I'll elaborate some more on this character. His name is Elwin. He's a bumpkin from the Orre region. His trainer origin story is that he accidentally took a plane to Johto, but he didn't speak the local language, and since he was too autistic to attempt communication, he slept in a tree. Rudely awoken by a Heracross, which he somehow managed to capture, Elwin made his way to the Goldenrod Department Store. By using a series of grunts, gestures, and with a little dumb luck on his side, he was now employed. After a while he learned to speak the language, and used his oratory capabilities to insist that heracross was the best bug-type pokemon, which culminated in the foundation of a bug-fighting club with his co-workers. Elwin would use his Heracross to defend the store from thieves and Rocket Grunts in the name of customer service and JUSTICE.
And it seems like the next plane he took wasn't back home to Orre, but to Zirca. Oh dear.

Im playing a rom hack called crystal clear and I see some of these tropes in that romhack , the amount of OCs that are in this game are baffling , and they all have shiny pokemon with custom non pokemon music too , at least none of them i've seen so far are edgy
Well, you have a bunch of autists putting their autism together, they will obviously want to sign the game with their OCs, and the more special they are, the better, including as you said, custom art and music that doesn't quite fit the game. Only difference is that this brand of autism simply isn't edgy, or shows restraint regarding the edge.
If it's well executed and in taste, there's no issue with it, ideally it should fit the game they're in to some extent. That said, were I in that position, I'd do the same in a heartbeat.

I'll elaborate some more on this character. His name is Elwin. He's a bumpkin from the Orre region. His trainer origin story is that he accidentally took a plane to Johto, but he didn't speak the local language, and since he was too autistic to attempt communication, he slept in a tree. Rudely awoken by a Heracross, which he somehow managed to capture, Elwin made his way to the Goldenrod Department Store. By using a series of grunts, gestures, and with a little dumb luck on his side, he was now employed. After a while he learned to speak the language, and used his oratory capabilities to insist that heracross was the best bug-type pokemon, which culminated in the foundation of a bug-fighting club with his co-workers. Elwin would use his Heracross to defend the store from thieves and Rocket Grunts in the name of customer service and JUSTICE.
And it seems like the next plane he took wasn't back home to Orre, but to Zirca. Oh dear.
On Orre citizen in Zirca, doesn't get any better than that.

Im playing a rom hack called crystal clear and I see some of these tropes in that romhack , the amount of OCs that are in this game are baffling , and they all have shiny pokemon with custom non pokemon music too , at least none of them i've seen so far are edgy
Well, you have a bunch of autists putting their autism together, they will obviously want to sign the game with their OCs, and the more special they are, the better, including as you said, custom art and music that doesn't quite fit the game. Only difference is that this brand of autism simply isn't edgy, or shows restraint regarding the edge.
If it's well executed and in taste, there's no issue with it, ideally it should fit the game they're in to some extent. That said, were I in that position, I'd do the same in a heartbeat.
It does somewhat fit the games , it's not bad , even the creator of the game makes an appearance in some random off the main path cave and gives you a sword (basically a cut that you don't need to have a pokemon to use) if you can save him out of the mines

And then in e19 the green haired evil lady turns out to be a puppet controlled by a 14 year old orphan girl that fell into Arceus's prison, the final postgame quest reveals she was raped by her dad.

If it were me the most self indulgence I'd allow is to make myself an Ace Trainer in a late area of the game like Victory Road and even then my team would just be Pokemon I liked rather than some competitive team.
