yes, and after 4 there was some gamer webcomic that more or less said the same. Guy was riding F4 with power armor having fun, and other guy was criticizing the game as shallow. The comic was on the side of the guy enjoying F4, and portraying the other guy as a sour puss.
F3 and F4 put you in power armor as fast as possible and are designed around an amusement ride people pick up and put down to forget, rather than trying to craft realistic worlds.
Fallout 4 doesn't have anything as lame as Caesar's LARPers, so it has that going for it.
It has the railroad and the institute which are both worse.
They're really not. The Institute is much more believable as an "evil" faction and the Railroad is an underground movement that you can treat as a joke if you wish to. New Vegas forces you to take Caesar's Legion seriously and has you fight a bunch of LARPing gays in skirts in the final level.
Caesar's Legion also completely fails as a faction that the player would want to side with, but that's another topic.

It's time to come to terms with the fact that New Vegas is simply just overrated. Contrary to what people would like to believe, it is not, in fact, the greatest RPG ever made. There are even other entries in the fallout series that does things better than it does.

You want me to believe that the boomers were able to fix a plane that has been under water, rusting away for over 300 years! And not only that, but they were also able to break it apart and transport it back from lake Mead to Nellis base without anyone noticing and using nothing more than just a bunch of fricking Mr handy robots. If they can fix a plane in that condition why aren't they fixing the remaining planes inside the base? They fixed the B29 in a couple of days and yet despite living for decades inside the base and wanting to fly again they were unable to do it with the planes already on site? Sorry New Vegas sisters but this makes no sense, also why is the courier asking them them to bomb the legion while they are attacking the dam and not bomb them while they are in their base? The fact that the dam was able to survive being bombed the way it did without being destroy is a miracle.
Because the ones in the base were salvaged. they merely needed it to reverse engineer
