          Anonymous

I always found NV’s enemies spongier because of DT and armor. You need to craft different ammo types to make NV not spongey. At least in 3, crits and sneak crits are enough to negate any potential sponginess.

            Anonymous

You can just buy all the ammo you need and every weapon class has some Big Gun that solves all the problems.
In f3 enemies are sponges and you can't do anything about it.

I have over 1k hours in NV and am a self-proclaimed god of the game, and I don't think I ever crafted a single AP bullet. Ironically enough, New Vegas dedicated A LOT more attention to critical strikes and crit builds are pretty much the best builds to take across all weapons besides explosives for obvious reasons. A well done New Vegas build will obliterate the toughest and meanest targets in the game in a matter of seconds, while in 3 literally no amount of fine-tuning and topshelf gear hunting will make albino scorpion / supermutant overlord / reaver ghoul fights fast.

Narratives change all the time. Horse Armor and Oblivions mechanics and leveling are now “kino.” Fallout 3 is now “based.” Dark Souls 2 is now an “acclaimed achievement” but is also hated by people who “just don’t get it.” 3D Zelda games before BOTW are “outdated boomer nonsense.” Not liking Fortnite is “bluepilled.” I dont know why people take opinions here seriously, somebody born in 2005 is old enough to stink up this board.

Almost everyone uses Repair because of Jury Rigging, but you're right about the other two, especially Survival. Crossing the 50 threshold makes ordinary garbage snacks into very potent healing items and with their abundancy you will almost never need stimpacks at all. And don't even get me started on the criminally neglected campfire recipes. A simple gecko steak takes very little skill to prepare and works wonders even in midgame and even at low Survival. And have you seen crazy shit like Battle Brew, Slasher, or the downright legendary in hardcore Healing Poultice? Shit's wild.

                >everyone uses Repair because of Jury Rigging

That isn’t what happened at all. NV was divisive when it realised. People thought it was a good game, but a lot of people didn’t like it as much as 3 because it was blatantly unfinished and less sandboxy.

I distinctly remember some people even saying that NV was “boring” in comparison to 3.

I played New Vegas day one pirate. It was a massive disappointment. Empty desert, walking simulator, railroaded start, no interesting architecture, music was dogshit, quests felt paper thin, New Vegas itself as a city was the ultimate disappointment I’ve ever experienced in any game with how underwhelming it was, graphics weren’t improved, ammo was too plentiful, healing items and caps overflowed to the point that it became piss easy even on the hardest difficulty, the characters were mostly absurd clowns, enemies were much more rare, Mr Vegas sounded like a man transitioning into becoming a woman.

It was all just terrible. The fleshed out factions and added ADS did not make up for such a bland world.

New Vegas is the go to game for troons to use as idpol propaganda vehicle because it's widely known, beloved, and has themes that could technically be described as political. So the leftroons latched onto it to convert normalgays to their diseased ideology because "muh how can you possibly dislike our dogshit politics in your vidya if one of your beloved games has politics in it? It's literally the same thing!"
It's also your go to game when you want an accessible, intuitive RPG with a lot of roleplaying freedom, so it's a suitable vessel for a troony to project an idealized avatar into.
NV itself is good, it's just coincidentally also good for being used as a tool for a special kind of mental illness. Just because you can use a kitchen knife to castrate yourself, that doesn't mean that every chef in existence is a eunuch.

Because there aren't many good enough games that copy 3D Fallouts (or Elder Scrolls games), and New Vegas is just more or less overall the best of the 3D Fallouts in terms of roleplaying, worldbuilding. It has good enough crafting, aiming down sights, compared to Fallout 3, better story and roleplaying compared to Fallout 4 and so on. And like in all Fallouts, looting old buildings for gear is kind of satisfying.
I frankly just wish there were other companies that made good copycats of Bethesda (yes yes, and Obsidian for NV) rpgs, and maybe even improve on the formula.

They literally tell you the recommended level once you get the "Are you sure you want to start this DLC" screen. The only one that doesn't is Honest Hearts and you can do it as early as you please.
On my current run I went into Honest Hearts first as a level 8 or level 10. Right now I'm 16. Hoping to clear at least 20 before returning cause I want to have level 30 by the end of Dead Money.

don’t bother with dead money if you’re playing on survival. I honestly forgot how tedious dead money was when you were outside the casino

Hardcore adds or removes pretty much nothing to or from DM. They even made sure to look out for inept babbies like you and disabled sleep deprivation in DLC areas.

Black person I cleared it, didn’t make it fun. I just replayed nv 3 weeks ago, and running through the mist on backtracking fetch quests did not hold up

          >Hardcore adds or removes pretty much nothing to or from DM.
Wrong it adds the cloud draining your life which makes insufferably dull because you're gonna keep saves cumming the concentrated cloud encounters since you're always at 1hp.
Disabling sleep is not even a problem because the auto-docs give you adrenaline shots anyway.
Dead Money has very flawed design.
It'd be much more interesting if the cloud didn't drain you, the ghost people had infinite spawns outside and your exploration was of buildings looking for beds and food instead of gay balconies and diaries

Use the massive amounts of stimpaks you get and this won't happen. You do use consumable items, right?

              >Use the massive amounts of stimpaks you get
The ones that I can't bring to to the casino?
Plus, with how much exploration you do it's unsustainable to just keep buying them, since your HP goes from full to zero in 20s
Add in the extra difficulties from Jsawyer's mod like weight and no longer Infinite chips with high luck and it's even worse.
All because it added a moronic feature that doesn't even make sense

It's a game full of passion and charm and the best first person rpg ever made.
Despite having big flaws, the positive qualities are so amazing they overshadow them completely.

Are you some kinda MMO gay who needs battlepasses every month? You physically cannot go amywhere near 100% without replaying the game and working on sifferent outcomes. How much more replayability do you need?

          Anonymous

I think people believe it’s replayable because it has 4 endings. But each of these endings are just “routes” that you eventually hardlock yourself into in an SMT like fashion— And most people only play one ending each time anyway.

I’d argue 3 is more replayable despite the Main Quest having fewer branches because the overworld is filled with random encounters that make exploring the wasteland slightly different each time.

just yse viva new vegas' wabbajack installation. it does almost everything for you except you have to manually click download when a prompt asks you to. shouldnt take much longer than 30 minutes with average internet, 10 minutes with a fast one.

Literally no one, not a single fricking soul ever goes to this place in their first run. They only ever go there in runs 2 and onwards because they're actively looking for shit they missed or read about the vault 34 survivors in a wiki.
