>These Japanese developers designed games in their early to late 20s
>Me in 2024 at their age
>achieved nothing
>still unemployed
Good idea looking up their ages of when they started their career now I’m going to kill myself

DMT Has Friends For Me Shirt $21.68 |
Just have your 16 year old friend invite you to join his business he started with $5000 with no experience. It's easy.
Shiggy is a nepo baby, he didn't even know how to code.
why are jap devs so fricking kino?
>In 1989, Iranian-American programmer Nasir Gebelli was forced to leave Squaresoft offices and Japan due to his immigration/visa status. This was all in the middle of making Final Fantasy 3, his coworkers wagered Nasir was so essential to Final Fantasy that it was more economic to move the entire crew to him in Sacramento, California. The rest of Final Fantasy 3 was created in a motel while his visa situation was resolved.
Soul and lots of it
HOLY FRICKING KINO
Its the large amounts of stationary everywhere
When devs put their heart and soul into something it shows. Modern devs are untalented shitters that drag everything out for max shekels
Make a game before you have a nice day.
Infact, have a nice day by working yourself to death.
If you didn't start progamming and drawing before you turned 13 you are never going to make a good game and you might as well have a nice day because your brain will never be at peak neuroplasticity again.
This. IT IS FRICKING OVEEEERRRRRRRR
GRRRRRRR
IF YOU'RE 30 YOUR LIFE IS FRICKING DONE YOU ARE A WALKING 31 YEAR OLD CORPSE
Nope, i harvest the neuroplasticity from the brains of children i abduct.
This is an obvious shitpost, but it's sad that so many actually think this way.
Partially true, however, rather than plasticity the more important developmental milestone is fundamental ways of thinking.
Regardless of when you choose to learn a new language having a wide range of phonemes exposed to you in the first two years of life increases your capacity for learning language.
It's not wiring up new skills that's hard but making new nodes to wire up. If you have the nodes the skills are simple as frick no matter when you approach. It's why some old people don't struggle at all with technology.
Basically if you experience and learn broadly you're best equipped.
drawing, I'll give you that
but programming? you don't need anything above shit-level programming to make a successful game
>drawing
if that absolute tard pewdiepie can actually learn to draw, then almosy anyone could, given enough effort
because most game devs that made the best games of all time started before 13 right?
honestly idk if even 1 did
How old were the Oliver Twins back when they started?
their first game was at 17
I think they started at 15
>honestly idk if even 1 did
You are a fricking moronic homosexual all the best game devs start that early. Satoru Iwata started making games for a progammable calculator when he was in midlde school and by the time he was 20 he was making games at HAL. Kazuaki Morita programmed the original Super Mario Bros when he was only 19 literally all the best games are made by teenagers and young adults who started as kids.
My friend makes a bunch of steam games and he doesn't even know how to write hello world lol
Who cares moron, some losers here are NEETs in their later thirties and forties and are proud of it
Just like some people started their career when they were teenagers, what matters is yourself and your own accomplishments.
So stop looking at others, and look instead at yourself and see what you can do to better yourself up
based
cringe
How delusional are you?
There is nothing fun about being decade or longer behind the game of life.
No one is proud of that.
It's a suicide fuel I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
>Feels behind in life
>Instead of getting to work to at least finish the race, instead chooses to wallow in self pity
enjoy making it in your 30s/40s dumbass
Already did, moron. And that was after being a heroin addict for years.
does quitting blow hurt
Cocaine withdrawals are mostly psychological. You'll just be extremely depressed for a while. Heroin withdrawals are that + your whole body will feel severely weak and agitated. It's actually hell.
I will, thank you for your support!
>he thinks development only happens in your younger years
You know how many people in their later years I've seen fly by those who started their careers earlier? Progress isn't linear nor does it begin at the same time for everyone you fricking waste of space. It's very obvious that you're projecting your own inadequacies onto others
Would you rather be crippled and physically incapable of achieving your goals no matter how much you try?
You don't know how good you got it gay, also if you're unemployed you got nothing but free time. Frick you, get over yourself you pathetic worm.
the "game of life" is a psyop you fricking moron. To nature, the only thing that matters if you reproduce or not. The unemployed have more kids than employed people do.
You will never experience greatness
I'm sure van gogh experienced a great sense of bliss when he fricking killed himself at 37
Van Gogh started very late in life. If he had started in his late teens, he would had become famous and never commit suicide. This is the fate of anyone who starts something late in life. It's truly over if you are an unfulfilled 30 year old. Sorry.
He also had likely no interest or intent to be an artist when he was younger. You think Miyamutoid wanted to make games as a kid?
Elaborate on what the universally agreed upon description for "greatness" is.
>i am le behind its so over bros
19 year old moment
you're probably going to live a long time, get over it
Nah. I wanna make games and i actively am now,but i also did as a teen and early 20s, but i had no structure, i had vague ideas that were not made concrete. Had i made games, they would have been dissapointing to me. Now, i have a clear path i want to follow. An understanding of myself and what i want to make and time to dick around with those concepts. Sure it would have been cool to have these ideas when i was younger, but time has allowed me draw the blueprint i want for my life going forward rather then winging it.
>the game of life.
No such thing. The only endgoal is death.
what, you dont wanna make it then die a couple years later like colonel sanders?
homosexual nihilismbaby
Chad creatividad
Better than fricking lottery, actual and genuine advice in Ganker.
It was only the following decades after WW2 that meritocracy was practiced; hence why people call those decades the greatest in human history (at least for westerners and Japan). This plutocracy, nepotism, and corporatism existed before boomers.
