Bro, there is a 60 years old fossil streaming regularly that plays puzzle games and sometimes do some real life puzzle with puzzle books that he bought. He has less than 10 viewers for the most part. There definitely are some old school grandpas still gaming and streaming. I won't get argue about one playing whatever one may describe as goyslop, but there definitely are some streaming.

there was a nice grandpa with a small shop where I was giving out lessons years ago. He had a nifty setup with a tv mounted up the corner where he usually sat and dealt with money, he played tomb raider and stuff on it while also having a laptop on his desk which I assume might have had games too since he sometimes fiddled with it and it was obviously not accounting or tax work, I thought it would have been rude of me to ask so I never was able to learn what it held. I wonder how he is doing nowadays, sadly the last time I went around there his shop wasn't there anymore.

The video game industry has been saturated by generations of people that played flappy bird and were like "I can make something like that for a living."
20 years ago, gaming was a hobby and developers actually had the mentality of "let's make a good game for the sake of making a good game".
Now, it's just another industry to fill up quotas and make money. So yeah, there are no more good games because the old generation of developers that cared are dying or have retired. Shooter games, action adventure games, rpgs, all these games haven't really changed the way they are "played" since 2011. Not only that BUT people focus on textures and shaders more than gameplay content now, you have games that are 100gb when only 20 or so of it is actual content.
