>WHOA!!! WAS THAT A SUPER EFFECTIVE MOVE?! WOW, YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR TYPE MATCH UPS! AS EXPECTED FROM MY BEST FRIEND! YOU ARE JUST THE COOLEST HOLY SHIT! WOW! LET ME SUCK YOUR wiener THAT SUPER EFFECTIVE HIT HAS GOT ME SO HORNY!
Not being able to get the Good Rod until after the 5th gym (when in the other games it's usually near and available before the 4th gym) in Hoenn always annoyed me deeply
don’t play gen 5
Even though it's technically worse, I'll give that a pass since there's nothing worth fishing up in Unova anyways
>starter already has STAB move when you get it
nothing wrong with this, i'd rather the first battle be over with in a hurry as opposed to being a boring Tacklefest
>super rod
>almost always comes long after you've been forced to get a water type for Surf
It'd be alright if it wasn't for
>rival picks starter weak to yours
This turns an already easy battle onto a complete wash that you'd have to be a complete frickhead to mess up.
>Final hit a monster with a critical attack
>Nothing happens
fricking wack
IVs, EVs and Natures.
Breeding should only be about passing Egg Moves. Heck, breeding shouldn't even be a thing but those make it even worse.
I get what they were going for with IVs but they're really tedious.
>half an hour
I fricking wish.
>breeding shouldn't even be a thing

Yeah, natures honestly kinda ruin casual playthroughs once you know what they do. Like, you COULD beat the game with a Gentle Treecko, but while you’re still at the starter table, why NOT reset for a Modest or Timid one? You COULD just cope with that Modest Starly, but why not just keep catching until you get an Adamant or Jolly one, then release all the others? It’ll naw at your mind forever that your Pokemon is statistically crippled, and that you COULD have fixed it with half an hour of resetting, but didn’t. This is why I far prefer the GBC way of doing it; makes me fret over my Poke’s stats a lot less, and just lets me focus on the damn game.
I always find it dumb that people throw poke balls but you never see anyone picking them up. Where do they go once they open?
This is a thread about "shit that annoys you in pokemon" and not one where you pretend your mental illnesses are valid criticisms of the games.
Did you really get that triggered just because I agreed with someone that natures are annoying? Because they are. Get mad at them instead; they made the original point.
There's a difference between "I don't like this" and "this is bad" and this thread is for the first and not the second thing, but you seem to not realize your grievance is solely in the first thing because it's not something that matters,
Sorry if I came off angry I just really enjoy calling people moronic.
Don’t get me wrong: I understand the point of natures in competitive, so I’m not saying they’re objectively bad. But as a non-compgay who just plays through the story, being constantly reminded by red and blue numbers that your Pokemon is statistically the worst version of its kind is… NOT a good feeling. I’ll even take neutral natures; it’s the natures that are antithetical to the Pokemon’s main role that annoy me.
>the point of natures in competitive
the point of natures is to make you more attached to your pokemon by giving them a personality and to not make any two feel the same. comp wasn't something anyone cared about in 2002. The change in stats was just to make that difference pop and feel realer in the gameplay (a naughty X is better at attacking because he's a nasty lil' demon, he also likes spicy food, how precious)
You're a madman who can't see past the numbers. Pokemon isn't a game meant to be hyperoptimized it's way too easy for that.
>I always find it dumb that people throw poke balls but you never see anyone picking them up. Where do they go once they open?
In Horizons they can be seen going back into trainers' hands, I assume due to recoil from the pokemon being released.
I think they meant where do the balls go that you fail to catch a mon with
They break.
I'm the sucker that spends the extra time going for a good nature. But recently I've been able to compromise with settling for a non-shit nature instead. Oh, I didn't get adamant or jolly? That's fine, as long as the nature reduces the special attack stat and boosts literally any other stat and I'll usually just shrug and take that one. Saves a lot of time and I at least know I'm not using the shittiest nature I could be. But the problem is also to find the correct ability, sometimes that doesn't matter though if the only good one is the hidden. and I never bother with EVs, that's just too tedious.
>1% random encounters
>Pokémon has a cool design but is completely unusable, even in the campaign

Cinderace feetjob
That's a raboot.
As in, Rabbit Foot.

will you let him Blaze Kick you in the balls
moronic level up evo requirements.
already has STAB move when you get it
Nothing wrong with this. It's boring to click Tackle for 20 minutes before you get a better move.
>still no good rock moves with 100% accuracy
>still no good physical electric move because PIKACHU has to have the best one in the game all to itself
>Both single and double battles are unfun in pvp and I’m afraid there’s no solution
>scary face in learnset
I have never once seen this move used where it wasn't just the AI effectively wasting a turn.
>Rival picks starter yours is weak to
>Starter does not have STAB move when you get it
>You only get 5 Pokeballs after the catching tutorial
>enter cave
>the only pokemon are geodude/zubat's lines
