It is ironic even though the leaders of Galar wear uniforms, they project more individuality and originality unlike the leaders of Paldea who wear outfits specific to their professions or tastes and yet feel generic.
Maybe it's a psychological effect that every little difference in their uniform reflects part of their personality, while the Paldea guys look like they're straight out of a generic JRPG, especially their E4 who only look like office workers.
Don't most of the Galar gym leaders barely do anything. They have all of their simple lore dumped onto a card I know Paldea doesn't do much outside of their gyms as well, but at least they have far more interactions and history with each other thanks to the league club room and a more natural way of learning information about them than just a text dump on a card. Kanto > Hoenn > Sinnoh > Unova > Johto > Alola > Galar > Paldea > Kalos
Alola is a bit weird because they’re not technically gym leaders, but still. The ones that standout from there are just such big standouts that it makes no sense to have it lower than that.

Paldea's set has more personality overall than every other game's barring Galar's simply because they got two chances to showcase it (rematch dialogue and League Club) on top of strong circumstances surrounding their characters (Larry's relation with the E4, Kofu's wallet mishap, Grusha's backstory shedding light on why he acts the way he does, etc.). Of course it has stinkers, but literally every set does. If you think this group is somehow weaker than any gen's barring 7, 8, or 5's (and the last one is pushing it given how little many of them did) you're legitimately just nostalgia-blind
I like Tulip and Ryme, they had a lot of personality in a short time and Double Battles>Singles by default.
I like Larry but not as much as the others, and definitely not as much as people obsessing over him and going LITERALLY ME FR FR!
Grusha is neat with his negative nancy personality but holy frick in spite of being in the "strongest" slot he honestly always ends up feeling weaker then Tulip (and Eri) for me and disproportionately easy to beat and i always end up flipping him and Tulip in Gym Order as a result.

Eri not only has more Pokemon but she has like 10 levels over his team on average and is the highest leveled trainer before entering the "endgame" of each route (Arven's fight, Clavell+Penny fight, E4 and everything after). She's pretty clearly supposed to be the "strongest".
