I would never buy a g510, it's just overkill for no reason. You could be fine with just a standard keyboard, but no one likes trash, and Logitech is infamous for making trash.
The G510 was the breasts for hardcore MMO shit. I had one when I was chasing BC and WotLK world firsts. The different profiles were fricking awesome for multiple characters/specs. It gave me a tangible advantage over my peers and earned me a top 3 global ranking for my main during the Naxx days.
Shame they never offered a mechanical variant and the software is abandonware at this point. I kept mine until last year when it finally gave out. I'm not nearly sweaty enough to justify anything remotely that specialized anymore.

You're behind the times, in 2023 you usually need to pay extra to get anything without gaymer lights unless you're buying 5 cent office hardware meant for torturing wage slaves.

just a heads up only the pro versions are programmable, hence the name. non pro keychrons are not programmable as far as I'm aware.
I'm using a g510 at this very moment, and I had a g15 before that. Having dozens of extra macro / shortcut keys which I can customize for each game gives me a lot more functionality than simply having keypresses feel different.

I used to type on a membrane thinking mechanical keyboards were an overpriced meme. Eventually I did buy one though because my membrane broke. After about 5 years or so I tried typing on a membrane again, membrane keyboards are mushy and gross to type on. It feels extremely cheap. I mean they literally are. It's fine if you don't know any better. I don't get why you'd ever pay premium for a membrane keyboard though.
Either you use a 5 dollar office keyboard, or you get a mechanical. There's no in between. At least that's my opinion.

I had her for so long until the space key broke. Why are the tiny keyboard screens dead? It was nice to be able to just look down at it for quick info instead of needing an overlay.

You answered your own question, overlays become common and there was no need for a separate screen on the keyboard. For a while they had pretty good support from quite a few games, but practically zero now. They never caught on enough to be standardized.

This, funnily enough the only thing that really goes wrong with them is the spacebar gives out after fifteen or so years, if not longer. These things are built like a truck and really made life easier.

It can display playing media, clock, countdown timer and some other things overall it's pretty neat mostly use it for the analogue clock display.

I use a membrane keyboard at work. My job is pure paperwork bullshit. I hate it with every fiber of my being. Mecahnical keyboards are much more pleasant to type on.
Office workers either type with what they're given at work (which is the cheapest keyboard available), or bring their own keyboards from home, which are almost always mechanical. Additionally most office workers are hunt and peckers who can't even touch type. I wouldn't value their opinion to begin with.

I had a Logitech G510, it actually sucks in comparison to mechanical keyboards. Also macro buttons are a gimmick, they're too far away from your main controls to actually save you any amount of time doing anything.

If you already know where all the keys are, it's pretty easy to re-learn to type "properly". I don't think there's really any point to it though. As long as you know how to touch type at all you're pretty good I think. As long as you don't have to like pause and manually think before every key press.
