I will say after comparing and reviewing older sprites to new ones I do think old gen sprites had more character and with each DS game the sprites become more like generic brand approved versions of them. But that's all I'll agree with in general.

Gen 5 was the best looking, but I wouldn't say any of it's games were really contenders for best. It's just that it all got a lot worse right after, rather than better in some ways and worse in others.
