I bet it goes something like this >Each planet is represented by a sandbox zone >"Will I be able to the whole thing?" >Yes, the entire thing (the sandbox zone)
Like I'd love to believe otherwise, but Hines is a known fricking crook little snake israelite
Its invis walls until you takeoff and re-land in a new area or a wall that loading screens a new map tile. Creation engine has a max map size it can address x,y,x coordinates on and catalog tiles and their assets per simulator load. Each landing zone is basically a pre-DLC Fallout 4 world map. There are no vehicles and atmospheric flight because tiles cant stream fast enough and you would pass world map to map too fast for the engine to keep up.
Leaks have implied the ship on planets is a fast travel portal to space or another map area. The tiles are pre-baked land geometry that can be tiled but each has probability nodes where NPC, structures, and resources can potentially appear based on the planets parameters. Is you played PSO1 dynamic missions you will know what to expect but in very high fidelity. That's also why every play through will be different aka the assets get semi-randomly placed until you learn all the spots of all the tiles it can potentially stitch together that run.
I am waiting to see actual gameplay before buying. As the wording leaves it still open to interpretation so he technically never lies.

God, imagine exploring an entire planet. A months-long journey where you explore a single planet in this massive game on foot and with your jet pack. I think the lack of ground vehicles really adds to the sense of adventure here. Pretty daring to make the planets not miniature-size in this case.
The scale is beleived to be about 1:20. If thats the case it would take maybe 10 days to walk around an earth-sized planet, if you really felt like doing that.

Lie now, apologize later, then wait for the Youtubers to make "The Engoodening of Starfield" videos claiming that you didn't lie, you were actually just really shy and it's kinda cute and people should buy your game.
>spend 3 hours walking across a barren rocky planet >see four notamudcrab alien beasts >finally find a rock that i can interact with >3 bottle caps

I didn't see it but I have read that there will be hazardous areas and armors that will protect against it, so it could just have been a normal hazard rather than a boundary effect.
There's gonna be invisible walls like all Bethesda games. They're lying like always, it's a 20 year old engine.
Clueless

Thats why I am waiting. Leaks are always descriptions without pics and footage to prove it.
hey tard muncher, cod's engine has its roots back to the 90s
same shit with the creation engine
>twitter slop

read between the lines : very small planets
I would be completely fine with this
ksp planets are like 1/10 scale and they still feel gigantic
Starfield planets are around 1/20 the size of earth. Definitely enough

I'll only believe it once an autistic youtuber analyst does a 6 hour essay on it
>months-long journey
I'll believe it when I see it. You could walk across the whole province of Skyrim faster than you could walk across my town

> Dear Salesperson, when I receive the stick of happiness, will I be able to beat a homie?

>walk on, brave explorer
lol nice way to imply the only way to "explore" is to walk.

Hold up. Somethings doesnt add up.
So you can walk entire planets...but there are no vehicles... and you cant fly your ship inside the atmosphere... huh?
If you walk too far away from the landing zone you will get killed by environmental hazards.
source?
from tyrones leak

>you go too far on a random planet the game motocross madness your ass into orbit
I wish bethesda was this based.
Anon stop noticing things
wow you can walk around thousands of miles of procedurally generated rock. the future is heckin awesome!!!
You don't have to.
>procedurally generated planets
yawn
How hasn't Pete Hines gotten fricking euthanized yet? Easily the biggest fraud in the industry.
No Man's Sky bros we are going home!
you can explore the planet, it'll just be empty because all the buildings and shit aren't procedurally generated
Where do you even get these ideas from? Its known that it will procedurally generate content as well as having places that are hand-made.
