No, and they're way too expensive now. Thought $25 was dumb for them 10 years ago. I mean, look at the location of A and B... Would've made more sense to style it like a Sega 6 button
These are unironically better. The analog stick is fantastic. The only thing that's bad is the D-pad, it registers false diagonals like crazy, so keep your OG controller around for the few games that require it.
They're fine but you'll be better off getting a Retro-Bit Tribute 64. The stick on the HORI is kinda bad for several reasons, too springy and it also clicks.
Outside of stuff with remappable controls like goldeneye there's really no games that use both the joystick and dpad in the way this HORI controller would imply. As is it's just a waste of space for joystick games and unusable for dpad games. They'd honestly be better off with some kind of switch that lets you map the joystick to dpad inputs.
I got the same color a few months ago for about $30 with shipping. It needed a little cleaning but it’s worth it. That being said, still prefer a regular N64 controller.
I got the Retrobit controller that's basically the same thing. They're not quite the same size but this shit is dramatically cheaper and I'd say it's pretty alright. Lower build quality but wow who would have guessed. It's like a tenth of the price or whatever. If you like N64 what do you have to lose
I just use a GC controller for N64 games because frick it, works well enough for me.
Biggest con is the c-stick nipple over having actual c buttons, but everything else works quite well imo.
For average sized hands, they are small. The D-pad is tiny and not in a good place for games that use that for its primary movement. Otherwise, they are serviceable for some N64 games.

They weren't $25 10 years ago, they were never cheap.
in australia they were cheap
looks cheap to me

good morning and thank you sir
the chinks made their own version of the HORI mini?
the mold looks nothing like the original OR the retro bit one

I have a retro bit tribute and really like it
I have the wireless version, it feels like sex.
That D-Pad location hurts my soul
Why not try it yourself
Get the chinese ones, they're better.
Doubt
I have a bunch of different controllers, the chinese ones are solid. They're clones of the Retrobit wireless pad except they're wired.
Some controllers are so aesthetically pleasing. This is not one of them.
why even have the dpad?
Just for the few times it’s needed in analog-centric games.

Retro Brawler 64 is better.
can confirm Retro Brawler is a quality pad
you'll have to get used to the Z button not being in the usual place
even metaljesus hates it
L-button rubs stick
yikes
> L-button rubs stick
I thought they fixed that in later models?
They did.
That dpad placement always pissed me off on these controllers.
People are mixed but get the Brawler 64. Modern design, turbo buttons, light, comfy.
>People are mixed
Yes. Unlike npc shills.

looks like unusable trash
but if you didnt grow up with the original controllers you can pretend not to know any different
i refuse to use garbo 3rd party shit
Too tiny and too expensive.
