There is everything to play, you are just overwhelmed by choice, put a limit somewhere and start playing something at random, i'd reccomend a retro game that is actually fun and doesn't last long, from there you will hopefully discover new things you didn't know already existed and not rely on hype for new games that are with a pretty big chance going to be disappointing.
It's been really doing my head in that there's almost no popular, well liked multiplayer VS games right now. Literally every franchise is either dead, or just another "1000 hour negative review" case. The only thing that seems to be taking off is simulators or psuedo-sims. I just want to play a fun deathmatch game and they're all dead and awful.
I can't even just go with the easy, basic picks and play halo or cod or something. Everyone fricking hates them.

Just download an emulator and google "top X games for PS2" and I 100% guarantee that you'll find games you will like.

I guarantee (beyond ANY shadow of doubt) that the PS2 has games you will enjoy, because consoles games in that age were made for lots of different tastes. Sure you may not find them instantly but they are there. This isn't a debate topic, the PS2 has almost 4500 (four thousand and five hundred) games. Not anyone's fault if the only games you grew up with were Call of Duty and Halo, western games on consoles have created generations of people that don't know what a good videogame is and that's also why modern games regardless of the nation that produces them are so doo doo, like the only videogame genre that actually improved in the last 20 years are strategy ones, yes even RTS.

Anyone who complains that there's nothing to play has some sort of vendetta against indie games despite some of them having better quality than many AAA games. You don't have to play EVERY game in existence moron, you only have to find the kind of games (You) like.

I think the issue is that all they played shitty western games, probably on PC, no arcade culture, no console culture to speak of, all they played is probably job simulators, some shitty multiplayer games with servers that got shut down eons ago or FPS. Its the equivalent of someone that is tired of music because all he has listened to is whatever is on mainstream radio channels, yeah i can imagine why hearing the same pop slop that is factually identical over and over would make someone think like that, try something new ffs.
