I think the EZ Flash seems better overall, the power usage is seemingly it's biggest flaw but I primarily want to use it in a GB Player

      elaborate on this anon
i never seemed to have any issues
i used my older easyflash IV with a busted case on my GBmicro & gb player with no issues
also on a ips modded gba

i had the everdrive gba and everdrivegb as well never seemed to notice any issues
all i did was launch games and play them
however for shit like pokemonzelda longsave progression games i always used real carts

i would say just get whatever "base" model is available with closest shipping under $100

for my own use case; (chiptune music)
i was happy enough with my ems64mbs and everdrive gb

if i want to play gba roms i can just load them on my pocket

It uses power faster than an Everdrive, what else is there to say? You get more battery life by using an Everdrive.

          >no Definitive Edition
          Outdated

When you save a game and turn off the GBA, it doesn’t actually save to the SD card until you turn the GBA on again and hit A to confirm the save, so if you turn it off before you do that it won’t actually save

This is accurate except you don't have to press A. Or at least it doesn't prompt you to press.it on the alternate menu for the DE anyway. There is a popup screen after boot that says it is saving, but it disappears on its own. I would like to add that it disappears way too soon because turning it off immediately after the screen disappears might still wipe your save.
I wish you could just enable something that would make it not do that shit, like save a backup before overwriting. Those save files are worth a lot more to me than an extra 64kb of space being taken up in current century.

      Why?

The EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition Revision B is the best one.

Revision A had worse power consumption than the Everdrive GBA Mini, which gave it an advantage. But due to the chip shortage a few years ago, they switched to Rev B which reduced power consumption. Now the EZ Flash is cheaper, has more features, and offers more hours of battery life.

What are the drawbacks of the EZ Flash?

        Anonymous

You're mostly limited to buying from chinks on AliExpress these days, so there is a worse customer experience.
There were legitimate problems with older carts like the original Omega's save bug which contributes to EZ Flash's poorer reputation, but they're solved with the newer Definitive Edition.

AliExpress does have good buyer protections. I buy there regularly and am able to get refunds when I have to. I know because I have been chinked before. Every flashcart I have bought has been fine though.

High positive feedback and good user reviews are what you're looking for.
                https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005078327248.html
You could also check ebay, chinese sellers pop up there frequently and you have similar buyer protections. eBay always sides with the buyer, even when it comes to items which break Ts&Cs.

I have the everdrive and it has basically no features besides that it just works. It also emulates GB and nes games but whoopty doo who gives a shit

EZ Flash Omega DE is better for having better game compatibility and more features. Rumble, cheats, savestates, ram expansion, NOR flash, or you can just turn all that shit off and play like a regular flash cart. Only thing I wish it could do is gyro games. It does have a lot of emulators working if you use the alternate menu.
    Here are the downsides:
    >higher power use of debatable significance
    >chink scammers on official dealer list, you may as well just buy from Amazon so you can dispute if you need to
    >it still fricking erases saves if you turn it off too soon after turning it on, be careful

I went with the everdrive, since my other everdrives are great and I was wary of power consumption.

Downside is no savestates or cheats. But I just patch the games with cheats when I want them.

Krikizz posts on /vr/ sometimes to try to sucker people into paying for his marked up and often artificially scarified Everdrives. That alone is a good enough reason to avoid the product. EZ Flash is cheaper, better and you're not paying the Apple tax for a brand name.

Having your country get wiped off the map is a pretty decent reason to slow down production for less than a year. He even still did the fricking Christmas discount
      >inb4 discount is proof it was marked up too high in the first place
EZ Omega DE is better than ED for GBA, but there isn't dick to compete with ED for any other console, unless you count the chinks using his leftovers or the two consoles with the even more expensive terraonion cancer.

There are more than two iterations of the EZ Flash Omega, Anon. Of the 3-4 that exist, the Everdrive only beats one specific model when it comes to drawing less power.

he should have redone the test but that was a handicap in favor of the EZ Flash. it wasn't doing anything and just had the screen on while the everdrive was running F-Zero all night

                >that was a handicap in favor of the EZ Flash. it wasn't doing anything
You have absolutely no idea whether that's the case or not. It may have been infinitely executing an instruction upon crashing, which isn't an uncommon fail state, and as such working the hardware (and thus battery) harder than running the game normally. Your test is a failure. Your shill campaign is a failure. You are a failure. Come back with some ACTUAL evidence in a like for like test or... actually, just frick off. Everybody here knows what you're doing.
