Nu gen privelge, Game Freak was too stupid to now how their Game worked Gen 1 so they weren't able to make CHARIZARD as broken as they wanted to, and afterwords they intentinally gimped starters to stop them from surprassing CHARIZARD. Only once they new how to make CHARIZARD broken (special snowflake forms and constant movepool buffs to the point were it has the best movepool of any starer and 12th best in the entire franchise) did they let other starers be worth a damn. Blaziken got lucky because its Masudas fursona before BAra Tiger of Healthy meta.
