He's not a chosen one, he's a scrub who happened to find the Pokéball with Rayquaza in it. Rayquaza broke out of the ball and he's been trying to track it down and properly catch it ever since, but so far he hasn't even been able to make Rayquaza take notice of him because he's too weak.
I tried to give it a chance since I’ve wanted pokemon to move on from ash and focus on new characters for years, but it’s just so fricking boring, the characters and the story are both completely uninteresting, and the visuals are as generic as it gets.
