going for it was the writing (except some railroading in the beginning) and being able to break the combat.

      This.

There are actually a few unique Animals gang members that have animalistic features. I'm pretty sure that there is one that has skin that looks reptilian. There just aren't any of the more furry like body modifications from 2020.

nah I'm talkin full furries: digitigrade, tails, snout; etc
The entire setting was envisioned as hilariously hypersexualized. Walking fetishes on the streets. CDPR cut a ton of the more extreme shit out so the game wouldn't be fricking beaned by half the planet.

It's still a good game though, and, contrarians aside, you could see tons of people criticising shit that you just know would've been widely acclaimed had the launch not been such a mess.
What I'm not sure is whether the negative comments on what are good parts of the game came from people jumping on hate-trains or if it's pussy-ass b***hes who felt emboldened by the game's launch reputation and would've kept quiet about their dumb fricking opinions if the game had been wel received.

It's not revisionism, the game was actually good the whole time. You are the deluded person acting like it was a disaster despite A) selling over 20 million copies as of 2022, and B) currently enjoying a mostly positive user rating on Steam and reamining among the most actively played games on Steam.

The game was only busted on last gen consoles and potato PCs.
If you had a reasonably good PC the performance was decent. There were some bugs of course but mostly just minor stuff like AI or physics being wacky. Once in a while you might fall through the terrain or something but not often enough to be a big deal.

Admittedly the customers on last gen consoles had a right to be upset. If the game was not playable on those machines it should never have been released. It wasn't even really an issue of bugs or poor optimization, the game was simply never going to run properly on hardware that weak.

He's not right because I doubt he's saying people only like it now just because of the anime even though the game didn't change after Edgerunnes. They're sucking their own dicks after taking advantage of people being moronic and what Trigger gave them. That bald homosexual from CDPR that streams sometimes, whatever his name is, has been in damage control since day one spewing the most moronic shit with his annoying voice like "um you don't have cops in Eden Ring, you don't need cops"
I only have pure resentment for people that sniff their own farts like that, especially when it's unmerited.

It was a buggy, unoptimized and unfinished mess but people hated it for the wrong reasons, mainly because it made consolegays mad and subsequently news outlets hating on it.
I bet most of the people talking shit about it never even played it and never had the intention to do so, they were just happy to have a new gossip topic.
The butthurt over CDPRs false marketing as if they were the only ones who ever dared to do such a thing just confirms that they don't know shit about games. Todd has been telling sweet little lies for 30 years and is lying about Starfield RIGHT NOW yet everybody sucks his dick.

tl;dr I'm not saying CP2077 is good, I'm not saying it's okay to lie and release games in this state because everyone else does it, I'm just saying it was blown way out of proportion by people who don't know shit about the subject.

This Anon is right. CDPR literally made a separate demo that was never meant to be the actual game and went even further forbidding content creators to share any "non-approved" footage on their channels. CDPR knew exactly what they were doing by trying to trick everyone.

This is literally on an entirely different level from Bethesda's Todd, who only lies and upsells his games instead of literally making separate builds just to demo to people.

I actually played the game all the way through and experienced all the endings including the secret one . I can with absolute confidence state that the story is quite good. The gameplay however is a mess. It's an undisciplined mess of ideas from Fallout 3 / New Vegas / 4, Borderlands, Deus Ex Human Revolution and GTA, ultimately failing to capture the feeling of any of them. They can fix all the bugs that hinder the story's presentation, but they will never fix the shitty loot grind mess of gameplay.

Yeah this is what killed it for me. I did enjoy the story* but parts of it were so detached and weird and the game was so incongruent with what was going on I couldn't really get invested. They wanted to capture the sandbox cyberpunk crowd and the story crowd and it backfired. Personally I'd prefer the world where they focused more on sandbox elements and didn't go with such a constaining story but either way would work, just not this awkawrd middle ground they landed on.

It's the most boring shit ever because it's Diet Borderlands with its perk systems, gear mechanics, and how the cyberware changed gameplay. The fact that there's gear score is a fricking sin in of itself, and it needed to patch in the ability to craft upgrades for lower gear score items just to make sure unique and legendary items scaled with the game, like with Yorinobu's gun and sword.

You don't need to show me links to gameplay dumbass; I already said I played the game. Sure, the gunplay may be nice, but mechanically it's dogshit. The MMORPG gear scores, Borderlands-style unique magic weapon bullshit and elemental damage really take you out of the game. Quickhacking is also super unbalanced: Legendary Short Circuit at high Int can one shot almost all enemies in the game and can rip chunks out of the final boss even on the hardest difficulty. I had to stop using it because it was making the game too easy. The guards at the border crossing on normal difficulty were way harder than the final levels enemies on the hardest difficulty too.

there's a reason things like skyrim have been released 999 times with successful sales behind all of its iterations. even on console where there's nomodz, the ability to just turn your brain off and kill your sense of self while you lay on a couch and beat up monsters is a uniquely console-only experience unless you bend over backward to set up a giant desktop-to-livingroom HDMI railway in your house

The patches did not substantially alter the game at all. The biggest thing they did was reset the perks, which were one of the most stapled-on part of the game's mechanics and I doubt most players could even tell you which perks changed or how they changed, because of how boring they were. Just stuff like "-1% handgun recoil" and "+1% headshot critical damage".

