I still can’t figure out if I liked or hated dark souls 2. It’s gameplay and level design could be awful at times and the movement pissed me off but it’s the only souls game that keeps constantly coming back to my mind. Is it just Stockholm syndrome? Why does this game hold so much power over me?
i got burned out after the bee level because i was using the hard mode badge and it made the bee boss literally impossible. it was actually a fun challenge for awhile, but i took it off. also it only gives you like a 15% bonus to exp.
without hard mode, it's kind of a breeze. i'll pick it back up someday.
This homie unironically showed up here and named some of the blandest games in existence. This man is trying to enjoy his life, not finally put an end to it.
I feel like the people who make threads like this just need to take a step back and go do something else for a while. I'm 32 years old and I've never felt like there are never any good games to play. You must have a really narrow scope in what you like. Even if it's slow for some new games to come out there are always good old ones to go back on and play. Have you done all the classic megaman games? Donkey kong country? What about a playthrough of Heroes of Might and Magic 3? Did you ever beat Myst? There's even modern versions of it if you cant' stomach the original. What about some RTS campaigns like Starcraft or Red Alert 2? How about a Civ 5 or 6 playthrough? What about Smhups, did you ever play Einhander? What about all the Touhou games? What about games that can last hundreds/thousands of hours? A Diablo 2 playthrough or maybe a Binding of Isaac run?
I don't know. I have a hard time sympathizing with people like this. It's like you don't even really enjoy video games, you're just using them to fill a void and then getting impatient when they stop filling that void.
>Total war Shogun 2 >Rimworld >Disco Elysium >Fallout New Vegas >Project Zomboid >Crusader Kings 3 >Crusader Kings 2 >Stellaris >This War of Mine >Stardew Valley >Spec Ops The Line >Mount and Blade: Warband >Far Cry 3 >Dragons Dogma >Dying Light >Frostpunk >Chivalry 2 >GTA 4 >Max Payne 3
Their, a buncha good games some cheaper then other,. you must have not played atleast one of these .
The joke is that (atleast 4 me) there isn't games that I have either played or simply isn't for me >RTS
I have played all touhou games, I have played issac, I have played all kirby/mario a few zelda and if I could megaman games, modern games and ancient games like quake I and started playing Plutonia(doom) again...
I only want a game, a interesting game. Thats all
Not OP but I've played lots of videogames for most of my life so far and nowadays I find myself developing troubling behavior like mostly playing videogames if they have Steam achievements or not liking playing significantly older games because they're unpopular, and I can't tell if it's to compensate for the burnout of playing videogames because I genuinely have no willingness and desire to try anything else, if it's because I have played that many videogames in the first place that barely anything impresses me anymore that I use secondary things like popularity and "being part of the zeitgeist" as crutches to get myself to play it, or both, because I still play some games with no achievements that I particularly enjoy like Disco Elysium but not for long. It doesn't help that I don't play with anyone I know in real life because all the videogames they play are casual multiplayer ones like CSGO. Maybe the void for me is a community to belong to and social acceptance, something that not even Ganker really provides most of the time because there's too much shitposting of the unfun variety and too many casuals that I can't relate to. I can see why OP would ask for a good game, and frankly I can't really think of one that's also fun to approach without any kinks. Even Katana Zero which is one of the few games I've played lately that I could say "this really is amazing all-around" is actually unfinished and the DLC that was supposed to be released soon after the initial release was delayed for years.
Thats all
the best solution I've is to just try new (to you) games. literally just hit up cs.rin, or whatever your source for pirated games is, and download a new game every other week in between shifts at work. it's how I discovered shit like EDF 4.1 (before we had daily threads about it for months), from the depths (despite it having been early access at the time), brigador, crimsonland (which turned out to be a remake of an ancient realarcade game), beat hazard (a shooter with the amount of enemies and how aggressive they are determined by your music), project warlock (a sprite-based FPS centered around mixing magic and guns), and gunmetal (an OG xbox game about a transfroming mech that happens to be on steam). literally just try new things, hell, try new genres. the mind CRAVES novelty, and while having an old standby doesn't hurt, pirating games to try them doesn't hurt either, and you may actually enjoy yourself.
Downloading shitty but short indie games has kept me entertained for years. Nothing more comfy than spending a cold Saturday night playing Slavic first person “horror” games.
My brother, you're literally playing shit to fit in. A hobby should be something you genuinely enjoy doing, whatever socialization comes with it is secondary to that. If you don't like to play old shit because its not popular then you're just as much of a normie zoomer homosexual as the people you look down on. You've fallen for all the memes and shitposting. Frick what anybody else thinks, play the shit that you enjoy. Who cares whether or not the games you enjoy are good or popular? You're not a game dev and you're not a critic, so all of that is irrelevant to you. All that matters is whether or not you -regardless of any other outside factors- enjoy the game.
Also Katana Zero is overrated trash, go frick yourself.
I've played tons of games for fun, not to fit in, it's just that the combination of having high standards from experiencing tons of videogames as well as the innate human instinct to be part of a social group due to the absence of being in one made me feel burned out to a degree. I still play videogames most of the time but they're often games I've already played and love rather than new unique ones, and I'm far more interested in sequels regarding the games I already like than new games of franchises I haven't played. I used to play plenty of Team Fortress 2 but all the years of updates that removed a lot of the stuff that made it cool no longer made it appealing to me after thousands of hours, nowadays I see recommendations on Youtube about "the subtle interactions" and it's already a cow that has been milked dry. >normie
It's normalgay anon, and Katana Zero is great, talking shit about it won't change my thoughts on it. The combat is really snazzy, games with glass cannon characters that kill and get killed in one hit are the shit.
>Total war Shogun 2 >Rimworld >Disco Elysium >Fallout New Vegas >Project Zomboid >Crusader Kings 3 >Crusader Kings 2 >Stellaris >This War of Mine >Stardew Valley >Spec Ops The Line >Mount and Blade: Warband >Far Cry 3 >Dragons Dogma >Dying Light >Frostpunk >Chivalry 2 >GTA 4 >Max Payne 3

I’ve always considered that it depends on how much you like the setting of the older TW games. I love classic medieval and Roman settings so Medieval 2 and TW:Rome we’re my favorite games growing up but I hated Empire because I have no interest in the 1600s era. All the older games have tons of mods to work with newer hardware and gameplay tweaks and I recommend them if you are a casual fan of certain periods of history.
Empire is jank as hell but I still can put a playthrough every now and then into it

Fix your shit and then you won't be such a cynical frick and any game you play will entertain you.
Your deteriorating physical and mental health are the main reason you find no joy in anything.

I still can’t figure out if I liked or hated dark souls 2. It’s gameplay and level design could be awful at times and the movement pissed me off but it’s the only souls game that keeps constantly coming back to my mind. Is it just Stockholm syndrome? Why does this game hold so much power over me?

You ever play a Snoot Game or Cruelty Squad? Their both pretty good plus one's free (although it is a VN so it's barely a game)
Play the Alien Vendetta doom2 campaign. I like it better than Plutonia.
