>steam sales turns out to be profitable >game pass turns out to be profitable
meanwhile >snoy still seethes and tries to artificially hike the price of a game to $70 >tendies pay $60 for 12 year old games
The main goal is to steal Playstation customers to destroy them and it's working great. Long term gain is no competition and a coexistence with Nintendo. I'm not a fanboy and get whatever has games. Last time it was PS4, this time I have a Switch and PC but might get an Xbox for convenience. At least you can actually buy their consoles at MSRP.
It's currently not profitable, but that's by design. It's netflix all over again but video games. >Provide high value library for low low prices >Build up user base >Slowly hike up prices over time while lowering both quantity and quality of library over time
How high can it get to where you wouldn't pay for it? I don't subscribe but I'd say $30 a month is when I'd unsubscribe if I already played everything I wanted to.
They'd have to rework the Microsoft Rewards system and shut down the xbox live to gamepass conversion because that's how I'm getting all my gamepass sub.
I forgot that it's also bolstering Bing use which means more companies will pay for ad revenue for the slight bump in people actually using Bing over Google. Pretty smart tbh. They're doing mild AOE damage with Gamepass.
They just want to lock you in so you feel like you have to stick with them a year or so down the line when sony can no longer compete and all of the save files and everything are locked to your account.
Gamepass x Nintendo online with Microsoft helping Nintendo understand that that their catalog is fucchueg and they're doing Nintendo Online all fricking wrong. Imagine paying $10 to play every EA, Nintendo and M$ game and cancelling whenever you want?
How would it not be profitable? 25 million subscribers x $10 or $15 per month. That's approx 3 to 4.5 billion in revenue per year. A lot of the games are shitty indie ones that MS would have paid bottom dollar for plus all the MS studio games are provided at cost price to game pass.
why not?
Yes so enjoy it while it lasts.
they don't need to, ms is backing them up, better enjoy it before every publisher decides to say no and make their own like what happened to Netflix.
It's a loss leader

It's a scheme like all streaming services.

Same, the Bing rewards is busted if you know how to work it.

Yes it is. You're just stupid
like every other sub service the money comes in from people forgetting to cancel it
It will go the way of netflix eventually but for now it has been a blessing for me
