this game is a great FPS, everyone just has older type rifles so they're not as accurate and take a while to reload. so you really have to use teamwork and strategic positioning.

Xonotic was pretty good when I played it years ago. It had the opposite problem where there were too many guns and most of them were irrelevant.

FPS is a solved genre, it's basically impossible to create an unique FPS. Unless you combine it with a non-shit genre of course.
If you love weapons there are thousands of ways you can make new FPS games... but you actually have to love guns to understand that and most game dev never touched a gun in their lives.
Why? Realism doesn't make the games any more fun. Handling a gun IRL is nothing like pointing and clicking in a game.