Basically the game is the same now as it was at launch, just slightly less buggy on PC, and presumably a lot less buggy on consoles but nobody really cares about consoles. And yet, despite this, people now love it. Steam's user rating for it is mostly positive, and it was in Steam's top 20 most actively played games 2 years after release. Despite it being the same fricking game as it was at launch in terms of content and mechanics.

TL;DR it's just Ganker making a stink, game is objectively a massive success and its reputation was completely saved by the anime which made people realize how insane and unfair the hate was for it.

      >What I don't get is why CDPR acts like they didn't advertise a totally different game than what was released.
It's not "totally" different, the game they advertised and the final product are the same with only some missing mechanics.
A released game being downgraded or less ambitious that it was at some point during the development is more the norm than the exeption.

It's only not totally different in the sense that the basic framework is the same, but there were a TON of broken promises that were never intended to make it into the final game anyways. There's a huge list somewhere out there, but just off the top of my head the promise about different life paths affecting the story was totally bullshit for one.

          walls
I remember that one. I played the game after the next gen patch and I wonder how early in development they must have scratched that because the game is littered with invisible walls, instant death zones and witcher style "turn back only demons play here" warp zones.

the story was the central weakness of the game. the graphics and all that shit are just what people b***h about because most people don't spend a lot of time reading literary/gaming criticism and can't articulate it. but the problem was that the og trailer looked awesome and had a great dark scifi vibe, and what we got was mix of fortnight/urban/gtaV rip-off vibes.

you can tell something got seriously fricked up along the way and leadership changed. the place is called night city for fricks sake (in line with the original trailers feels) and yet most of the time it looks like miami and everyone is walking around in versacci shiny garbage.

        Anonymous

sure anon, the most aggressive entity culling and spawning system ever seen is just due to people being unable to articulate themselves. people just had no idea why the entire world would functionally delete itself whenever you failed to observe it, this phenomenon had never been encountered until this particular game

my point is that a cyberpunk city is not fricking los santos. they abandoned the vision from the original trailer and clearly went to rip off gtaV after seeing the insane money they were making. in ever respect NIGHT CITY, is really just LA. canonically, there was a big nucear war, wouldn't have been hard to make it closer to something like arkham knight where its actually on brand due to climate catastrophe or nuclear winter.

CDPR is really desperate to rewrite history on this game by pretending it wasn't a broken mess that was literally unplayable on older consoles and ran pretty badly on the newer ones even with the day 1 4gb patch. They did the same thing when edgerunners released, claiming people were finally realizing the game was always good.

Personally I think this is the wrong way to go about things. It's better to just focus on making your next DLC / game good then lash out at the fanbase saying they just "didn't get it".

      >remember things that never happened
      No, i don't. I am not a schizo.

I was curious too and the closest I found was this BS, in comparing with GTA
      >"If you want to go out on a rampage and have no remorse, then you have got the option, and that’s fine with us," he said. "However, once you start to play the missions and see the amount of options you have, I think that will make players stop and think a little bit before doing something reckless."
In the original release the police were useless and the NPCs wouldn't do shit, and all the "choice" and RPG elements that would have set it apart were minimal.

He’s so close to a right answer here, but fumbles the ball yet again.
The game was a mess on launch, especially on last gen consoles. But there is an obvious truth that the internet loves a punching bag and so when something is bad, everyone lines up to take a shot against it. The criticism was deserved. The hate was a bit much.

    >WAAAAAAAAH NO WE DIDN'T HAVE A SHITTY LAUNCH IT WAS A LIE YOU JUST MADE IT A COOL THING TO HATE ON IT

Jesus christ, how pathetic can these fricks be? Absolute zero self awareness, and I thought I had aspergers.

The worst thing is that historical revisionism may work because zoomers are getting told that Cyberspunk is "great" now and they will never experience Cyberpunk how it was when it launched.

      It is working.
If you can stomach it, look at any Twitter thread on this topic, everyone's just talking about the bugs. No mention of the insane lies CDPR told and fooled everyone with.
People liked an anime so that means the game was redeemed. Normies are moronic sheep.

Reminder that the anime adaptation saved them
the game is still shit and they have no right to think their overhyped fps with cancelled content was going to be any good in the state it was released

Reminder that you're moronic. The game had sold over 20 million before the anime released. BEFORE! Now it is close to 30 mil.

No one is talking about that. We're talking about the moron poles trying to pull historical revisionism and pretend that Cyberpunk didn't have a shitty launch. Are they going to attempt wiping the Yellow Box Of Apology from everyone's memory too?

        >pretend that Cyberpunk didn't have a shitty launch.
Humans using real statistics like refund numbers have no choice but to accept that the game was massive success. Subhumans going by the amount of trannies crying on rednothing/twatter and the youtube clickbait following on troony mod coattails are irrelevant.

lmao, it was nothing like the trailers, so many features cut - buggy and unfinished
Look at the PS4 version on launch again and try to say that with a straight face - overly harsh criticism my ass