>i am not a famous and successful developer in my twenties
>its over, might as well kill myself
zoomers in a nutshell.
>Toru Iwatani
Designed Pac-Man when he was 25, Bombee and Cutie Q when he was 23-24
>Miyamoto
Worked with Nintendo since he was 25
>Hisao Oguchi
Made Doki Doki Penguin Land at 25.
>Yu Suzuki
Worked with Sega at 25.
>Keiji Inafune
Made Mega Man when he was 22.
>Yuji Naka
Worked with Sega when he was 19. Made Sonic when he was 26.
>Hideo Kojima
>Made Metal Gear when he was 24
damn i am not as successful as 0.1% of the industry. might as well kill myself.
>Keiji Inafune
is a hack.
>Yuji Naka
can only program and is dogshit at anything else.
Stop getting lost in the programming sauce and learn actual game design first
Hey moron, did you know that pretty much any worthwhile achievement usually takes a few years? Will you be dead in a few years? If not, then perhaps you should get started instead of crying.
Yup! They probably laugh at others during beginning stages then hate on them when its successful too
The long and arduous process is never what people talk about. People only talk about the success, but rarely about the countless hours ripping your hair out of your head from failure after failure after failure. Some are lucky and are born with connections, but if there is a way, there is always a way.
"I was an overnight success all right. But 30 years is a long, long night." -Ray Kroc
There's literally no downside to having hope.
She needs fat ugly bastard correction.
ngmi with that attitude.
These NEETs are crippled mentally, ans they are wrong about it being over in their 20s, in reality if you had any promise you would show it at a young age, teens at the latest. It was over the moment you decided it was over. Low IQ bullying victims simply get placed in a lower spot in society.
>bullies are... le good!
daring today are we Ganker.
I mean, that is something in your control and you just failed at life.
>stealth off-topic feels thread
I agree, have a nice day.
Frick working, man. All you're doing is making Mr. Shekelberg richer and giving the government taxes that they use to oppress you. NEET 4 lyfe.
>Frick working, man. All you're doing is making Mr. Shekelberg richer and giving the government taxes that they use to oppress you. NEET 4 lyfe.
>these
>it's only miyamoto on the photos
fricking zoomers
The west has fallen.
>grandpa asked me 10 years ago how I was going to compete with the "chinks" when I was going to college for CS
>he was right
forgive me grandfather
Your grandpa pulled the hood over your eyes reall good.He was the one that voted in all the people that allowed the chinese to get one over you and then he just did what all boomers do;shift blame and pretend it's a problem somebody else caused in the hope that their grandchildren don't figure out how badly they screwed them over and go shit on their graves in retaliation and curse their names every day of the week.
some people just have to the drive to do things.
The only reason i want success is so i can stop working and flaunt my acceptable amount of financial improvement to attract a female to produce a spawn with. Idc about living beyond my means, i have become accustomed to filth. Social clout and being famous that random people recognize you by your face sounds like a hellish existence. I just want to make good enough wealth and sit comfortably in the background till the Death Hour.
Literally me except film
>bee mee
>born and raised in turd world country in a middle-lower income family
>watch old quinema that was torrented in my 10mbps wifi (but I'm sneeding the torrent, chill)
>fell in love with quinoa so badly that I want to work in cine industry as a kinema director
>graduated from hs with a good score, get some discount to uni and majoring in film stuff
>graduated with a good GPA from uni, but ended up being jobless and taking some hentai drawing commission instead
>only 10% of my friends who went to film are mostly because of familial nepotism a.k.a. dad and uncle are already working in that industry
>most of my film friends are now becoming a corposlave as marketing guy, some are selling clothes, and some are trying to become a israelitetuber
>some friends from game design major, who are forming an independent studio for their debut project are running out of money in the midst of pre production, they are now disbanded, and some of them are working as those programmer or IT guy at corpo now
Shit are depressing af
i can't finish more than a few sentences of your post and i have to stop reading because you sound like such an overwhelmingly insufferable homosexual. i hope you die soon. or have a nice day.
>becomes incredibly beloved while being a pioneer in an early medium
>absolutely fails at his actual dream and is forced to churn out shit for the role he is now financially dependent on
Grass is always greener or some shit.
Bricks are always browner
I've been making games since I was like 7 years old playing around with game maker. I'm 29 now and still haven't released anything. Frick me.
I do work in the industry as a programmer so my name is on some shit games I wouldn't actually play myself, lovely.
I should add that my boss at work released 3 games in his first year on the job because those were the times
Now I spend 2 years on a single AAA alpha that gets cancelled
moron, you already have the skillset you need, as well as the practical experience in a studio. What's stopping you?
Put it this way: there are many people at this very moment who don't even know how to code yet, that will eventually create a successful game in the future. You're already ahead of the curve and you don't even know it...
I've been working on a game for 3 years, it's just actually finishing it that's the problem. Legit considering making a smaller scope side project out of a jam game I made recently
>all these 25 year olds made kino games that have endured the decades
>now these very same guys are in their 50 & 60s and putting out absolutely soulless shit flops
all your SOVL is gone by 30, only greedy remains
>now these very same guys are in their 50 & 60s and putting out absolutely soulless shit flops
Implying that they were even involved at all with the newer games and only gets executive producer credit
Comparison is one of the worst things to do in such a situation
You are trying to beat the person you were yesterday, no one else
It was so easy for anyone to stumble into the video game industry back then because it was in its infancy. You didn't even need to know anything about game development either with so many people just being idea guys.
i-it's the economy I swear
forklift driver license and you will be saved
