ghost games tried to make one in 2015-2016 but they made the huge mistake of making it online only

It has awful driving mechanics. It's so bad I tried it again a couple months ago and dropped it within 30 minutes. Drift to turn needs to be removed.

Mirror magic, we've lost the technology. In a few more years IRL mirror technology will be lost to us as well.

I think the real answer is mods. Rear view mirror is usually only available in hood cam

      Anonymous

By rendering it twice, but everything in the rear-view mirror is less detailed and lower resolution

      Anonymous

It's easy when the mirror is just an on-screen element, like in this instance, although the reflection quality is still much lower to make it cheaper to render. When the mirror is part of the world, then you run into issues because you need to ensure that objects in the space behind the mirror aren't rendered, and because culling draw calls for reflections of objects that aren't visible in the mirror image (and, conversely, ensuring that objects that aren't visible normally but whose reflections CAN be seen) is much more difficult.

Since games switched from rendering mainly tight interior environments with portal culling to much more open environments with frustum culling, rendering planar reflections correctly and efficiently became much more difficult. In fact, some games just render them incorrectly. There's a room in Dark Souls 3 with a reflective floor, but if you pan the camera down so that an object isn't visible anymore, its reflection will also disappear.

That one nfs that's always at night and rainy, is it worth it? The setting and aesthetic seems great.
I remember watching a couple vids long ago and it looked damn comfy, plus the fmv cutscenes were a really nice callback to the most wanted era.
What's it called again? I wish they'd stick to some kind of naming convention.

If you've never driven a car and / or are able to overlook driving physics not making sense at all get it.

It made newer games look awful. It had to be destroyed to lower standards and expectations.

It really didnt. The only funny thing was, that they merged maps from different games.
Its like comparing fifa online to the mainline fifa. Yeah cool, you make a game for the thirld world regions, but you have a mainline game that also can be played online and does everything the same, but also get more advanced. World would not catch up to the new games in terms of physics or content. Ghost could not even maintain nfs2015 as a gaas and its painful to even watch at heat and unbound, world would stagnate as soon as ea understands its redudnant, which is what happend.
Remember China had a nfs equivalent of fifa online, was closed after like a year, who the frick needs it?

2003 - 2008 just somehow feels like the golden age of single-player gaming in consoles.
Just look at Ace Combat. I just finished AC7 and I was bored and sleepy.
When I finished AC0 my hands were shaking from dodging the final boss. My ears were blessed with the music.
MW and Carbon feels memorable. NFS Unbound feels forgettable.
I still remember GTA San Andreas's map better than I do my hometown.
