You literally fight gundyr twice
gundyr is a literal manifestation of the themes. DS3's theme is that everybody just wants to die. Nobody wants to link the flame again. All civilization is just people killing each other over and over. Gundyr is first met as Iudex (judge) gundyr, only letting worthwhile ashen ones through. He later becomes Champion Gundyr after defeating the rest of the ashen ones, well into the age of dark. Champion Gundyr is completely optional.
I like this game a lot better because the areas are all well designed. Elden Ring feels like it has filler like Naruto where I have to go through many hours of filler fields and copypasted dungeons in order to get to the real fricking areas. Also the normal enemies are much better designed because you can't just stagger them with jump attack, you actually have to dodge them. I've played elden ring for 100+ hours and I would still much rather replay every game in the series, including DS2.

Every area is basically a decorated corridor to the boss room, there's absolutely no sense of exploration whatsoever. There's a reason why everyone says DS3 is the weakest area-wise.

Lmao what? DS3 is infamous for the R1 spam combat. Every enemy gets staggered with just a light attack. The only enemies that don't get stagger-locked to death are the very large enemies, and Elden Ring has the exact same thing going for it too where large enemies don't get staggered until you break their stance.

There was never any reason to replay it because it's the same thing every time. Abyss Watchers first into Yhorm/Aldritch(you might argue this is a difference, but they're right next to each other, so it is not) into Princes. Fricking boring.

Whats a Gimmick to you? A gimmick is like having to target a heart or a weak spot, or interacting with objects to hurt the boss, like bed of chaos. The bosses in 3 are all soul, if you cant get passed Pontiff you might as well delete the game and pretend you never played it.
they are all standard dodge and r1 encounters. most of them will have a fadlst attack that you need to roll quickly and one slightly slower that will hit you if your roll immediately. you just have to be able to identify those two moves and then the boss is dead
DS3 was actually my first Dark Souls. Played it so much that I didn't have that much trouble beating DS1
DS3 had better style. ER better combat tho.
There is also no reason to play Bloodborne now
