Also in PoE the engaging part is maximizing what you want from the endgame. Harvest opens up very specific crafting, same for beasts and betrayal. Minmaxing your maps to squeeze out every little bit of potential and making a character that can handle that type of minmaxing is the engaging part, since you have so many moving bits and pieces that go into that. And that is just if you want to craft which adds another whole game into PoE, where you can just spend your days sitting in the hideout crafting shit and figuring out what meta build is most willing to part with their cash.
You had the infinitely scaling delve as well, which again, requires quite the different approach compare to "just kill mob with 1 button eks dee" which might work in maps.

You can minmax for maximum harvest juice, which while neutered is still the only way to do a ton of things, which is why running harvest on your map alone would get you 30c+ with no investment outside of the atlas tree and alch and go. >delve useless because fossils
Thank god you need delve for the aul amulets which go for upwards of 50 divs+ and you also get fractured delve only items and ultimatum shit out of it (and rings, but only like 2 have some value)
Fossils/resonators just provide passive income, and the good fossils still go for 60c+
Nearly every league mechanic can net you some really good profits, seems like you are just too casual to minmax it and actually make it profitable/worth running.
Its like trying to run blight maps, but you don't know what you are doing with annoints. Might as well put a bullet in your head out of boredom.

The problem with all thus horseshit, is that you have to first clear the entire atlas and get all your passive THEN respec into whatever thing you want to specialize in, THEN since the game is autismally balanced you'll need the exact perfect setup and perfectly rolled maps with the right amount of quant to get your investment back. Alch and go is a complete meme. I play the game like that and end up quitting because it generates almost no worthwhile currency. If POE let me fully respec any time I would be more into it. It seems designed for people who have never played it to just "fun build new league 2023" and copy it. I don't know what I would find fun until I use it, but at some point I am invested too much into doing something else so the only thing to do is make a new character. Outside of "GGG needs to make money dood" I've never seen a good argument why I can't respec the tree. I would still need to find the gear, new gems, level gems etc for a new build but if I find them as I go I could actually do a respec.
Its a grindy time sink, but an enjoyable game to learn all the mechanics for, but its for a lot of systems at play so it takes a special type of autism to enjoy. Like "build videos" will just be a dude with path of building (third party program that spreadsheets for you) and showing numbers and it makes people excited to play the skill, never seeing any gameplay of it.
The campaign is good and you can play it for free, if you go into end game it starts becoming bad though, you'd also need to start spending money so I would not recommend it.
on first run through, yeah it would for most people especially if they don't use a guide. It's harder now too remember? It was a breeze until they added acts 6-10 and then made act 1 and 2 even harder for some reason because everyone wants the early game to be a slog right?

Act 1 and Act 2 right now are nothing compared to beta and 1.0 Act 1 and 2. Old Merveil used to be PoE's own Duriel with unavoidable Cold Snap spam in a tiny arena.

Not really. You get the new archnemesis effects, but 3 mods removed from each keyword. Its only 1/4th of what Archnemesis used to be. Archnem keywords used to do 4 different things at once, now one keyword only does one thing.

Yeah they nerfed Archnemesis to the ground. Rares are back to being old Rares, but Nemesis extra mods are the Archnemesis effects. Problem with Archnemesis always was that each Archnemesis keyword had like 4 different mods in it, so when you get a Rare with 2 Archnem keywords, you get a yellow monsters with 8+ different modifications to his stats. So when you got say the fire meteor shield mod, it wasnt just the shield and the fire bombs, it was also extra fire resist, extra fire damage and something else fire-related on top.
Thats why 3-4 Archnem mod rares could be ridiculously hard to kill because they had like 12+ different damage mitigation mods stacked on top of each other at once. Archnem rare with 3-4 fire mods was almost immune to fire-based characters damage. Shit was fricking stupid. Rares with multiple immunities were not fun in D2 and they're not fun in PoE either.

Definitely not Heist considering it took them three weeks to introduce all the content. Seriously, it only had two unique bosses for the first week. Also it had a client crash issue and crashing in grand heist would rip your current progress at the time.

Abyss was great because it added Elder and super end-game bossing through him but the mechanic was pretty boring.
Delve was ultra fun because it made crafting accessible to the average player, was super easy to get into and get value out of and just all around a smooth experience.

Also in PoE the engaging part is maximizing what you want from the endgame. Harvest opens up very specific crafting, same for beasts and betrayal. Minmaxing your maps to squeeze out every little bit of potential and making a character that can handle that type of minmaxing is the engaging part, since you have so many moving bits and pieces that go into that. And that is just if you want to craft which adds another whole game into PoE, where you can just spend your days sitting in the hideout crafting shit and figuring out what meta build is most willing to part with their cash.
You had the infinitely scaling delve as well, which again, requires quite the different approach compare to "just kill mob with 1 button eks dee" which might work in maps.

You can minmax for maximum harvest juice, which while neutered is still the only way to do a ton of things, which is why running harvest on your map alone would get you 30c+ with no investment outside of the atlas tree and alch and go.

If POE let me fully respec any time I would be more into it. It seems designed for people who have never played it to just "fun build new league 2023" and copy it. I don't know what I would find fun until I use it, but at some point I am invested too much into doing something else so the only thing to do is make a new character. Outside of "GGG needs to make money dood" I've never seen a good argument why I can't respec the tree. I would still need to find the gear, new gems, level gems etc for a new build but if I find them as I go I could actually do a respec.
Its a grindy time sink, but an enjoyable game to learn all the mechanics for, but its for a lot of systems at play so it takes a special type of autism to enjoy. Like "build videos" will just be a dude with path of building (third party program that spreadsheets for you) and showing numbers and it makes people excited to play the skill, never seeing any gameplay of it.
It's worth just completing the campaign once and then decide if you want to keep playing.

Not really. You get the new archnemesis effects, but 3 mods removed from each keyword. Its only 1/4th of what Archnemesis used to be. Archnem keywords used to do 4 different things at once, now one keyword only does one thing.

Yeah they nerfed Archnemesis to the ground. Rares are back to being old Rares, but Nemesis extra mods are the Archnemesis effects. Problem with Archnemesis always was that each Archnemesis keyword had like 4 different mods in it, so when you get a Rare with 2 Archnem keywords, you get a yellow monsters with 8+ different modifications to his stats. So when you got say the fire meteor shield mod, it wasnt just the shield and the fire bombs, it was also extra fire resist, extra fire damage and something else fire-related on top.
Thats why 3-4 Archnem mod rares could be ridiculously hard to kill because they had like 12+ different damage mitigation mods stacked on top of each other at once. Archnem rare with 3-4 fire mods was almost immune to fire-based characters damage. Shit was fricking stupid. Rares with multiple immunities were not fun in D2 and they're not fun in PoE either.

Heist was the best patch by far and the mechanic was decently exciting. Sanctum was also good. People seem to like ultimatum. Delirium and Harvest were popular because of cluster israeliteels / aura stacking and harvest crafting being op
Definitely not Heist considering it took them three weeks to introduce all the content. Seriously, it only had two unique bosses for the first week. Also it had a client crash issue and crashing in grand heist would rip your current progress at the time.

Abyss was great because it added Elder and super end-game bossing through him but the mechanic was pretty boring.
Delve was ultra fun because it made crafting accessible to the average player, was super easy to get into and get value out of and just all around a smooth experience.

That's the best part, there is no missing out, there will never be a point in the game's life where it's too much to get into like PoE is now.

LE has a new idea in it, I forget what the devs call it, but basically put; Some skills use or can use other skills, take Werebear for example.
